  1. As said , i would get a solicitor , you would be much better off getting your money with the use of a legal expert rather than losing your money and further facing a charhge of fly-tipping
  2. well if it helps i was speaking to my missus tonight and with a bit of luck she is happy to get rid of the two navara's and get a bmw m5 touring . not at all any use for work but then neither is a navara
  3. hiya Mark , surveying basicly envolves folllowing a circuit (powerline) and surveying the trees that are growing within proximity to them , various voltages have various clearences etc , then you liase with the owner of the tree and fill out a permission form to allow the trimming of the tree(s) . pretty strait forward to be honest . payment in most cases it a span rate (pole to pole) and your normally paid for every span on the circuit . Hope this is of help and makes sense (too many margaritas with tea)
  4. guys in all fairness the guy posted some pics of work he had been doing . most of us have been in a similar situation weather it has been working for several years without having the required CS units or dismantling large trees using riging without CS40,41 . Having spoken to the guys at FR jones they quickly made me aware that class one trousers will almost certainly not safeguard you from an accident from the likes of an MS200 , Husky 357 or most of the bigger saws . but still i have not started to wear my class2 stretch air trousers because i still have a bit o life left in my origionall class ones .
  5. It may be a long shot but have you thought about doing something like surveying powerines through winter or even ground work ? yes it means doing your Ua1 and Ua5 but it would be another string to your bow . another idea may be to look into subbing your slef out as a grounds man to tree firms .
  6. I was prety unsure about geting one , especially at 6ft2 and weighing 17.5 stone , i thought that it would not have the suppore and comfort of my skylotec but after adjusting it and constant tweeking for the first couple months i can now honestly say that i will not be using anything elts .
  7. personally i think it is quite funn that these guys could not figure out the simpe principles of leverge - something i wold expect them to use in many many rescue situations and fires . But having said that Where were the Tree Surgeons too ??? nowhere to be seen !!
  8. I too used to use the Skylotec harness and hed exactly the same problems , there was meant to be a new version coming out some in late 2009 but it didnt , again in 2010 it was meant to be released but it didnt and this year at the AA arb show i was told that it will not be brought out which is a shame as it was goignt to be a much much better harness . Anyway cutting a long story short i have now got a Tree Motion and highly reccomend it , it first i didnt think i was going to find another harness that was as comfortable my skylotec but i have and not would not go back . Yes it may be more expensive but well well worth it . And i must say thanks to justin at F.R Jones for his help and advice . top notch
  9. they are lovely to drive especially the new D40 Aventura But what lets them down is the dealer service down here , i personally would have another if i could use another dealer but there are only two in cornwall ! both are owned by the same familly and funnily enough both are a totall waist of space whn it comes to service or repair . infact when my other half went into the dealer looking to buy another navara while ours was having a new bottom end they actually could not even be bothered to sell her another !!! little did they realise she had 7k in cash in her bag to put down as a deposit !!!! .
  10. HMMMMMMM . Nice to see that the LA are making use of the Fire & Rescue Service while they are not fighting fires !!!!! they certainly made short work of that tree !!!!!!!! lmao
  11. not sure its of any use but i have an old S reg Mazda B2500 that has done 250,000 miles and if it was not for my useless father crashing it into another of my trucks then it would still be being used daily .
  12. And what about a bowser ful of tea:confused1:
  13. i have two navaras and im proud to say that i will not be getting another !!! one is a 54 plate d22 and at 60k the bottom end parted fell apart - the dealers were a pain in the arse and less than helpfull as it took six months to get the work done , my 56 plate d40 has an intermittent fuel presure valve fault and has had yet another re-call . personally i would not buy another , neither of the trucks are used for proper work and i cant honestly say that if they were that they would last for that long at all
  14. sadly it went to a a new home about 18 months ago . but thanks for getting in touch , my advice would be to have a look on the Arbtalk add trader . Cheers Dave
  15. hi not sure if they are near to you but i have used Ainscough and found them to be excelent and the kit they bring to site is always spot on and rarely breas down (which if you dont take out their insurance for the lifts can make the job rather expensive !!!) anyway here is a link to their depot contact numbers Ainscough Crane Hire - National Crane Hire Depots
  16. if it helps i called FR jones yesterday and was told that they hope to have the new husky in stock for the end of september . hope this is the case as i have 4 ms200 to replace as they have done their two year stint and its time to sell them on
  17. Ace Where can i get a pair of Levi chainsaw slacks ?? . any way they are some nice pics and will have something to show your children in years to come just how well you and your grandad got on and the amazing time you spent working with him . I tell you i wish i had half the relationship with my father . Good man
  18. how about Top it Lop it and Hop it ?? probably would not get you too much work !!!
  19. Ha ha Fred would have been proud of you
  20. personally i wold not bother with any of the "books" , i spent an average of £1200 per year on the books and possibly gained 3-4 jobs from them last year . im not going to spend my advertising budget on other forms of advertising and will not be bothering with the books again !!
  21. what sort of money do you want to spend on a tractor/mog ?
  22. personally i would look at having something a little more than a flyer made and get it delivered to speific areas near you that fit your criteria .
  23. and here are a few more to browse !!! Google Image Result for http://coolwallpaperss.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/anna-kournikova-1.jpg?w=450&h=337
  24. ha ha was just looking through this thread while my 3 springers were out in the field , i was wondering why they were so quiet so i went out to see what they were up to only to find all three of them sat there motionless watching a rabit on the lawn !!!!!! gun dogs i think not !!!!!!!
  25. the other option is to shop round for an old lorry with hiab , there is a firm down here using a lorry with hiab that failed its mot so he bought it and uses it in the yard and on the farm . it is a handy bit of kit though
