  1. well i will be taking two pairs with me to the arb show and will be handing them back , if i do not make head way with them i will be reporting them to the office of fair traiding , if i end up having to this i would like to hear from all of you guys that have had the same problem as me and with a bit of luck i may be able to get something done about them .
  2. i do take on board your coments and ideas but these boots are classed as pe and should although they are chainsaw boots i would expect them to be like every other safety boot on the market - stable to use in relation to petrol and oils - meaning that the sole should not fall apart . but yes i would expect anyone to clean their boots of should this happen . i have decided that after a year and not hearing anythink back from them that i would take the oppertunity to hand the boots back to Work Wear when i visit the AA arb show this weekend . My advice to anyone wishing to perchase a decent pair of boots that are not going to fall appart is to think long and hard before buying a pair of haix !!!! let be honest its not really acceptable for the soles to come appart but when the steel mid sole actually starts to fall out the side of the boot you start to wonder just how much thy would protect you in the event of a chainsaw cutting them !!!!!!! Not alot i shouldnt think
  3. i have a 54 plate D22 and a 57 plate D40 , i personally find that the d22 is much better suited to towing and the generall running about with 3-4 sets of climbing kit and chainsaws in the back and 3 -4 of us in the cab . but when it comes to long journeys the D40 winns hands down . 3 weeks ago i drove from truro- manchester and back in one day to do the 800 mile round trip i burnt just under a thank and 3/4 of fuel , i spent my time on the motorways at roughly 80-85mph and the onboard computer was pretty much spot on telling me that i was averaging 28.3 mpg , i have found that the most economical way of doing long trips like this is to use cruise controle , this was proven when last weekend me and the mrs went to Churth Streton in shropshire and back again with her driving and not using cruise controle 26.1 mpg !!!!! . Now was it the woman driver or the lack of cruise controle that burnt more fuel ?????????
  4. gutted !
  5. sorry been a long day , does anyone know if they are on sale the the AA Arb show this year
  6. why not wear a pair of those spatts with them then lol . as for the question regarding chainsaw trousers i would personally get something half decent to start off with . why not try some of the sip trousers ? well priced (by F.R Jones) and well maid
  7. does anyone know if the husky will be for sale at the apf ??? i am sick and tired of stihl's poor after care . i currently have another 2 ms200t's that require new carbs ! Stihl have told me that its the faulty carb but they will not replace it free of charge even though they accepted that it is a realy common fault . cant wait to try something other than the ms200 !! well lelts just hope the new husky is not anything like the old verion
  8. can you not get the flip flop's to go with them ?
  9. i had a tracked 6" Green mech on demo a coule years back and i was realy impressed with it , we the transit stuck whilst fully loaded with chip but the tracked chipper still pulled it back up the slope
  10. What a bag of crap !!! just goes to show that the orange or green chippers that are made in this country can hold their own !!!!! and to be honest if you get a problem with a gree mech or a timberwolf you can call the factory and speak to the actuall experts that design and build these machines if needed , bet you dont get that with the yank stuff !!
  11. Dave Dowson is a spot on chap . let me know how you get on
  12. why not Tec Cert ?
  13. Hmmmmmm i would much rather that they had not bothered producing that and instead given 1000 U20's away lol
  14. it may sound daft but have a look on abay , i recently had a look at a kit form agg building and it worked out to be pretty cheep but well made
  15. the council down here has !! not sure what they think they will be able to do with it though
  16. hmmmm , thinking about it we use a ranger tipper alongside the unimog , its mainly used for carrying kit and timber etc but if i didnt have a mog i would not go back to a transit !!! but then we spend 4 out of 5 days a week of road
  17. yeah give winchester garden machinery a call , when i was overseeing a grounds contract thats where we used to get all of our blades from
  18. a new harness , couple new bars , and maybe a coule new stihl jackets if mr jones wants to do me a deal lol
  19. having used both i would honestly say that it depends on the application - a landy is great off road but there aint too much room in the cab ! on the other hand a transit is great for roadside work , will carry three men and all your grub bags . i would honestly say that it is totally dependant on your need for 4x4
  20. looks ideal for a decent reduction and Cobra brace it . but i guess it depends on the clients thoughts on having to spend money yearly having the tree inspected and Re braced and thinned/reduced when needed .
  21. Hiya guys , im hoping some of you can help me out with some pictures of the tipper bodies that you have on your mog's . im looking to either change mine or at least make some changes to it , for instance - rear barn doors ? kit stoorage and storage for sicns and comes etc . oh and pics of SWB mogs would be great guys as mine is also SWB . Many thanks in advance .
  22. ha ha this is true im pretty sure he is still small enough to send off down south crofty mine now that it has re opened , but i would certainly now swap him for an Ipod as he seems to be a goodun
  23. tommer pray tell me that you dont have your son sleeping/living in the tipper of your landrover !
  24. cheers for all the advice guys , i will be speaking to a sprts physio tomorrow and taking it from there , thankfully i can still drag brash but thb i have lost the traus in my shoulder and even though its been a week i still dont feel that its stable enough yet to start climbing again but with a bit of luck next week i will be back climbing . today was spent dragging and chiping and i cant say its anywhere near as enjoyable as climbing
  25. thanks for all the advice guys , im glad im not the only one that has suffered this type of thing . as for the overhead press i have been pushing then as much as i cun normally 5x6 @75-80 kg , im guessing that all the smaller muscles that stabalise the rotator cuff have not developed as quickly and further left the soulder imballenced . im hpeing to get back on some cardio this week and slowly get back to lifting some weight in a couple weeks but for now i will be trying to keep woking
