  1. Nothing wrong with that . the customer called you , you were honest and said that it was not you that quoted . looks like your honesty paid off . lets be honest you still hqad to quote ,you were not just given the job . Good on ya
  2. great stuff , sounds like he is fitting in just right . On the down side i have had several hours of the missus telling me that we have to get another Spaniel !!!!!
  3. Hiay guys did anyone have a look at the new system that can be used when spiking a pole ? the system allowed you to work from a pole strop but at the same time your main line was part of the system which allowed you to decend from the pole using the strop as an anchor , and would also be acceptable to use in the event of a rescue . sadly i did not get time to have a good lock or get any info . I wuld be greatfull if any of you can cast some light on this please many thanks Dave
  4. Hope the little man makes a full recovery Nick , lets be honest he is a tree surgeons son so he should be a little fighter . keep us posted on how he is getting on
  5. sadly im not going but my brothers band are playing . not sure if its of any intrest but they are called The London afrobeat collective .
  6. he looks amazing , its about time i got another spaniel , my two are amazing . How do you find they behave as a group ??? e keep looking to get a third but not sure how the other to will accept it .
  7. ha ha you would still need a unimog to drag you out when your stuck . Looking at the pictures there does not appear to be much (if any) more ground clearence than a landrover , not sure how much ground clearence there would be when its fully loaded .
  8. yeah ood idea , we have just changed the coolant but may well speak to alex and get a bigger rad . but will try flushing the rad for now . As for hills i know they are not quite like scotish hills but some are fairly steep but really long . i did find that having the chipper on the front didnt help as it covered to much of the rad.
  9. Hiya Ben , there were a few diferences with the Stein kit , i will show you when mine turns up . Not that i will use it much as the roof of the mog is a great platform to set up a 3 stage ladder from
  10. ahh i see , i did like the Steign design on the hand and foot assenders . i have found with my petzel the rope can slip out of both , but wth the stein kit they have designed them for it not to be possible , they did also say that the stein SRT kit is the only kit to be fully CE marked
  11. Huck do you find that when your mog is fully loaded and driving up steep hills the engine temp fises from around 80 degrees to 90-95 ?
  12. Hi Ben did you have a look at the new Stein SRT set up ? i had a look and did ask about comming back down a sinle line using the hitcher on its own and the guys at stein seem to think that its fine to do so . I must admit as soon as the Stein SRT kit And Stein Base System do look like a very good system to start with . Well worht a look if you didnt get to see it
  13. had a good look and a long chat with Alex about the U20 and its features . very very nice bit of kit , but then i guess it should be for 190k - that is a rough figure Alex gave me for the mog and chipper& front verge mower . Never the less it looks an amazing bit of kit
  14. That is so wrong !!!! so so wrong
  15. well i will be taking two pairs with me to the arb show and will be handing them back , if i do not make head way with them i will be reporting them to the office of fair traiding , if i end up having to this i would like to hear from all of you guys that have had the same problem as me and with a bit of luck i may be able to get something done about them .
  16. i do take on board your coments and ideas but these boots are classed as pe and should although they are chainsaw boots i would expect them to be like every other safety boot on the market - stable to use in relation to petrol and oils - meaning that the sole should not fall apart . but yes i would expect anyone to clean their boots of should this happen . i have decided that after a year and not hearing anythink back from them that i would take the oppertunity to hand the boots back to Work Wear when i visit the AA arb show this weekend . My advice to anyone wishing to perchase a decent pair of boots that are not going to fall appart is to think long and hard before buying a pair of haix !!!! let be honest its not really acceptable for the soles to come appart but when the steel mid sole actually starts to fall out the side of the boot you start to wonder just how much thy would protect you in the event of a chainsaw cutting them !!!!!!! Not alot i shouldnt think
  17. i have a 54 plate D22 and a 57 plate D40 , i personally find that the d22 is much better suited to towing and the generall running about with 3-4 sets of climbing kit and chainsaws in the back and 3 -4 of us in the cab . but when it comes to long journeys the D40 winns hands down . 3 weeks ago i drove from truro- manchester and back in one day to do the 800 mile round trip i burnt just under a thank and 3/4 of fuel , i spent my time on the motorways at roughly 80-85mph and the onboard computer was pretty much spot on telling me that i was averaging 28.3 mpg , i have found that the most economical way of doing long trips like this is to use cruise controle , this was proven when last weekend me and the mrs went to Churth Streton in shropshire and back again with her driving and not using cruise controle 26.1 mpg !!!!! . Now was it the woman driver or the lack of cruise controle that burnt more fuel ?????????
  18. gutted !
  19. sorry been a long day , does anyone know if they are on sale the the AA Arb show this year
  20. why not wear a pair of those spatts with them then lol . as for the question regarding chainsaw trousers i would personally get something half decent to start off with . why not try some of the sip trousers ? well priced (by F.R Jones) and well maid
  21. does anyone know if the husky will be for sale at the apf ??? i am sick and tired of stihl's poor after care . i currently have another 2 ms200t's that require new carbs ! Stihl have told me that its the faulty carb but they will not replace it free of charge even though they accepted that it is a realy common fault . cant wait to try something other than the ms200 !! well lelts just hope the new husky is not anything like the old verion
  22. can you not get the flip flop's to go with them ?
  23. i had a tracked 6" Green mech on demo a coule years back and i was realy impressed with it , we the transit stuck whilst fully loaded with chip but the tracked chipper still pulled it back up the slope
  24. What a bag of crap !!! just goes to show that the orange or green chippers that are made in this country can hold their own !!!!! and to be honest if you get a problem with a gree mech or a timberwolf you can call the factory and speak to the actuall experts that design and build these machines if needed , bet you dont get that with the yank stuff !!
