  1. Everyone has their own story, but that's it, your personal experience. Moral contracts of the mind always lead to fall outs! Write it down in black and white before you start a saw.
  2. There has always been people like this, I used a subbie once from on here, some will remember the thread about the ' unclimbable tree '. Never used 1 since.
  3. John if you are going for a 5 ton machine then I'd have the Tigercut, basically a selector grab with shear . As for 10" on a 3 toner I would never of thought the machine could put enough power into it for that to work. For small stuff I'm enjoying my energy head as I can work close in and over fences where as on a fixed head I'd need to be at full stretch to achieve it. I have a spare blade and plan on changing the paddles on my demo grab to a timber grab and add the blade.
  4. Doesn't look like you could do £500 of damage. Price to fell and throw into a pile if they want a cheap job and they can fix the broken fence with the money they saved.
  5. Advertising, £37 a year for my website hosts. This month I'm sign writing a vehicle so another few hundred quid. It doesn't matter how much your business costs to run, it how much you have left after spending that! That's the important bit.
  6. Mog, 3 tonner and 2 vans. Yes Huck, just me with the occasional subby!
  7. I'm £98 a day 365 days a year of costs. Or £36k a year. No staff just me.
  8. No use, metals too soft and grab not powerful enough.
  9. I had a set years ago, they were ok for Woodchips and Ioose stuff.
  10. Buy the chipper then get a crane fitted. If it were me I'd be buying a Bandit 250 and put a mowi crane on.
  11. Usually a onesie and just use google maps!
  12. They open up easy, it's just a casing then the gizmo inside. Get it serviced properly, I've had one that got scrapped as it laid to long full of crud.
  13. Buy a builders tool belt with the deep pockets and wear it back to front. I have 1 and put wedges in and a mallet.
  14. Go to the gym and do squats, get yourself strong for manoeuvre I g it without causing yourself an injury. That's what I did, within 4 weeks I could get it up and down stairs myself and getting it up and down the ramps was easy. It's hard work though getting into the training.
  15. Old technology the Swandris, fancy donkey jackets! Buy Swazi
  16. Karibu is waterproof and breathable Mark! Nothing man made can replicate it. Watched Ray Mears the other night I've worn a Swazi jacket for 12 years, best waterproof jacket I've ever had.
  17. Mog looks like new Jeremy! Is that a hydraulic spade on the back? Is your winch that's underneath hydraulic or pto?
  18. Cheers Spud! The stop button always going back to start is the best thing Stihl have done since the leaf blower
  19. The new 261 is like an old 26 except even better! I got 2 , 261's 4 years ago and they have been dogs since the day I took them out the box. The roller bearing on the new 261 is still plastic but more substantial! I'm bad for leaving a saw idling while at the chipper, for as long as it takes to chip up. Spud do you think this can put extra wear on the bearing?
