Im actually really looking forward to Christmas this year as my partner is expecting our first child and its due in January:thumbup: its amazing how the expectation/anticipation of being a father can change a mans outlook on things !! Merry Christmas hahahahaha:sneaky2:

  5. do they not make an additional guard for the filter ? im guessing the tank is for the crane ? I must say it is a lovely tractor
  6. if i knew where that sad little boy lived i would go and do exactly the same thing to him and take pleasure in doing it !
  7. i would do it early in the year as the new suit of new "licence to pactice" courses is not out these replace the original CS units and alot of the criteria and standards have changed . Edit - i had forgotten to say that cs34 (individual wind blown trees) will no longer be available after April (i think that's the target date)
  8. Thanks Steve , all sorted now but the only way i could delete any messages was by deleting them one at a time , this in turn stopped telling me i had two un read personal messages .
  9. i will second that last week i managed to catch my wrist with my ms200 and thankfully with some glue and gauze it was stuck back together , i have lost the feeling in that part of my wrist but it could have been alot worse with a silky
  10. Typicl , its always the same with the plod !!! i hope you get your kit back but its probably in ireland already !! not a dig at the Irish but it seems to be a halfway house for stolen kit on its way abroad. the plod really do need to be held accountable for the poor decisions that are made !! lets be honest this is someones livelihood that they are messing with. Good luck and hope your kit is found
  11. we tend to use Carb cleaner to clean the saws , it removes chain oil and sap like a good'un , yes we use it to clean air filters as well and over the last 3 years of using it we have not had any problems
  12. Hi Steve , im having troubles deleting any messages from my in box as it tells me "your token has expired" also i keep getting notified that i have two unread Pm's but when i open my in box there are no new messages. Cheers Dave

  15. Hi guys , im currently looking for someone who has a tractor mounted stump grinder for hire . i used to use a guy in Devon who had one but due to a lack of interest he got rid of it !! Anyone got one of know of anyone who has one for hire ? Cheers Dave
  16. i would have to go for the Schliesing 750 kg machine , im not sure of the model number (mx220) but having seen the machine working i can completely understand why its almost double what any other sub 750kg chipper costs !
  17. We Strated with a 10" pto chipper which required a minimum of 80hp but if im totally honest it has done us proud ! it will be a real shame to sell it but we need to make the space (and i would prefer a front mounted chipper for our mog) My advice would be to wait untill you can aford a half decent tractor that you can use to its full potential and then get a chipper to match .
  18. Today Has seen the start of a really bright and exciting future . had we taken the timber trailer down as well today i am pretty sure we would have had got all of the timber away from site leaving only the main stem for planking later in the week (for green park furniture) The Jensen certainly made our old Junkari look like a garden shredder lol . Anyway im fairly sure there will be more pics to follow tomorrow when tommer moves the timber !! im gutted i wont be there but sadly an NPTC assessor meeting takes me away . Thanks for all the kind words and enthusiasm that you have all shown us , it really does go to show what a great community spirit Arb Talk has Many thanks Dave
  19. hi guys , im looking for a multcher to hir for a job , i was sure that someone on here used to hire them out but not sure who it was , either way the multcher needs to fit onto either a u1600 unimog or onto our valtra 6550 . any help would be greatly appreciated
  20. if im honest it was a mixture of both situations , Tom has a tree surgery company that deal mainly in the domestic market and i have a company that is all but solely working within the commercial side of things , we both regularly get jobs that require the removal of large volumes of timber from site and up until now we have had to pay a haulier to do this for us - the own side is that you often end up paying more to have the timber removed from site than we can make from selling it . we also felt that there is a rather large gap in the market that would allow us to purchase the kit and turn a profit . allot of what we aim to do will be considerate and constructive woodland management and the regeneration of dilapidated woodlands . Not only will the woodlands benefit from such works but the local timber market should do too. what better way to sell logs that to be able to assure customers that the timber you are burning has actually come from a woodland that has undergone such works and that the timber is from a sustainable background
  21. Hi guys , thank you all for you kind wishes of luck , both Tom and myself are really looking forward to a positive venture that will transform the way that we work and run our own tree surgery companies. we are currently on the lookout for a 3pl winch , we were looking to get one brought down with the tractor from wilsons but time escaped us !!! If anyone in the area can make use of this kit we will be more than happy to help with a favorable rate . but for now we will be keeping this thread updated with what we are up too with regular pictures (no big pines) before anyone comments lol . Many many Thanks Tom & Dave
  22. Hi Guys over the last few months both Tom Pugh (Tommer9) have been working towards setting up a new Business venture - Combined Forestry Services Ltd . we are focusing our services within the forestry, woodland management and woodland restoration . we also are able to provide services such as site Clarence, crane fed chipping, timber extraction and last but by no means least we are now in a position to supply local firewood merchants with hi quality sustainable timber . if any of our services are of interest to you please feel free to contact either Tom or myself for further info . Im sure Tommer will be along shortly with some pictures of the kit we have taken delivery of so far !!
  23. what sort of quantity of 3m chip have you got John ?
  24. In short i would say that the PAYE should have any refresher training that has been requested by their employer paid for and at NO financial cost to themselves (this includes a loss of earnings). As for the self employed guys i would be asking for a negotiation with regards to how much you earn per hour/day to enable you to recover your costs . All that i would bare in mind is that it is industry best practice to refresh on CS units as recommended. i think you would be on a high road to nowhere if you were to try and argue the fact that you dont need too refresh .
