  1. To be perfectly honest if you can find a way to justify the actions of a highly trained dog handler who not once but twice has allowed dogs to die whilst in his custody and further more try to harm himself as a token effort of remorse then i would put it to you that you are rather blinkered your self . This officer is not an jsut a bloke who left a couple dogs in a car to die (for a second time) this is a highly trined dog and firearms officer who is trained to work under massive levels of stress and is capable of making potentialy life changing decisions under pressure . Not only has the tax payer footed the bill for this officers training but the tax payer has footed the bill for not one but four dogs to be trained/ partialy trained to the cost of a minimum £20,000 per dog only for this officer to leave in a vehicle to slowly and painfully die . tell you what old fruit lets put you in the sort of conditions that these dogs were subjected to and see how you like it !!! im sure there would be at least one person who thought that it was a little cruel dont you think ??? or am i being sentimental again !!!
  2. it makes no difference as to what he was doing , it is simle , two dogs were left in a car with no ventilation or water , i may add that the vehicle was "unmarked" - it was later revield that this vehicle was not a dog van neither was it intended to be used as a patrole vehicle. It is Home Office policy that all dogs shall have access to water and that all ploice vehilces designed to carry dogs shall have a roof mounted air vent, also it is Home Office policy that all working dogs will not be confined in a vehicle for long periods of time. These dogs were not at work and should never have been put in that situation . I would not say that it is a case of sentimentality , it is a case that most people on here know the difference betwene right and wrong .
  3. . i could not agree more
  4. ha ha nope not realy !! i have done it myself and had to live with the quote i gave . trust me you wont do it again
  5. Firsly i will point out that it is an offence to leave any animal locked in a car with no ventilation or water , secondly it is not legal to kill dogs to eat in this country . i personally think that if you can not see that what that police officer did is wrong and you can justify why he did what he did for the second time then you are a complete fool .
  6. Sorry but there is no excuse for doing what this officer did . if indeed this man is involved in the security planning for the olyimpics then i would most certainly question every decision that has been made by him ! Lets be honest if he can not be trusted with two dogs how the hell would anyone trust him to make important decisions ???? As for your statement that "they were only dogs" i would ask you weather you feel that it is acceptable for a growm man to marry a 14 year old girl and father her children ???? . in other countries it is legal BUT ITS NOT LEGAL IN THE UK is it ????
  7. cool i look forward to trying it justin , dont suppose you could get the husky version there as well ? lol
  8. as far as i am aware you may opperte machinery in a residential area from 8am-8pm BUT this is dependant on the noise levells created by the machine - personally we do not work any earlyer than 8 am and finnish by 6 pm ( unless we are on an emergency job ) if the job is an emergency then we tend to carry on cutting but keep chipper use to a minimum .
  9. i never had a problem with my harness slipping down with a saw attached , the problem i did find was that after a while of tensioning and de-tensioning the leg loops the leg loops end up slipping loose while climbing , also i was informed of a LOLER issue caused by the imediate abrasion to the webbing on the leg loops due to the tensioning every time you put the harness on . such a shame this was not resolved by EKN .
  10. maybe the youth should be found and asked if he would like those pictures entered onto the rate my hinge thread lol .
  11. ha ha ha certainly , its the only way to get through boggy areas without betting your boots or trousers dirty lol
  12. that is a fair question Dave , i weigh roughly 101kg , the other two guys weigh 74kg and 81kg
  13. having spoken to Workware uk once again today they have assured me that this is not common and that only 2% of haix boots become faulty !!!!! when asked i was told that they have less than 100 pairs of hax boots returned per year !!!!! . when i asked them why i have had 3 pairs of haix boots worn by three different people all fall apart within weeks of each other was it just me that is un lucky ? their response was to tell me how the boots are not being worn properyl !! and that i must have been one of the unfortunate 2% !!!! I will not be buying any more haix boots . i had been wearing haix boots for the last 9-10 years without a problem but over the last two years i have had nothing but trouble from them .
  14. personally i would look at buying a Stein rigging kit . that way you have an opperational kit. then if you like you can build on that basic kit as much as you like . and all of the components are rated to be used as a kit .
  15. hmmm after watching that i feel tht its a fir bit more involved than i thought . maybe not as good as i thought
  16. or one of tipmaster's staff at the weekend lmao .
  17. to be totally honest i have not tried it . i was looking at the idea for use on some of the smaller spruce etc that we clear near powerlines , it looked like an option and would make the RA a bit simpler as the climber would always have an anchorpoit, and in the event of a rescue it would speed the proces up . but like you say it would slow the proces down a bit i guess
  18. hiya guys been looking through threads on info about seting up a tree motion as a bought one from justing just after the arb show , any advice would be greatfull , i have been told that its beeter wearing lower on your hips rather then further up towards your lumber. read so much im totally confused !!! any info would be appreciated . oh and do bear in mind up untill now i have been using a skylotec
  19. personally i would flush the coolant system through including the radiator , often if an engine is sat for a while the coolant can degrade and cause blockages and the cappilaries of the rad etc .
  20. we took one down in a cemetery about 18 months ago which was suffering from something similar . Tommr9 came bown and had the last 15 foot for planking, the timber has an amazing grain and looks really nice when used
  21. surely you accept that there is reason for target pruning , leaving a stub on a 1 inch branch may well not form any major decay but it is still a verry viable entry point for FFB's etc and futher more the tree will take longer to compartmentalise thus cration a greater chance of disease . If you are looking at more "modern" methods of tree pruning/care then i would strongly considder using a Cobra type system when bracing trees rather than the older more invasive sytems , neither of which can be guaranteed to be "good for 15 years" Secondly i personally do not feel that you can state the Shigo has got it all wrong when to my knowledge you have not prodused one paper regarding your theories .
  22. this system was being demonstrated by treevolution , from what i remember it comprised of a strop with a ring at each end that went round the back of the pole and your rope then went through the two rings
  23. well it was an awkard call to make because so many firms are using that collour on the cab lmao . it looks a nice truck , if i knew of one for sale i would buy one
  24. looks lik a nice truck Lorry . was it owned by glendale perviously ?
  25. sounds similar to my missus , i sent her off to find a car to buy while her navara was in having a replacment botom end , she came back with another nearly new navara , looks like i will get my own back on her and get qnother two spaniels rther than just the one ha ha ha
