  5. ha ha that made me spit my tea out:laugh1:
  6. can of wax oil or two lol oh and a wire brush
  7. in all fairness if it was a service then there would not be a problem with it even if there was a pin prick - this is only down to the construction of the cable though - basicly it has a double shield so unless you were to make a deep cut through the jacket, outer conductor (shield) and into the dielectric then you would not be subject to a shock how ever if you were to cut this far into a service cable you ARE going to get badly burnt at the very least . BUT there is no viable reason that you should get into a situation that this sort of contact is possible . if it is that close that you need to work within the such proximity then get it switched off or better still get the cables dropped
  8. ooops , mybe a more sensible £4500
  9. not to worry at all mate , i bought it for the missus to drive to work at the bank and home again lol hence the low miles . i was never allowed to use it properly lol . sorry to hear about you we crash !!!
  10. try using a piece of scaffold pole covered in tennis racket hand grip . work quite well , mind you probabl not good to put up in the house lol
  11. yeah 6k , thankfully nissan stumped up for the parts but that is what was documented when i picked the truck up .
  12. the conversion cost 6k for parts and 1.6k for labour , (including a new clutch) . im only lookig to sell it as i bought the missus a 57 plate Aventura while the origional was being fixed . now the origional is not needed and taking up space
  13. hi lorry , i have a 54 plate navara , it has covered 65k and has has the bottom end conversion (basicly a complete new bottom end ) im looking to sell it for £45000 ono if its of any interest to you let me know . this is not by any means an attempt to not to use the arb trader
  14. im affraid i would be looking at a chopper for that lol ,
  15. thats a thingy aint it ? you know one of those things . lmao
  16. would anyone elts be interested in a prtical workshop ?
  17. No it still would not be fine , there is only one situation that you can trust a coated powerline and that is whats known as a concentric or a service wire IE a single wire that runns from the pole to the house .
  18. after studdying at merrist wood back in 2003 (ten weeker) i am also looking to further my academic knowledge . would the dip arb course be the next step or ???
  19. ha ha maybe not cornwall - maybe somewhere a bit more central like cirencester ? but its only an idea
  20. i was thinking more along the lines of seeing if it was possible to set up a series of practical work shops for AT members
  21. as Huck said the pvc coating on ABC is still not clased as an insulated wire and the same precautions should be taken when working within porximity to them .
  22. i was wondering if the merc that you had also had the option to fit a pto . ?
  23. i agree something like a pto bandit250 with hiab would be very nice indeed .
  24. that makes sense , but if a day or weekends practical seminar was to be organised it would need to be both aimed at climbers that do not hold cs41 , maybe something could be arranged though
  25. would anyone be interested in th possibility of a days practical riging workshop if it could be arranged ?
