  1. Crank pulley is a weak spot on the Hdi Partners and Berlingos . Having said that my good lady has had her Partner Quicksilver for 5 Yrs . Crank pulley had to be changed and it is apparently a common problem with the hdi engine .
  2. If I had the need for a container at our yard to store saws and the like . Then I would be digging a big hole and burying it . Then have the locks boxes off with welded steel . Then I would have the locks boxed off again with welded steel . One door welded shut . Door hinges welded over . Steps leading down to the only opening door . Only after you have unpadlocked the hatch to the steps . Not good if you need store a chipper though Just helps sleeping at night . No such words as excessive security so don't even start on that one .
  3. The longer you spend in this game the easier it gets to spot a nightmare customer . Glad you got you money . Many have not this is a sad fact .
  4. Less than a grand for me here in Sunny South Cheshire . I can burn at the yard in my own skips . Sell logs from the yard . No power at all . Landowner gets cheap tree care ; ) . Im happy with the current deal Paid up till 2016 .

  6. I remember your post on this matter . Sorry to hear . However I have never had an issue with any of Saturn Knives stock . Make sure to clean the area where the blades are to sit as this can also cause problems for any blades genuine or other .
  7. Batfink would be very appropriate for this thread .........As his wings are made of steel not just any ordinary steel but a special steel which only timberwolf use lol . Oops sorry and Greenmech ; )
  8. Overtightening can and will cause premature failure . Just saying Saturn Knives have done me proud for many a year .

  12. Me and a good friend of mine made plans for a none tipping body to fit a hilux crew cab a few year back . This basically was both sides of the body being hinged up and the rear door came off completely . Enabling easy removal of the chip from both sides . This is how we still operate when moving chip off our 2 ton trailer

  19. A few days ago on a job the homeowner asked if we could chip some old laurel cuttings and it was a fair pile to be honest . I then asked the standard questions any nails / wire or staples . The reply I got was no I cut them with my loppers ? Anyhow after a good root through the pile of cuttings I not only found nails but loads of christmas lights with all the bloody wire ? . So charged him extra and let him fill up a the dumpy bag Watch out theres some sneaky beggars out there .

  21. I spiked up the door frame in the kitchen when drunk once . My Lady was not at all happy when see came in They were mint spikes just delivered that day and crying out to be tested
  22. Yep same here stays attached to my harness via a Mallion and tightened up with a spanner . If I decide to use a wire core flipline I simply daisy chain my rope strop and then use a 3 way to attach the wire core flipline
  23. My little home log shed . Made from old fence panels and scaffold boards . Roof needs finishing . Bag of logs was used for reference . When selling to public .
