  2. why not Tec Cert ?
  3. Hmmmmmm i would much rather that they had not bothered producing that and instead given 1000 U20's away lol
  4. it may sound daft but have a look on abay , i recently had a look at a kit form agg building and it worked out to be pretty cheep but well made
  5. the council down here has !! not sure what they think they will be able to do with it though
  6. hmmmm , thinking about it we use a ranger tipper alongside the unimog , its mainly used for carrying kit and timber etc but if i didnt have a mog i would not go back to a transit !!! but then we spend 4 out of 5 days a week of road
  7. yeah give winchester garden machinery a call , when i was overseeing a grounds contract thats where we used to get all of our blades from
  8. a new harness , couple new bars , and maybe a coule new stihl jackets if mr jones wants to do me a deal lol
  9. having used both i would honestly say that it depends on the application - a landy is great off road but there aint too much room in the cab ! on the other hand a transit is great for roadside work , will carry three men and all your grub bags . i would honestly say that it is totally dependant on your need for 4x4
  10. looks ideal for a decent reduction and Cobra brace it . but i guess it depends on the clients thoughts on having to spend money yearly having the tree inspected and Re braced and thinned/reduced when needed .
  11. Hiya guys , im hoping some of you can help me out with some pictures of the tipper bodies that you have on your mog's . im looking to either change mine or at least make some changes to it , for instance - rear barn doors ? kit stoorage and storage for sicns and comes etc . oh and pics of SWB mogs would be great guys as mine is also SWB . Many thanks in advance .
  12. ha ha this is true im pretty sure he is still small enough to send off down south crofty mine now that it has re opened , but i would certainly now swap him for an Ipod as he seems to be a goodun
  13. tommer pray tell me that you dont have your son sleeping/living in the tipper of your landrover !
  14. cheers for all the advice guys , i will be speaking to a sprts physio tomorrow and taking it from there , thankfully i can still drag brash but thb i have lost the traus in my shoulder and even though its been a week i still dont feel that its stable enough yet to start climbing again but with a bit of luck next week i will be back climbing . today was spent dragging and chiping and i cant say its anywhere near as enjoyable as climbing
  15. thanks for all the advice guys , im glad im not the only one that has suffered this type of thing . as for the overhead press i have been pushing then as much as i cun normally 5x6 @75-80 kg , im guessing that all the smaller muscles that stabalise the rotator cuff have not developed as quickly and further left the soulder imballenced . im hpeing to get back on some cardio this week and slowly get back to lifting some weight in a couple weeks but for now i will be trying to keep woking
  16. Thanks Yeti , im pretty sure it is muscular - when thinking about what i lift at the gym im only benching 115-120 kg but deadlifting 210kg , and recently been concentrating on shoulders more ie lots of heavy shruggs . just thinking this could have been a big factor in it .
  17. why not try using plastic storage box ? i have been suing then and find them much better - ther are watter proof and dont fll appart - having said that i did get a husky bag about 2 months ago and its falling apart !!!!
  18. hmmmm well im kind of hopeing that mine does not come out again lol , but we shall see on wednesday when a see the consultant whether or not it will require lots of physio or surgery , i just really can not take the time of of work
  19. Cheers bud , i have taken it easy since wedneday and thankfully one of the chaps stood in for me working the night job that we had . but im back to work tomorrow and see how it goes
  20. you dont know what your missing NOT:laugh1:
  21. Hiya chaps just wondering if and of you are like me and from time to time (every couple or three years) suffer from dislocating one of your shoulders ?? it happened to me last wednesday whilst loading some timber. Thankfully after a couple minutes it slipped back into its socket but i now have the problem of trying to carry on working whilst trying to strengthen my coure shoulder muscles . Any advice would be greatly welcomed Cheers Dave
  22. i would say roughly £250 - as much as it has not been used much it is still 18 months old , if you can i would try to keep hold of it and use it when your not needing a bigger saw - far nicer and lighter to use for 8 hours a day
  23. Another angle to look at is what you expect from your groundsmen ? do you/your climbers expect that once the climbing is done that you/ the climber do not have to muck in with the ground work ? , is the groundy simply looking at his job as a job?. I had a guy that working for me that did not look to do anything unless he was asked - that way he thought he would have to do no more than he really had to do , he moaned when we workd a little late but did not moan when he went home early but was still paid for the day and even though when times were hard and work was quiet he was kept on . To sum up what im trying to say - each member of staff has strengths and weeknesses and should be paid accordingly no matter what their job role is . but i do feel that alot of the time you will get someone who feels they deserv a pay rise but will not ask the boss or feel that they can discuss this with the boss so they moan to fellow workers or even staff from other firms !!! this personally gets my back up to the point that any chance of a pay increase has gone out of the window . This is not directly aimed at any AT members but is mearly my oppinion
  24. hiya , i worked for a firm in devon that had one of the first fast tracks with i botex fitted behind the cab , it was great on the trobay and exeter citty council contracts as they were either roadside jobs or in parks etc , when it came to forrest work and site clerence jobs it was next to pointles , we still needed another tractor if we needed to get a winch, chipper and airbraked silage trailer to site . i personally would get a crane fitted to the mog, and this is not because i own a mog but because i have found it to be a realy versatile bit of kit .
