  1. Aye. You can always slim down a hinge if required, you can’t beef it up. Learned the hard way.... ?
  2. It is what it is. Every pro on here gets on with it. Not being able to lay turf isn’t very high on the priority list.
  3. There is probably a reason for that Kev.
  4. Exactly Gary. This entitlement bollocks is prevalent now, and it’s sickening.
  5. I’m still waiting for an offer of work from Pornhub Bill. Until that happens I’ve got to do other jobs.
  6. No one who wants to work at the minute is unemployed.
  7. Awesome stuff Conor, top of the game right there! How does the bell auto release the strops? Really slick. Love the ‘2 saws’ comment at the end!
  8. 3/10 Mick. Horns spot on, but the eyes are the small, balefully evil pinpricks above your drawn ones, and the fangs are hanging below your nostrils. I’ve had 11 cans of Strongbow now, so I know I’m right.
  9. So do I. I would have smoked you at the Jonesie comp a few years back with this format.
  10. I’m working on it mate....
  11. See! Would never have happened with my weight on a backplate!
  12. This isn’t particularly helpful in a arboricultural sense, but if you look carefully after 4 cans of Strongbow the tree looks like a monster with fangs, horns and eyes. Probably best to fell it before it eats some children.
  13. Al have you seen Steve’s Picus kit? He’s got a 660 with a 30” bar and a Polaroid camera.
  14. Might sound daft, but would it be possible to add a footplate for long, straight runs? Yes, I’m idle....
  15. Second what Rich said. Ross White who runs Kong is a solid pro who will do a good job. PM me for his number if you like. From what I can see £300 would be lowand £1000 would be high, but it depends on so many factors like length of drag, parking, access width, grind etc. it’s best to get someone to look at it. Any decent outfit will be happy to provide details of arb-specific insurance and qualifications on request.
  16. 20% on a big tree = big number 20% on a small tree = small number Easy.
  17. TW125 is 112cm wide, measured from outer edges of the stop bar, which kind of kills it as a genuinely narrow access machine. The idea still has some merit for me though. It could still be a cheap way to have a tracked hydraulic chipper.
  18. Probably less arb ‘firms’ in Scotland being financed by mummy and daddy?
  19. With you and me signed up for the next ‘Love Island’ mate, it seems certain that Steve will lose some of his finest troops. Nothing lasts forever.
  20. Totally site dependent mate. Habitat windrows are good where applicable, but you need to think about placement. I can’t imagine coppicing without a burn, but it’s all time and effort.
