  1. or one of tipmaster's staff at the weekend lmao .
  2. to be totally honest i have not tried it . i was looking at the idea for use on some of the smaller spruce etc that we clear near powerlines , it looked like an option and would make the RA a bit simpler as the climber would always have an anchorpoit, and in the event of a rescue it would speed the proces up . but like you say it would slow the proces down a bit i guess
  3. hiya guys been looking through threads on info about seting up a tree motion as a bought one from justing just after the arb show , any advice would be greatfull , i have been told that its beeter wearing lower on your hips rather then further up towards your lumber. read so much im totally confused !!! any info would be appreciated . oh and do bear in mind up untill now i have been using a skylotec
  4. personally i would flush the coolant system through including the radiator , often if an engine is sat for a while the coolant can degrade and cause blockages and the cappilaries of the rad etc .
  5. we took one down in a cemetery about 18 months ago which was suffering from something similar . Tommr9 came bown and had the last 15 foot for planking, the timber has an amazing grain and looks really nice when used
  6. surely you accept that there is reason for target pruning , leaving a stub on a 1 inch branch may well not form any major decay but it is still a verry viable entry point for FFB's etc and futher more the tree will take longer to compartmentalise thus cration a greater chance of disease . If you are looking at more "modern" methods of tree pruning/care then i would strongly considder using a Cobra type system when bracing trees rather than the older more invasive sytems , neither of which can be guaranteed to be "good for 15 years" Secondly i personally do not feel that you can state the Shigo has got it all wrong when to my knowledge you have not prodused one paper regarding your theories .
  7. this system was being demonstrated by treevolution , from what i remember it comprised of a strop with a ring at each end that went round the back of the pole and your rope then went through the two rings
  8. well it was an awkard call to make because so many firms are using that collour on the cab lmao . it looks a nice truck , if i knew of one for sale i would buy one
  9. looks lik a nice truck Lorry . was it owned by glendale perviously ?
  10. sounds similar to my missus , i sent her off to find a car to buy while her navara was in having a replacment botom end , she came back with another nearly new navara , looks like i will get my own back on her and get qnother two spaniels rther than just the one ha ha ha
  11. Nothing wrong with that . the customer called you , you were honest and said that it was not you that quoted . looks like your honesty paid off . lets be honest you still hqad to quote ,you were not just given the job . Good on ya
  12. great stuff , sounds like he is fitting in just right . On the down side i have had several hours of the missus telling me that we have to get another Spaniel !!!!!
  13. Hiay guys did anyone have a look at the new system that can be used when spiking a pole ? the system allowed you to work from a pole strop but at the same time your main line was part of the system which allowed you to decend from the pole using the strop as an anchor , and would also be acceptable to use in the event of a rescue . sadly i did not get time to have a good lock or get any info . I wuld be greatfull if any of you can cast some light on this please many thanks Dave
  14. Hope the little man makes a full recovery Nick , lets be honest he is a tree surgeons son so he should be a little fighter . keep us posted on how he is getting on
  15. sadly im not going but my brothers band are playing . not sure if its of any intrest but they are called The London afrobeat collective .
  16. he looks amazing , its about time i got another spaniel , my two are amazing . How do you find they behave as a group ??? e keep looking to get a third but not sure how the other to will accept it .
  17. ha ha you would still need a unimog to drag you out when your stuck . Looking at the pictures there does not appear to be much (if any) more ground clearence than a landrover , not sure how much ground clearence there would be when its fully loaded .
  18. yeah ood idea , we have just changed the coolant but may well speak to alex and get a bigger rad . but will try flushing the rad for now . As for hills i know they are not quite like scotish hills but some are fairly steep but really long . i did find that having the chipper on the front didnt help as it covered to much of the rad.
  19. Hiya Ben , there were a few diferences with the Stein kit , i will show you when mine turns up . Not that i will use it much as the roof of the mog is a great platform to set up a 3 stage ladder from
  20. ahh i see , i did like the Steign design on the hand and foot assenders . i have found with my petzel the rope can slip out of both , but wth the stein kit they have designed them for it not to be possible , they did also say that the stein SRT kit is the only kit to be fully CE marked
  21. Huck do you find that when your mog is fully loaded and driving up steep hills the engine temp fises from around 80 degrees to 90-95 ?
  22. Hi Ben did you have a look at the new Stein SRT set up ? i had a look and did ask about comming back down a sinle line using the hitcher on its own and the guys at stein seem to think that its fine to do so . I must admit as soon as the Stein SRT kit And Stein Base System do look like a very good system to start with . Well worht a look if you didnt get to see it
  23. had a good look and a long chat with Alex about the U20 and its features . very very nice bit of kit , but then i guess it should be for 190k - that is a rough figure Alex gave me for the mog and chipper& front verge mower . Never the less it looks an amazing bit of kit
  24. That is so wrong !!!! so so wrong
