  1. Thanks for the much needed support guys!!like a said before what a great friendly forum!
  2. So guys, with less than 12 months to go until my service is terminated and my cs. 30,31,38 and 39 plus all the other shiny gubbins due to be booked just before Christmas I'm on the look out for that elusive break into the industry. What it is I'm looking for is the chance to get real, valued expiriance under my belt. As yet I have no formal arb training. However in return I offer other qualitys to the potential mentor- - discipline - initiative - pride in work undertaken - politeness - the ability to take orders and execute them to the letter - fast learner - a sence of humor - reliability - plus so much more from many years of military training and life expieriance. I'm in Wiltshire near Salisbury but regularly frequent Gwynedd in north Wales! So I'm asking the great community of arbtalk do they have the time to educate someone like me or do they know of any one who might be on the lookout for something of the like? I am coverd by life insurance and am happy to discuss with anyone further details or even compile and deliver my c.v. Guys I sorta realised this isn't me strictly looking for employment so i posted it in general but do apologise if this is in the wrong section! And a final thankyou to everyone who has given advice and guidance so far, great bunch of lads! Adz
  3. Thankyou fellas, right then time to start selling myself again! ( oh ok last time it was RIO and was dark we needed beer money.......anyway less of that haha!)
  4. Guys before I start asking around, what(if any!) implications are there? Like insurance etc! Guidance would be most helpfull! I don't want to start pestering people if iTMS just a big nono!
  5. This is amazeing advice from you all guys! It is a pleasant surprise to be on a forum where people know when and where the banter is needed and when it's time to put your game face on!
  6. Hi Adam, sorry in being slow getting back, do you know me and my company? or have i read you message wrong ? I'm ex RM been in and out twice and over the last 17 years only drawn a very small wage a mth £433 to be exact but i have continually invested in equipment , they are really like my toys if that makes sense, but you can always sell quality machinery if things get tight, while you are still in try and get as much as you can in re training and list all injuries b4 you leave. Agood ticket to try and get is the PTI Tree inspection course LANTRA. talk soon, jesse.

  7. Not been broken so far, and to be fair what's the worst they can do!!?? Its not like they can get me pregnant! Haha! But thankyou for all the sounds advice gents! Very appreciated!
  8. Paul that's fantastic mate, great reading! And tree quip with my millitary training punctuality and reliability is drilled into us, fail in that simple area and you put lives on the line! So I hope my future employer will be overjoyed with those qualitys! In 7 years I can honestly say I've only ever been late once! And that was down to train delays! Lol
  9. So guys as some of you may know from my recent posts, I'm leaving the army soon and plan to enter this fantastic trade with all guns blazeing(metaphorically ofcourse!!) so in my elusive quest to start qualifying myself to death and adding as much to my cv as my head and wallet will allow, I ask this question a : what do you guys out there want from your crew members? Sence of humor is a given by the sound of things! But what else? In this day and age it's difficult to get the vast time on the job wich some employers crave but what about the little things that for you seperate the good from the bad! Any and all comments welcome or if you are an employer that has hired an ex servicemen like myself, let us know why and what was the result, good or bad!? Adz
  10. hey jesse thanks for your kind words, so 2 is all you need? does sound simple but with your investment into your trade it would be! how is work for you at the moment and how does it change season to season? thanks for your time buddy!

  11. rich im relocateing to north wales simply because thats where i bought my own house years ago and its the most viable option right now! ive looked and there are a handfull of good firms inthe area, between now and then im going to try and get work experiance witha firm down here and seeing as im already earning i will work for next to nout, my intent is to learn fast and practice even harder! as i am fully aware people only want the best,
  12. thanks for such a great responce guys! i thought logicly and 3 was the number i could come up with! my intent is to get into climbing eventualy, but appreciate there is a ladder that must be climbed in the beginning so to speak! i am willing to graft harder than any man for a chance to have a job i look forward to in the morning and feel satisfied at the end of the day!
  13. hi all, after my time in the army im looking to persue a new career and have decided to throw myself into arborism. now at this moment in time i have no qualifications to my name but that will all change come early next year. until then im looking to get some valuble work experiance! seeing as im already takeing a wage i would be happy to work for next to nothing for this oppertunity and in return i offer someone who has all the trates of a proffesional soldier - punctual, adaptive, strong, ability to opperate in any enviroment in all weathers, unafraid of hard work, able to take orders and act on them rapidly but able to think for self and can do all of these things on a diet of coffee and lamberts lol any and all advice would be appreciated guys, im in tidworth, wiltshire! adz
  14. hi guys first off a little intro, after 7 years in the army ive decided enough is enough and i want out so in less than 12 months i will be. haveing had alot of time away out of the country i have had lots of time to think aswell as time for research into my new choice of carrier! and after a while i kept comeing back to tree care and spent many a late night trawling this fine site and many others ive set my sights firmly on this! im looking into a 28 day course with kingswood training in kent, any of arbtalk members with good things to say about them, or reccomendations for anywhere else? oh and this might be a bone question but how many guys does it take minnimum to be a fully functioning crew and what are theyre roles and responsibilities? look forward to your replys and atleast go a little easy on me fellas! and ladies(are there many at all in this trade?) adz
