  1. Best sleep I ever have, almost worth busting something for the quality sleep you get! Had 6 ops now and I could be addicted to anaesthetic big time!
  2. The OP still hasn't stated which year, which is kinda like, fundamental!
  3. It certainly seems you get some Friday afternoon ones. Head gasket is a common problem, generally in the 05-06 year, 4D56 engine, caused by faulty ecu / temp sensor which as you say, cracks the head. Applies to Shogun Sport too. I got lucky with an 04; worked very hard over 140,000 miles and never gave a moments bother. Engine wise I didn't expect any though because I had amber nectar in the sump aka RL 15W40 Diesel Engine Oil. Steering box went on my 98 one, got a good used one for £80. Likewise I had RL in the diffs, gearbox and transfer so no wonder I had no problems! Lubrication is everything!
  4. What year?
  5. 956 is a classic cutters saw. Won't got wrong with that
  6. BS. Husky don't manufacture the oil themselves, neither do any of the saw co's. Simple rule of thumb: Mineral basestock lubricant has the lowest lubricity and HTHS, earliest onset of thermal breakdown blah blah blah. A grp3 synthetic base oil will handle higher temperatures than the above. A group 4 PAO will be even better and a group 5 POE the best. The End.
  7. There's a co making them near here; I've ordered one - will post pics once done
  8. You're right about the heat. I will likely replace the curly as and when with a Hydroscand offering...
  9. Lovely UK product but damn ugly cars.
  10. Correct. Higher iron content thru thicker cylinder lining means latent heat capacity is greater. Gunning any engine from cold is a
  11. Glorified paperweight. I like useable classics.
  12. Definitely Echo.
  13. This.
  14. Bad news but it strikes me that's a very decent offer from Echo. Fair play to them. CAT mufflers do get flippin hot.
  15. "Sthil" (aka Stihl) in the Title and "decent" in the initial post = reason for no response.
  16. I think it's a tactic of the "Remain" camp; they want you to buy european saws, not Japanese ones! :laugh1:
  17. Just shows what plenty of lazy cubic inches can do...
  18. I think the hi torque is to do with the bevel gear in the head - I am pretty sure it works. Echo heavy duty brush cutter, trimmer, petrol grass strimmer
  19. I've got 3 echo brushcutters and 2 Echo clearing saws (old 46cc model). Absolute beauties all of them. :thumbup1:
  20. :thumbup1: Proper Job 2.wav
  21. Exactly that; fell good conifer, restock with squirrel food.
  22. Anyone else getting them?
