  1. Absolute creme-de-la-creme of bars imo. Lush.
  2. Same. Absolute crap for time of year
  3. I replaced a Stihl FS85 with an Echo SRM300 - chalk and cheese. The Echo is much lighter, much smoother and yes more gutsy. Sweet machines.
  4. Lignin gets lost when kilned... I think.
  5. Unwritten rule that self employed workers dictate the pay vs employed take the pay the job advertises? I've not yet heard of an employer or company that allows a paye employee to dictate their salary. Every trade / profession has a going rate. Funny one.
  6. Beat me to it. LOL. 6100 or 620sx
  7. Agree 100% Recently had to apologise to a customer who'd I'd sent a stump-grinding team to. Both were plastered with tatoos and the wee lady was frightened. Made worse that she made them a cuppa and then they proceeded to help themselves to her garden chairs on the patio to sit drinking it, shouting and swearing, smoking right outside the patio doors and throwing the butts on the patio!
  8. Ditto. Get the Dol from Shavey; have better colour saw and much better customer service
  9. What forwarding trailer is that? Spotted the geared bogie...
  10. My whole business / usp is low impact forestry. Small harvester on flotation tracks, 820 size forwarder. I don't do hardwoods but I can down racks that had the matrix planted tight at 1.5m spacing. The self haulage argument is not really an argument imo. I can fell and stack a 0.7m3 stick in 30 seconds. That micro thing was taking minutes to get to grips with a <0.1 ish stick. How the hell does that pay?
  11. Absolutely dreadful. Microscopic production, loads of faffing about, no marguard in sight... I make no apology for saying that concept is utterly ridiculous. You can hand cut and convert 50 times faster than that. There's a reason proper purpose built stuff exists. These bling grant funded pencil sharpeners seem to me nothing more than exercises in enamouring inexperienced loggers Timber crop = needs to be productive = productive machinery, not toys for boys.
  12. Sorry to hear this and glad you are ok. Expert opinion I think states that braking or decelerating is the opposite of what you need to do; rather you should gently accelerate out of the snaking. I had this with a sizeable caravan years ago and putting my foot down did indeed rectify the issue. Once the dramatics are over you can decelerate again. Edit: high power if choosing to accelerate otherwise no brakes, just gear down on her.
  13. Ditto. Only get filters (spin-on in particular) on a pressure lubed engine; GX390 isn't.
  14. This. Not cost effective compared to a excavator conversion which will do far more.
  15. Classic FAKE advert with usual description, weird postal amount, feedback sketchy as in tree folks often have related history / behaviour. Ask em for the serial number... Golden Rule: If it's too good to be true it always is... (motto for life I'm afraid).
  16. How long is the op roughly? Hour / Two / More?
  17. Best sleep I ever have, almost worth busting something for the quality sleep you get! Had 6 ops now and I could be addicted to anaesthetic big time!
  18. The OP still hasn't stated which year, which is kinda like, fundamental!
  19. It certainly seems you get some Friday afternoon ones. Head gasket is a common problem, generally in the 05-06 year, 4D56 engine, caused by faulty ecu / temp sensor which as you say, cracks the head. Applies to Shogun Sport too. I got lucky with an 04; worked very hard over 140,000 miles and never gave a moments bother. Engine wise I didn't expect any though because I had amber nectar in the sump aka RL 15W40 Diesel Engine Oil. Steering box went on my 98 one, got a good used one for £80. Likewise I had RL in the diffs, gearbox and transfer so no wonder I had no problems! Lubrication is everything!
  20. What year?
  21. 956 is a classic cutters saw. Won't got wrong with that
  22. BS. Husky don't manufacture the oil themselves, neither do any of the saw co's. Simple rule of thumb: Mineral basestock lubricant has the lowest lubricity and HTHS, earliest onset of thermal breakdown blah blah blah. A grp3 synthetic base oil will handle higher temperatures than the above. A group 4 PAO will be even better and a group 5 POE the best. The End.
