  4. Chris Carter - your post is yet another example of folks pulling together to help others out. Top banana!
  5. Same as Mark, I turn the bar every time I sharpen in the garage, I also get the t bar out to check the rails as Spud said. Good training sticks with you.........
  6. Strictly speaking...Half a double fishermans is ble rmans!
  7. Tilia, If I'm going to be on the saw for a long period of time I stick on my Timberland anti vibe gloves. Expensive ish I seem to recall but certainly make one hell of a difference and what price long term health? For the cost of a good night down the pub its worth protecting yourself!
  8. I'd go for a scaffold/double fishermans.....
  9. Normally about 7 hours for me, that said whenever I wake early (even 5.30) I'm wide awake so get up and mooch about. Can't stand rushing about so plenty of time to sort myself out. Normally a Greek breakfast for me Coffe and a couple of roll ups then eat about 10 ish.
  10. Ours go to a local allotments (mulch/weed supressant) and the Broads Authority (for use on wet/muddy pathways).
  11. Maybe I'm coming at this from a completely different direction from the original post. However, in my view, should we all not take a step back and look at the bigger picture. What is being discussed is the fact that the same high quality service can be provided for a lesser cost to the council and therefore all of as tax payers. I'm guessing we are all appalled at the waste of money in the public sector, rising council tax and cut backs in services etc and surely providing top quality service at a lesser price to all of us (through cutting out the middle man who takes a hefty fee on top) has to carry alot of weight. Maybe not so straight forward to achieve in the real world but worth bearing in mind none the less.
  12. Any outdoor store should be able to help you out, I get webbing from GoOutdoors. Good luck
  13. Good shout Andy, it would be such a shame to waste all the effort put in.....
  14. Mine came through today, quick turn around and really nice T shirt. Thanks Steve.
  15. Ditto all the above, good to hang out and put faces to avatars. I'm up for another. Silky, keep us posted on the Kew job. Good to see you all and thanks to Ian for sorting it out!
  16. Your post has really moved me Shaun! I went through a period where I thought I may lose my wife to illness so I have a sense of empathy with you. I too am a lapsed donor but this is the kick up the backside I need to get donating again. Here's wishing you all the very best!
  17. Look up either Eastec or Easton college on the web for course dates and costs.
  18. As Matt said, speak to your local (county) council rights of way team. It can be a long winded affair, as they will need to refer to the definitive maps and contact uncle Tom Cobbly and all to publicise the proposed changes but generally can be done.

    Work Hours?

Aim to be on site for 8.00 and leaving at 4.00.
  20. Rupe, do you feel the wording of your post was appropriate or educated? It may not have been intended but to many it could be construed as a comment from a homophobe........
  21. Cut price is my usual preference
  22. Top guy who will be deeply missed by all who knew him, thoughts to the family.....
  23. Cracking news Bob! Onwards and upwards. All the best
  24. Go and have a look. If they are power lines contact the power boys (EDF/UK power network or whatever they're currently called) and ask them to visit and advise. No need for hv tickets if the power is off. Above all don't risk anything!!!
  25. As said, the best time to do Walnuts is high summer. We have two to do but won't be doing them until June/July time. Not sure on the Hornbeam though.
