  1. yeah i guess you have a very valid point . I suppose that i have been put off but all the time that i have had wasted and the miles i have driven only to find that the machine is nothing like described , i kind feel if you use a reputable dealer as muchas you pay a bit more you usually get honesty and they dont usually want to harm their reputation by selling a polished turd
  2. the only thing i could possibly add to that it - Dont look on ebay for a mog or anything elts that could set you back a fair few quid !!
  3. i run my heating system and hot water from the Wood Warm stove that we had fitted earlier this year , it only has a 15kw output but i still have not been able to get it burning to its full potential !! it heats the house to the point that we have to have the french windows in the kitchen open !! this is all done using a mixture of hardwoods and no soft wood , so as Dean said above it does depend on how good the burner is and how efficient it is . That being said - the house is like an ice box at the moment as i decided to re render and re tile the fire surround on the lead up too the two coldest days of the year so far !!!
  4. you are better of getting it inspected and tested. i believe that Turfor do have such a service , its a good idea as the machine comes back with with any required parts replaced and an up to date cert and you have a comeback if your using it and it fails .
  5. It is so sad that a life is lost in such tragic circumstances, i refrain from speculating as to why the poor woman happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time or as to why the tree failed. A young woman lost her life in tragic circumstances and that really is all there is too it .
  6. Finnaly got home for the first time since yesterday morning , in for a bit of dinner and then most likely i will be required again .
  7. its about time fines were handed out for such behavior . !!!!
  8. i try to be both climber and foreman , but it is my own company and it is slightly different BUT i don't see any reason why a climber can not be the foreman
  9. honestly think the Firewood industry will turn a corner soon , down here we have seen firwood firms springing out of the woodwork on a daily basis but now we see a situation the firewood is a cheep commodity as the market is beyond saturation point , down here it is starting to turn as allot of the guys who set up recently have realized that they now can not make a living from it , in speaking to a couple of the bigger well established firewood firms they tell me that they have seen a slight rise in the number of new customers they are getting , most of them have been stung by someone selling un-seasoned timber etc . I really do think that those of you who are well established will see the change and sales will improve
  10. personally i have found the Zubat 330 to be an ideal hand saw , not too small but also small enough to put me off trying to cut bigger material with it ! as daft as it sounds i have found that blades are lasting much longer compared to one of my staff that uses his zubat to cut way too much 10"12" timber with , its also not really big enough to get in the way . My only niggle is that the silly clip on the attachment point gets worn and comes apart in the blink of an eye lol
  11. Nope , the job we were on the timber had to be removed from site by us , we used the tractor forwarder and got it back to one of our yards and spoke to a log merchant , he came to our yard and loaded it with his forwarder and took it away !! to make it even better he was seen on he way home by another timber merchant who promptly called him and bought it off of him !!! never the less we made good money on the timber and had to do very little with it
  12. it does look like a smashing bit of kit. Are there any pics or vid's of it working ?
  13. i was thinking exactly the same thing !!!!
  14. that looks to the housing for the hydraulic pipes to run through on the boom extension
  15. we recently took down a large Beech and we could not get any interest for it as lumber , there were a few people would have if for free and plenty that would have it for fire wood !! in the end it all went for fire wood and we made good coin on it !!!!!!
  16. where abouts in Cornwall is he ?
  17. here you go !!!!!! Excavator, Recovery, Forestry, Winch, Dozer, Harvester, Forwarder, Tractor, Cat | eBay
  18. personally i would chop it in with them and get something elts !!! its not worth the money , it cost us over 3k and didnt get anywhere
  19. Come on the TCD dip your hand in ur pocket and make Mr riding an offer
  20. i have thought about seeing what they would offer for my A240 , i so need that chipper in my life !!
  21. yes had the same problem with our old 56 plate , it turned out to be a problem with the electronic side of the injector system and incorporated the throttle system as well . in the end we got shot of it because no matter what the main dealer did to try to fix the problem it would re occur in a few weeks !!!!!
  22. Nice piece of kit there David !!!!
  23. sounds like you flooded the clutch , but if this is the case then it is possible that the diff and gearbox breathers have sucked in water as well !! and that would not be a good outcome .
  24. having got a jensen a240 i would highly recommend them , the only problem is that now we have a 240 i now want the bigger 141 !!!!!
  25. sadly ours is still to the side , but that being said im always game for a bit of grip fill and a piece of 4x2 ! lmfao
