  1. We are looking to purchase a new winch to use on the back of our valtra/unimog having looked at several different brands on the internet i thought i would ask on here to see who can reccomend what and point out the pro's and cons etc , so far im no further forward that i was when i started looking , also an idea on cost would be great !! it seems that no one wants to commit to putting a price beside the winches that they are selling lol thnks in advance guys
  2. the one thing you need to take into account is the actual weight of the mog that your running - we run a u1600 with a chip box that's heavier than the stuff produced by the likes of atkinson vos so we have to use a lighter chipper to enable us to carry ore chip , also you will need to consider which springs your running and whether or not your mog has anti role bars fitted.
  3. can you not convert the dumper ? - remove the bucket and fix a skiding grab to it and use the dumpers hyd system to operate it
  4. how far do you have to drag the timber out ?
  5. We have two landrover's that are either racked out with Tevo or use the full lengh sliding drawers configured as a workbench unit or under a false floor . There are kits sold for specific vehicles but it is pricey .we often get offered second hand units which we fit into our vehicles which works out to be cost effective . Here is the link - http://www.tevo.eu.com/
  6. i have been told that i can order them as from the 7th of jan , not sure when i may get it though
  7. must be an echo
  8. hiya guys im trying to find a double rear step that bolts to the same plate as the tow hitch on my landrover . the step folds up either side of the hitch when not in use. i have seen them fitted to utility landrovers but never been able to find out who supplies them . Any help would be amazing . Thanks Guys Cheers Dave
  9. haha good old LA's spend a feck load on new tractor and chipper but do up the old crusty trailer !!!!
  10. Dont do it steve , you would be lost without her !! and only 70k ?
  11. it is a lovely set up , when we got out valtra , chipper and extraction winch it made life an awful lot easier , do you have a timber trailer to go behind as well ?
  12. pretty please can we have some pics of the valtra working , looks like a lovely bit of kit , is the chipper the a240 or 141 ? Cheers Dave
  13. and how many have died from not following the rule book ? i too have used this cut and would not try to say otherwise and saving used it many many times i would not call it predictable neither would a advocate having to work inside the danger zone when there is an alternative. in your eyes you may be the greatest tree cutter there is but as i was once told by a retired tree cutter " There are plenty of dead heroes" . May i be so rude as to ask if you have ever seen someone killed in this game or had to clear up the aftermath of a fatality ??
  14. in this day in age money is mearly a figure 1 no matter whether it is at the bottom of your bank statement or the value of your house , Class it what differentiates the moderately wealthy that have to let everyone know they have money and the people that get on with life and make no bones of the fact they have money . This then brings into account upbringing, life values and respect for the fellow human being . Well thats my thought anyway
  15. two cracking spaniels you have there Dean
  16. i guess Class is viewed differently depending on your own personal position ! im not sure what "class" someone would fit into that has never worked or even in instances is the second generation in a family that does not work
  17. Hiya Dean , we feed ours on boiled rice rice and boiled chicken , failing that have you heard of an eating plan for doggs called a barff diet ? this too can help . hope this helps you . oh and lets have a pic of the man him self !!
  18. hmmmm would sound like its just the right time to be getting into the smaller forestry jobs - hand cutting , winch/forwarder extraction and keep it local .
  19. would extraction via winch to ride and then stack with tractor make it any easier ? . only asking as im interested in your thoughts and findings .
  20. congratulations Garden kit , my parter is 8 months pregnant and it sure has made tthis christmas so special , the outlaws are like excited children .
  21. either that or the family are just cleaning of the shovels and will post on his behalf later !!!
  22. a friend of mine built his own veg planter , he can plant up too three rows ant a time and has developed the system to either plant one, two or three rows and can stagger the planting as well . The only drawback is having to have three people on the back feeding it !! that being said even as a veg planter it can handle small whips
  23. so then what was the verdict this morning when you all sat down to eat ?
  24. hahaha that will teach you !! Good luck and merry Christmas
  25. Merry Christmas Mr Bullman !!!
