  7. Hi there , an option may be to go to somewhere like merrist wood and do a ten week course in tree surgery - you will learn both the practical and theory side or arboriculture , as a starting point i wold highly reccomend it , im not sure if the legend that is Jack Kenyon is still teaching the ten week course , when i was there in 2003 he was and there were a couple guys on my course that were totally new to tree work but still they did really well . feel free to PM me if you have any questions
  8. try the local dogging scene ! failing that you could always see if there is some overtime going at work lmao
  9. so where does this stand when it comes to use on trees within proximity to powerlines ? surely they will require regular pruning regardles ? . my interest is purely aimed at understanding how this system is intended to be used .
  10. True but lets be honest - to some extent a badly cut tree can recover when left alone but when a badly cut trees in then injected with a chemicle to slow its growth down im pretty sure it will not recover at all . Hamma in your experience would you say that this will leave trees being more suseptable to fungal disease and other such pathogens ?
  11. Is PBZ something that you feel will take off ? what are the realistic effects on the trees health ? will this slow down the trees ability to compartmentalise and produce reaction growth ?
  12. personally i would not bother , i have used a 441 with 24" bar and was not impressed with it at al , stick with the 20"
  13. lol , it depends on how much the groundy has annoyed me lmao , in all seriousness im prety sure its something that most climbers try to do where possible and practical
  14. interestin subject , i have recently been told that alot of utility firms are looking into this sory of system , it will be used once trees have been cut withing gardens etc the idea is to slow down any subsequent re-growth.
  15. very very good trucks , we run a ford ranger tipper (53plate) which has covered 136k and in the time we have had it i can assure you its been worked hard and stood up to it - even to the point it has been dragged into some sites by our unimog . IMO you cant go wrong with a ranger as long as it has been services and not pr owned by a tree surgeon !!! we also have an old mazda b2500 (s reg) and that it still going on , its only draw back is that its not a turbo and has seen the bast of its days about 100k ago . hope this helps .
  16. not wll you need is a spearhead fron flail deck and you can cut serious ammounts of roadside verge , have you ever used anything like a valtra 6400 twintrack ??? again really good with the bomford . i am still looking for a front mount flail to go on the mog but not having much luck finding one
