  1. I've got no complaints with mine, really nice saw, had it for about 6 months now. Slightly louder than the 260 but currently have nothing negative to say about it. Time will tell as they say but I reckon its a goodun .......
  2. Philip, I don't know the costs but give Nick or Colin at Tree care consultants a call on 01603 721552. They are based in Rackheath just outside Norwich. Really good guys.
  3. Don't use the phrase/word "chicken". The call you made was based on a calculated risk assessment with your current skill level in mind. It wasn't being a chicken it was a sensible thing to do. Whilst it is good to push your boundaries, you also want (and should) go home to your loved ones at the end of the day. Chin up its all a learning curve.
  4. Someone should do really well with this. That is a cracking offer of experience and sunshine.
  5. We tend to be well treated by most of our customers, apart from one mega wealthy couple who never offer a drop...... We had a big hedgelaying job on that took about a month and the local dog walkers ended up in a cake war. We had three differing couples bringing us homemade cakes and scones. Proper job!
  6. If I know I'll be spending a long time on the saw I wear the Timberland gel gloves. There's a good amount of protection and so far haven't had any major issues. Keeping your hands warm is a pertinent point.
  7. I'm so pleased to hear that things are looking better. It goes without saying that you most appreciate what you have when you think you may lose it. Use your love for each other and strength of relationship to work through this together.
  8. I wouldn't say regularly but if its a long way up with lots of messing about then definitely. Hitch climber and pantin can be your best friends when trying to make life easier on the body. Hand ascender or croll with footloop also to help share the load.
  9. If lonliness is an issue Mark I'm sure Ian or Adam can cure that for you at the cutters and climbers if you're camping overnight.
  10. Not Mycology, but, my mother was a nurse in Plymouth in the 50's and they were regularly sent up to Dartmoor to collect Sphagnum moss to pack wounds and dressings for its absorbency properties.
  11. Yep I agree with Felix and Robbie, spot on.
  12. Ash for the first one, could be lime for the second.......
  13. I wouldn't use it personally. As you said its designed for mopeds not saws.
  14. I use Faxko adjustable step ladders. Mine are 8ft closed extending to 14 t. Adjustable ladder steps at the front and two rear independent adjustable legs. They hinge nicely so closed they are the same width as a bog standard set of steps/ladders. Really solid robust good bit of kit!
  15. PM me your details and I'll try to hunt out any old ones in the garage
  16. I use Faxko adjustable step ladders. Mine are 8ft closed extending to 14 t. Adjustable ladder steps at the front and two rear adjustable legs. Really solid robust good bit of kit!
  17. Slightly off topic I used to have a girlfriend who I nicknamed Spanner eyes, every time she gave me 'that' looks my nuts would tighten!
  18. Wolfie's dad is a bit of a legend and I believe he's been in receipt of his bus pass for a good few years. I'm 47 next month and climb every day.
  19. Mull, Nebraska is one of the best albums I've heard in ages. A real grow on you type. 'My fathers house' gets me every time.
  20. Without wanting to sound callous.....This is a grim reminder as to why you should always have a 2nd climber on site to rescue you if something untoward does occur.
  21. Colour is all the difference is. I'm still using xtc (the red one) that I bought 5 yrs ago. Look after your kit and it will look after you......
