  1. Bigger hammer me thinks just like timmy mallet had
  2. Ain't that a fact
  3. I didn't even get to the point where I needed to change the valve rockers Anyway the first one died a proper death by mangled piston . The second well the little bitch will not start for love nor money . It will happily flatten a fully charged battery in a few minutes ? I have now resorted to hitting it with a big hammer ....... still no response . Stupid I know but it just makes me feel a whole lot better . There are false economy engines seriously .
  4. Top job Mister
  5. Ok it wasn't enjoyable but heck its a fantastic job boss
  6. Lovely birch young man
  7. I will call him Murphy . Hope its to your liking . If not don't reply
  8. Make's total sense matey . Less leg work , lighter machine . The problem is you have to convince the customer to keep the chip . So do what most do...... price the job at x amount and then say if I leave the chip on site or chip in the wheelie bins it will x amount less than the original price . All the best
  9. The first failure was down to a piece of the exhaust that corroded in less than 10 months . It fell down into the exhaust chamber and ruined the piston . The second one isn't completely knackered . Although will it start the xxxx will it . Fresh battery still no joy . I really don't think this engine understands English swear words . Could you please send me any info on that diesel engine you got for the splitter as that little unit is one heck of a diamond . Cheers Paul .
  10. Stock rotation I like it ..... bit of a beggar though
  11. The GTM Machines are good so I have heard . The Landscaper local to me has one and its powered by a Mitsubishi branded engine ? Although it doesn't look as well built as the jo beau / greenmech . It has none the less served him well . I have seen him chipping long pieces of Laurel and Conifer at 2.5 " plus which it eats with ease . All the best .
  12. Evening all hope everyone's in fine fettle . I also hope some one out there can sell me a used but decent kohler , briggs engine anything from 13hp upwards with an electric start . Open to other makes also . Reason being my second Chinese fake honda engine aka the Chonda has died . Thats two in less than 2 years that I have killed lol . I know buy cheap buy twice Open to other suggestions diesel maybe . Let me know what you got . Thats all folks
  13. Hi there can you please PM me the dimensions and price of the Greenman . Regards Paul Bell .
  14. Charge more than a normal rate . If you did not cut them down in the first place how can you know whats in the pile ? Keep an eye out for wire / nails and the like I do hate cleaning up after another contractor .
  15. Check the competition out be you jump in at the deep end . Don't let other contractors twist your arm into buying one . Best o luck
  16. I haven't had the priviledge of meeting many celebritys ? Although two that I have met spring to mind . Phillip Schofield and Jeremy Clarkson .... rude , ignorant and so far up there own A holes.... it was laughable . Both of them mocked kids who waited to see them .
  17. Yes its one tough cheap rope . We have some . Its only downfall is that it melts quickly when hot
  18. I used to be a Yes man . Yes you can borrow this no problem . Yes I will drop it off . Yes I will pick it up . Then I saw the light . No more lending at all apart from a decent few guys who live by the break it replace it rule . Trustworthy men who will help me at the drop of a hat . Its suprising how many people unfriend your lady on facebook when you wont lend tools out lol . Im now a no man and relish the fact ....... Buy it like i did
  19. Best one I ever heard was off a young lad . He didnt turn in so we phoned him and his reply was class ( I FORGOT I HAD A JOB ) He had only been with us for a few months bless . Stayed on for 6 six years though .
  20. On hand held blowers we always cut a slot in the plastic tube and twist to form a smaller exit hole . This gives more power and control to the user .
  21. Aye ...... sad but spot on with your diagnosis there Arthur
  22. Crank pulley is a weak spot on the Hdi Partners and Berlingos . Having said that my good lady has had her Partner Quicksilver for 5 Yrs . Crank pulley had to be changed and it is apparently a common problem with the hdi engine .
  23. If I had the need for a container at our yard to store saws and the like . Then I would be digging a big hole and burying it . Then have the locks boxes off with welded steel . Then I would have the locks boxed off again with welded steel . One door welded shut . Door hinges welded over . Steps leading down to the only opening door . Only after you have unpadlocked the hatch to the steps . Not good if you need store a chipper though Just helps sleeping at night . No such words as excessive security so don't even start on that one .
  24. The longer you spend in this game the easier it gets to spot a nightmare customer . Glad you got you money . Many have not this is a sad fact .
  25. Less than a grand for me here in Sunny South Cheshire . I can burn at the yard in my own skips . Sell logs from the yard . No power at all . Landowner gets cheap tree care ; ) . Im happy with the current deal Paid up till 2016 .
