  1. These now sold sorry - just texted back. Are your joysticks the "skull cap" ones? If so Simon @ FCA knows how to sort them - there was an article in FCA or FJ recently in fact.
  2. No PM rx yet. I know of some very tidy bruunett tracks around; all for 500's tho I think. I've just text the fella about the one set (pictured). You'll need to move the bolsters as I did - see previous pics in this thread; unless the extra 6" clearance of a 678 negates this - dunno. Must be 600 tracks all over the place - more than enough grousers for a Bruun too.
  3. I have a pair of 600 chains (60%) for 22.5 wheel... Sods law if I sell em I'll need them! I'm not convinced chains are the right thing for deep mud tho? Let me know via PM if you want em...
  4. Once upon a time, there were lots of people who were fed up with Stihl and Husqvarna machines. The good old days are over they cried. But then came a beautiful sound over the hills, the sound of an Echo. The people were astounded at the Echo: it was sweet, smooth and serene. So the people took to the Echo and they all lived happily ever after. The End.
  5. Same. Since '95
  6. Deffo go for the TP. Love em. Used most chippers.
  7. Absolute creme-de-la-creme of bars imo. Lush.
  8. Same. Absolute crap for time of year
  9. I replaced a Stihl FS85 with an Echo SRM300 - chalk and cheese. The Echo is much lighter, much smoother and yes more gutsy. Sweet machines.
  10. Lignin gets lost when kilned... I think.
  11. Unwritten rule that self employed workers dictate the pay vs employed take the pay the job advertises? I've not yet heard of an employer or company that allows a paye employee to dictate their salary. Every trade / profession has a going rate. Funny one.
  12. Beat me to it. LOL. 6100 or 620sx
  13. Agree 100% Recently had to apologise to a customer who'd I'd sent a stump-grinding team to. Both were plastered with tatoos and the wee lady was frightened. Made worse that she made them a cuppa and then they proceeded to help themselves to her garden chairs on the patio to sit drinking it, shouting and swearing, smoking right outside the patio doors and throwing the butts on the patio!
  14. Ditto. Get the Dol from Shavey; have better colour saw and much better customer service
  15. What forwarding trailer is that? Spotted the geared bogie...
  16. My whole business / usp is low impact forestry. Small harvester on flotation tracks, 820 size forwarder. I don't do hardwoods but I can down racks that had the matrix planted tight at 1.5m spacing. The self haulage argument is not really an argument imo. I can fell and stack a 0.7m3 stick in 30 seconds. That micro thing was taking minutes to get to grips with a <0.1 ish stick. How the hell does that pay?
  17. Absolutely dreadful. Microscopic production, loads of faffing about, no marguard in sight... I make no apology for saying that concept is utterly ridiculous. You can hand cut and convert 50 times faster than that. There's a reason proper purpose built stuff exists. These bling grant funded pencil sharpeners seem to me nothing more than exercises in enamouring inexperienced loggers Timber crop = needs to be productive = productive machinery, not toys for boys.
  18. Sorry to hear this and glad you are ok. Expert opinion I think states that braking or decelerating is the opposite of what you need to do; rather you should gently accelerate out of the snaking. I had this with a sizeable caravan years ago and putting my foot down did indeed rectify the issue. Once the dramatics are over you can decelerate again. Edit: high power if choosing to accelerate otherwise no brakes, just gear down on her.
  19. Ditto. Only get filters (spin-on in particular) on a pressure lubed engine; GX390 isn't.
  20. This. Not cost effective compared to a excavator conversion which will do far more.
  21. Classic FAKE advert with usual description, weird postal amount, feedback sketchy as in tree folks often have related history / behaviour. Ask em for the serial number... Golden Rule: If it's too good to be true it always is... (motto for life I'm afraid).
  22. How long is the op roughly? Hour / Two / More?
