    What tree

Hi Pat Some close up shots of the leaves, buds and bark would make it a lot easier to identify.
  14. Top man Alec! They live in Birch near Colchester. Many thanks for your help
  15. My friend's mum has asked for a tree house for her 70th birthday:thumbup1: What we chiefly need is the following Chestnut coppice material 6 x 5 meter lengths approx 6 inches in diameter 6 x 3 meter lengths, again approx 6 inches in diameter but ideally half rounds as they will be used as hand rails. She lives in Essex and we'll be travelling down from Norfolk so if there is anyone in the Norfolk, Suffolk or ideally Essex area that can help out, please get in touch. C'mon, you can say you helped build a tree house for a 70 year old granny. Good karma points me thinks!

  17. Far too much like hard work for me. There are numerous devices that make our lives easier, invest in one of these instead of beasting your body.
  18. Sad news indeed. He was one of my local TO's and was a genuinely 'good man' all ways round.
  19. I was contracted by Norfolk County Council (even though the tree is in Suffolk) to do a survey of heritage trees back in November 2007. I've just had a look back through my records and we recorded this beastie as having a circumference of 25ft 8 inches ....... Twas truly a wonderful tree!
  20. Had mine for about 6 months and is good as gold.
  21. Got home to find my copy had been delivered today. Yahoo! Got mine from Summerfield books who have taken over from Treesource now that Jo has other commitments. Can't wait to get stuck in, it certainly looks as though it will be a good read

    My accident

Sean, What an incredible role model! I would like to hope I would have your conviction and courage if I were in a similar position. Keep on with the updates, my wife reckons they've stopped me whining about trivial stuff for the first time in 25 years:biggrin:
