Interesting my back has just started playing up ? Cold weather or just overworked Ste
  5. To be fair I have been predicting a harsh winter for this year all along . Just not sure when the bugger will start I got to sell my logs Or it will be that I have to pick a pocket or two
  6. Late Dec early Jan the winter will kick in hard . Just my prediction . So dont drop your log prices .
  7. Woody Paul my chippers dirty but the filters are clean Kenty maybe I should buy the offender a free week to slimming world
  8. Got me thinking now ? Get some metal wheel arches fabbed up . Cheers . Ally checker plate maybe .
  9. Nice one or maybe some pidgeon spikes
  10. Everytime I have used the micro pulley for this purpose I have always set up a Biner on an endless sling and girth hitched just below the anchor point then run my rope through that ....... just in case a failure should take place . Well to be fair I do this most days whatever anchor system Im using
  11. Customers and staff who insist on sitting on my little TW 125 chippers plastic wheel arches ( ARRRRGGGGHHH ) I ve told you all once before and now a fat ass customer has cracked the plastic ........ I know I,m not what you,d call thin but its my chipper and now you broke it ? How many times do you tell them before you bust a move and ....... well thats how I,m feeling .
  12. 70 % Tree work and 30 % Hedgework / Stumpgrinding . Get yourself going on a partime basis . If its what you want to do crack on fella . All the best
  13. We are and thats a fact . Its just the gonks that run it spoil it another fact
  14. Cool thats where Im at just now minus the hair . Bald with beard kinda looking like the nicest criminal ever aka Charles Bronson
  15. Interesting view point . I like it and it also makes sense
  16. Huck Im based near crewe / stoke I used yp for years and to be fair they helped me build a good customer base . Once you have built up a good reputation as you have done it is easy to say no to yp Parish mags and church mags are good . I mean last year I did less than 5000 miles in my landy . All local work and 10 mins from my yard
  17. An average of 2 / 3% increase in moisture from my summer time reading of 19 / 20 % all barn stored .
  18. I have had my echo pole pruner for probably 10 years and it has done some work . Although recently a local gardener friend of mine has bought a cheap version by the name Whitemoss pole pruner and heck it is identical to my echo version ?
  19. Thanks I will check on the bay now
  20. Thats Interesting as I tested my logs in late sept and most were averaging 19 / 20 % . Going to test them again see what they come in at
  21. Yes sorry it is . I would pay a £100 for a £1000 job though if it was to my liking . Most of the time it is a £ 20 quid note for a lucrative job or payment in logs which is better for me
  22. We cancelled YP and have never been so busy . Also by doing this we halfed our advertising budget and increased our profit . A good local parish mag will bring in the work . Maybe advertise in 4 or 5 local parish mags its still loads cheaper than Y P . Just speaking from what I have observed over the last year
  23. What a self centered git : ( Exactly why we keep a tight circle here and we all know the score . I pass you work and you pass me work . It doesnt always go to plan but hey life is full of ups n downs . Just be honest and fair and always share the rewards with those around you . ie Firewood guy gets me work he will get all the timber . If its a plumber or another trade he will usually get some dollars . Its suprising how much work you can get when you drop a bottle of whiskey off at christmas just to say thanks . I will always get gifts in return for my good deeds . I love sharing it makes me happy . Although I can see your point Huck and I dont always share the joy with people who I dont know . It takes time to build up a rapport with other tradesman who you dont know :thumbup1
  24. You had a rough day fella . Come on yp is a rip of we all know that . £1000 job I will happily give a local gardener / tradesman a £ 100 quid . Its not all about making money . Its also about greasing the wheels for the future and sharing the dough . Then we can all party
  25. Matey I would give you a ton for sure or take you and your lovely lady out for an all expenses paid night out at a venue of your choice Look after those who look after you . Simple really
