  2. ha ha i used to work for a firm in newton abbot (that has since changed its name) one team managed to chip an entire 19mm lowering rope and several strops and woopie slings , their reply to the boss when he asked was - we didnt realise until we heard the turbo on the tractor kick in

  4. what sort of money are you looking to spen if you buy one ?
  5. guys to be totally honest there is a good reason for dean being so outraged , but in all honestly this type of thing is going on all the time and the plod do not wish to get involved that often as the law regarding such matters is rather complex and results in way to much paper work for them . In an ideal world this chap would have been stoppe and a prohabittion order placed on the trailer and lorry .
  6. failing that if there was enough work for it i would buy the 12 inch jensen i have seen and fit a crane to the mog !!!
  7. i personally have tried various brands such as PHD ,Reflex, Maximuscle and a couple others and i have found maximuscle to be about the best of them . The bigest problem when it comes to Protein is getting the right protein for the right aplication , im currently trying to shed any excess body fat and maintain my current level of strength so i am using Promax Diet and Thermobol , the reason behind that is that the protein shakes aid in supporting muscle tissue that would normally be lost during periouds of body fat loss, i do feel that unless you are training 4-5 times a week then ther should be not real reason to use protein shakes .
  8. Hi Jon , if your looking for a machine to hire in then maybe give john hurle a call i know he has at least two chippers that meet your criteria
  9. ahhhhhh i think i have it sussed , im the new BMW M3 and M5 there is a button that stepps the running BHP up from about half power to full power , maybe this is the case !!!! just think up untill now you could have been making do with 2` bhp then you could have had nearer 42 !!!!!!!! no moe first gear to go up those hills
  10. What sort of size vehicel are you looking to get recovery cover for ?

  12. lol but still he is working on a sunday bless him !! how many hours has he been at it ? you could still dust of the climbing kit and give him a break lmao
  13. press the button and spend the rest of the day working out what you have done
  14. well dont just sit the !!! chuck your sarnie down your throat , dust of your climbing kit and help the poor man ha ha ha ha . OR keep taking pictures or maybe a video to post on here !!! would really cheer me up whilst doing my vat return
  15. looks similar to the launch controle setting switch on my scooby , failing that maybe its its to opperate the ammerican bouncing suspension ha ha
  16. Hi there , an option may be to go to somewhere like merrist wood and do a ten week course in tree surgery - you will learn both the practical and theory side or arboriculture , as a starting point i wold highly reccomend it , im not sure if the legend that is Jack Kenyon is still teaching the ten week course , when i was there in 2003 he was and there were a couple guys on my course that were totally new to tree work but still they did really well . feel free to PM me if you have any questions
  17. try the local dogging scene ! failing that you could always see if there is some overtime going at work lmao
  18. so where does this stand when it comes to use on trees within proximity to powerlines ? surely they will require regular pruning regardles ? . my interest is purely aimed at understanding how this system is intended to be used .
  19. True but lets be honest - to some extent a badly cut tree can recover when left alone but when a badly cut trees in then injected with a chemicle to slow its growth down im pretty sure it will not recover at all . Hamma in your experience would you say that this will leave trees being more suseptable to fungal disease and other such pathogens ?
  20. Is PBZ something that you feel will take off ? what are the realistic effects on the trees health ? will this slow down the trees ability to compartmentalise and produce reaction growth ?
  21. personally i would not bother , i have used a 441 with 24" bar and was not impressed with it at al , stick with the 20"
  22. lol , it depends on how much the groundy has annoyed me lmao , in all seriousness im prety sure its something that most climbers try to do where possible and practical
  23. interestin subject , i have recently been told that alot of utility firms are looking into this sory of system , it will be used once trees have been cut withing gardens etc the idea is to slow down any subsequent re-growth.
  24. very very good trucks , we run a ford ranger tipper (53plate) which has covered 136k and in the time we have had it i can assure you its been worked hard and stood up to it - even to the point it has been dragged into some sites by our unimog . IMO you cant go wrong with a ranger as long as it has been services and not pr owned by a tree surgeon !!! we also have an old mazda b2500 (s reg) and that it still going on , its only draw back is that its not a turbo and has seen the bast of its days about 100k ago . hope this helps .
