  2. If you can't weld, then look up your local fitter/ agricultral engineer in the yellow pages. You will probably suffer a small amount of scorn/ abuse, but they will be able to explain what you have done wrong and how to fix it. Cost should be minimal, as it will only take a couple of minuites to weld a new nut in place. Good luck
  3. Davies implement in Carmarthen hire out everything including firewood processors. Carmarthen is not that far from you.
  4. If you are felling large quantities of other hardwood, just make sure that the popular get mixed in well. Nobody will notice, and it will save you alot of problems. Dispite so called common knowledge, poplar is not that bad a fire wood.

  6. The Italian Alder keeps it leaves alot longer than the common one, and is often used in urban situation. This could be the reason, or something else completely.

  15. That looks a toasty warm fire. It looks about right for roasting belly pork. Just what you want for keeping away the winter blues.

  17. Yes. We have run our saw bench on a 25hp Kubota tractor. It can not lift it so it has to be moved with our bigger tractor, other than that enough power even when ripping 12' rails.

  19. I am most impressed with the Major/ hiab combo. How have you beefed up the flow rate from the major to power the hiab ? Is the hiab permanatly attached to the major, or on a seperate unit ?
  20. Split and stack like this: Maximum air flow = quick drying
  21. When you cut it the wood goes from white to an orangy/ red. It does not have the distinct growth rings that soft woods have. The growth rings look more like dotted lines.
  22. Have you tried car cocaine (that engine start stuff that you squirt into the air intake) ? It works wonders on my winch (converted swing start dumper)
