    07966 792798

    Cheers Murray

  3. Here you are Lyn, try these people: Coppice Wood College they are based at Cilgerran. Or if i can find a suitable site, i might be running one through the Pembrokeshire Tree warden scheme, if so i will let you know
  4. It took me most of the day to do ten yards needed for the competion. The hedges are judges 12 months later, but it is for the best re-growth. These hedges are going to look awful for the next couple of years due to the lack of material in the hedge ( the hedge had been laid downhil along time ago, and there were some large tree stumps which left some big gaps). These gaps needed to be packed with material already cut.
  5. The one advantage it does have is that it is easy to thread over a branch due to its stiff nature. You can get get 3-4 feet to stand upright without falling over ! But to give its due i had the mispleasure of using it when i carried out powerline work. Even after 2 years misuse it still looked like new and the sheath showed little wear and only a tiny bit of hairyness where i caught it with my silky.
  6. I took part in the local ploughing/ plashing(hedgelaying) competition, And i Won the open comp First pic before Second the finnish hedge
  7. If it was that long ago, and you can not remember the syllabus, then make it up. I doubt that anybody will care/know, unless it is for a job interview and the interviewer is Chris Davies
  8. why not fell it at about 15' then you will retain the benefit of a hollow tree and the wonderous beasties there in, whilst reducing the hazzard to the public.
  9. i reckon part of the syllabus was about trees, but i am only guessing
  10. Cheers everybody, i am realy touched by all your unhelpfull advice/ offers :001_tt2::001_tt2:
  11. You must have an old bottle, as the new ones have got the application rates for various species. However right at the back of your label there will be a line that goes something like 'forestry spot applications 50:1' Your local farmers co-op should be able to supply you with everything you will need.
  12. Yes yes, i known i am a halfwit, but do you want it. Come on you know you do.
  13. Cheers Mr Bullman maximum respect:laola: Thankyou everyone out in arb land
  14. Currently standing but soon to be felled is 65 cube of the finest popular in the land:001_tt2:. It can be cut to what ever size you want. Anybody interested, pleeeeeeeeeeeese
  15. I'm not even going to look, as it will lead me into temptation, and therfore trouble with the wife. Anyway i have got a 45 year old tractor, and a dumper/winch and a landrover that is 20 years old.
  16. It took me on my own 4 1/2 days to cut to size with a chainsaw, split with a splitter on the back of a tractor, and stack in 15' block head high. However this was forest grown timber, so straight with few branches. I would upload some photos but my phone has decided that it can not talk to the computer
  17. Ohh my god, i have just messed my pants. Who needs yer foreign muck when planks of that beauty are available on our fair shores.
  18. Holy Cow batman, thems there is some crazy fools. i would like to give it a go though
  19. If you can bothered, dig out the root plate and jet wash it. This is the most valuable as it has the best figuring. However it you need to spend some time getting the stones out which can be an absolute sod.
  20. Oh god yes please, but you are too far away. Don't supose you do mail order ??????
  21. If you get any work in mid-south-west Wales i would be interested. I am a self employed forester, with my own tractor, and have about ten years experience

    Murray

  22. After the slight slagging:lol:, i doubt that if they were a member that they would own up to the video
  23. There is nothing like a bit of optimism jon, i reccon that that most people people will be keeping apple for personel use. It smell so sweet when it burns. You might have better luck contacting your local cider producers
  24. Now that Stihl and Husqvarna are going so hi tec, and there is bound to be some teething problems, and the possibility of some unforseen long term problems. I am seriously considering the Jonsered 2165, as it is using proven low tec technology. A number of years ago i would have laughed at the above comment
