  1. Has it been raining ? This can cause a problem from time to time
  2. Its earning more than its crust at the moment matey Top piece of log wizardry . Hope you and yours are well .
  3. The most annoying problem I have come across and this goes for most Council Tree Officers . They never answer the bloody phone or have a retarded message that says they are out of the office at the moment so leave a message or a call back . ****** They are always out of the pigging office . Many never even return your call I really do believe that a Tree Officer should first of all spend time on the tools and then progress . Best Tree Officer I have ever dealt with was a very skilled arborist that sustained an injury due to work and ended up a TO .
  4. Ian we have one that hopefully will be flying from the nest shortly at nearly 20 yrs old . Our 14 yr old lad is a lazy play station late sleeping beggar . Now its the school holidays he will be splitting logs at the yard and raking up on the domestic jobs for at least 3 days a week . The same thing his brother went through . I always thought it was unprofessional to have my kids at work during the holidays or weekends . Although I was pleasantly surprised to find that nearly all of my domestic customer base was really liking the idea of me getting the boys used to the work place . On the flip side they got some mental tips £ 5 £ 10 notes Mcdonalds and even Kfc bought for them I do have friends in the tree world that do find it really hard . Hope you find a cool solution
  5. Check the belts it should only take minutes and give you peace of mind . They may of stretched or be worn . Have you checked the flywheel sensor ?
  6. Ha ha ha spot on fella . My everyday climbing kit for trees up to 50ft is stored in a ............yes you guessed it a camouflage bag . You wouldn't believe how many times I have nearly lost the beggar Hi viz all the way
  7. Maybe .... and this is just a thought you should offer to work for said timber or at least mention that your willing to pay for it
  8. Could well be loose belts
  9. Cone splitter for us as we only sell x amount of firewood per year . To pay for our yard space and maybe a few cheeky nights away with my lady If im lucky .
  10. Now ya talking boys . Ley Lines and Tunnels are something I have dabbled in for many years now . This quaint pass time has had me all over the uk . Last year I / We found a deep cave next to a powerful waterfall .... near a large northern city . We only had a short rope to descend but never the less this tunnel is marked as an SFFI ....site for further investigation . These lines usually have powerful magnetic fields . The Mersey Tunnel for example has many tributary's shall we say . Turn down one and its surprising how many bodies will suddenly appear and gladly escort you to the nearest exit ? It gets warm really warm underground to the point where you need to shed clothing .
  11. That inner edge was sharp when new lol so why not . Im just a tad over the top with keeping things sharp . I can see where your coming from though I do try to get my old multi tip teeth .... Squared off when they are smaller as I find they cut better . I only do this due to the cutting area being reduced in size .
  12. I have a pedestrian hydraulic driven machine . Powered by a 20hp Kohler engine . This is fitted with the multi tip system and it is bloody amazing . One allen head bolt per tooth is great .This makes for super fast changing . The only gripe for me is not being able to sharpen in between the teeth ? Have you ever considered selling your un sharpened and abused multi tip teeth ? I d buy them Pm me lets get a deal on I sharpen mine on a green wheel ... Silicone Carbide . By the time Im done with the blighters they are as small as a peanut lol .
  13. Many thanks guys . I will make a purchase soon and put up some good pics I hope

    Wasps

Sorry I posted a few weeks back that wasps were lacking this year . I still have only seen a few ? and the nests I have come across have only ever been small and empty ? South Cheshire so far is low on the wasp count . Although I have been informed that they will be here on mass late September ?
  15. Evening people long story cut short I was gifted a box of outdated crisps . The cheap n nasty space invader type . I accepted them and really pleased with my free bargain box so I am . Anyhow I have been leaving a few invaders pickled onion flavored around the yard every night . Sure the foxes are munching on them ? I just wondered what was the best camera to stick up the nearest tree to catch the blighters . Clarity of vision would be nice ? I have cctv on our yard gate . Just wanted something mobile less than a hundred buff . Also have buzzards at our yard most days to ? Could it be badgers ? Just curious is all . Might even be a Woodland Spriggan . A what ? Goggle it for yourself . Our main yard is a Beech Ash Sycamore woodland with lots of old growth stumps now surrounded by the over flowing bracken
  16. Nice one Danny . Ive been in the job for over 20yrs and only have a few videos that customers have done of me climbing ? Millions of photos though . I hate technology ......... sorry thats wrong I just dont know how the buggar works lol . Keep posting matey
  17. Totally agree with Mr Bolam . Took me a can of Polish Lager at 7% . Not all Treemen have an eye for the final product Another quality job .
  18. Top respect fella . Biking is a cool way to get fit and see things you wouldn't see in ya truck aim for hills hills and more hills . Mick Stockbridge is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to pedal power
  19. Many ex forces on here . I myself would opt for a less physical role in the work place if I were in your shoes . Having served myself I would look at tree work /climbing as a very arduous day to day task . Hard on the body and mind . If your an Infantryman NCO or other and you think your fit . Offer a days free groundwork for a local company ? Id sooner do a 13 miler with full kit in the brecon beacons . As I hate dragging brash past flower pots that fall over and ridiculously stupid access scenarios . Not to mention postage stamp drop zones when you finally get to climb ?
  20. Totally agree with you on this one
  21. I feel for you young lady .... I myself sometimes have thought the same thing . Although some people ask some daft questions ? Its maybe just that they are not as experienced in the world of wood as most on here ? Cut some slack to the new boys and ignore the hero's I have spoke out of turn on here a few times . These things happen lets just hope the majority learn and grow from it . I'm still trying
  22. I really like another arbtalkers aka Breezeblocks solution of bolting it to your chipper . You will use it lots more ..... seriously I ratcheted mine to our little TW 125 and it gets used more now than ever . As its always accessible
  23. I went for a copy arb trolley 2 /3yrs ago and when its needed its a bloody legend . Tip my hat to original legend Reg Coates for making it happen
  24. Nice one . This is the point you should of revved your saw and shouted dam my saws seized Seconds later shout its alright just crap in the fuel . Sometimes you just gotta pee
  25. Pee in an oasis bottle ? You know the fruit drink with the larger opening lol . Its what I do
