  1. What can you do when you've got harvesting work all day and then in the evening you've got log orders and 'phoning another 10 people that same evening to book work and more log orders... Lightweight lol
  2. Sadly no longer available in the UK; just like 6-cylinder engined pickups!
  3. as per (also above) http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/16057-brushcutter-blades-news.html 3rd pic down
  4. There used to be a theory (rural myth rather) that once you greased the sprocket on oregon bars you had to keep doing it and if you didn't from the start you never needed to! Work that one out! Never did grease them either but they never blew up; husky bars the crappest out there for sure! Red fluid grease wasn't it? Oh and always crank the oiler up!
  5. Interesting; I had a sprocket on a 25" stihl bar (relatively new) go and wondered re the veg oil. Had absolutely no issues on shorter bars tho i.e. 13, 15, 16, 18, 20"... Have experimented with this in the past; very very anti fling! http://www.lucasoil.co.uk/products.php?page=products&subpage=product&product=12
  6. That's the one; cheaper here tho MULCHING BRUSHCUTTER BLADE 300Mm 25.4Mm (Special Offer) - Strimmer/Brushcutter Accessories Online Oregon Brushcutter Blades Buy UK http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/16057-brushcutter-blades-news.html
  7. To be fair / frank
  8. but the mulcher blade is 100x better
  9. Tesco vegetable (rapeseed) oil. £1/litre . You want rapeseed over sunflower as it has highest lubricity.
  10. LHD the one fly in the ointment I'm afraid - just couldn't enjoy it. ditto.
  11. Oh no! It's a slippery slope mate...
  12. Was only putting some beech thru the Japa earlier on, it was indeed beautifully dry after only a year under the tarpaulin; not so oak etc but the ash wasn't too bad. Need another heatwave for a few weeks
  13. You're probably right but each years new log merchants simply don't allow it; my mate sells 1.5m3 good dry elm, beech, syc etc for £80 - nightmare. I've only this season gone up to £70 for a mix and they don't like it! Janners!
  14. Nope; 0.7 loose - who buys a 0.7m3 solid lump of wood?! Such a lump would yield nearer 1.4m3 loose. Loose load is the term and yes the seller might / should have clarified that. Never had anyone (thousands) ask what the metreage is in solid timber terms. A 1m3 loose load in our truck has consistently been very close to 350 logs sawn at hetas standard length 10" since the year dot. Volume occupied by loose logs is always bang on - it's only fair and right. I think people see £ signs only. They'd rather consider £50 for 1m3 green elder than £75 for 1m3 bone dry beech No it absolutely is not! The "going rate" varies dramatically regionally, even within the same county; hell even woodworks on here is 5 miles from me and can get £20 more a m3 in a more rural area...
  15. £70 is for 50/50 hard/soft so atm that's ash/oak/beech and larch/douglas/mac mix. Guaranteed below 25% m/c. No vat.
  16. how do you do it man?!!! Lucky sod
  17. £70/m3 mixed; £75/m3 hardwood... not the cheapest around here either. People see £ not value
  18. I'll speak to Paul at footloose...
  19. Imagine doing log orders in that  Very very very well said
  20. Arborisk; had to claim (underwritten by aviva) for saws stolen in transit ; unconventional but honoured nonetheless...
  21. It's that 4.2 I'm after; had one in an old E-reg landcruiser and it was sweet; not that pokey in atmo form; the turbo they put in the later VX - yumm yumm!
  22. The TD5 sounds quite nice but I detest LR mate sorry! Still want 6 instead of 5 too...
