Those sound pretty good, similar to the ‘Winter Touch’ I have used, and similar price for a single pair. Depends how much sensitivity you need for the controls I suppose Mike. I’ve found neoprene too cold on really brutal days, but I’ve got really poor circulation in my hands. I have Sealskinz as well, they’re great, but I keep them for best!

I try not to ‘work’ work on Sundays, but I kind of like a bit of yard work, servicing, log/chip deliveries or such like in the morning, stuff I can usually involve the kids with. Big dog walk with the family, then after a shower feel justified in having the boozy dream that Mick described. Some pretty good arguments either side, just do what’s best for you and try and be considerate of others.

The perfect Sunday! Pretty much today, but did service the chipper and take the twins swimming first. Rugby instead of film, and big dinner and a bit too much wine still to come!

I’m quite chuffed so far that this thread hasn’t attracted some bleeding heart defending the dids. We all know the craic.

All I can think of Mick is that the dids have a network of a few genuine machines and can order the parts for the serial numbers from them. Doesn’t help if there’s a big problem only a dealer can sort out though. The manufacturers certainly don’t do enough to help. The basic security locks are laughable. They obviously see a stolen machine as a new sale.

There isn’t any stolen kit out there doing an honest days work Spud, that’s bollocks. Anyone accepting ‘mislaid’ ID plates etc. just to get a good deal is as bad as the pikeys.

Some food for thought here for sure. Anyone who buys a chipper without checking serial numbers etc. with the manufacturer is basically as bad as the thieves.

I’m not sure about the engine thing Mick. For instance a TW 160 is about £14k, the engine is less than £2k new. The figures don’t make sense. I agree about Eastern Europe, unless everyone in Romania has a chipper by now! It’s baffling. Beechwood in Coventry had a Forst stolen yesterday, painted in company colours. That would be very difficult to shift.

I don’t make the rules mate. I only know this because I used to find it effective for treating mould. I tried to buy some recently and found out it had been banned. Loads of stuff for sale is Borax substitute. Ebay. Mmmmm. The thieves friend. Selling stolen gear is banned in the UK, but Ebay don’t seem to mind….

Thanks for the updated pics and vids Tim. The wood is basically worthless. If I was pricing it I’d actually offer you a substantial discount if all the heavy wood could stay on site. Even as firewood, any intrinsic value would be wiped out by extraction and haulage costs. Sorry.

Hi Andy, I’ve been really impressed by what I’ve seen of the Microbulls on here, and by Dave’s input especially. I’m leaning towards the WQ simply because of the dealer proximity, and after using tracked and wheeled grinders I prefer wheels. Also good reviews. All the main contenders are pretty good I reckon, although the MB attachment prices are very tempting. I’ve hit a financial glitch at the minute, which I’ll probably have a rant about in a separate thread.

I have used MBS from Essex in the past, and they were great to deal with. Their operator Matt was also a full-on arb, and basically did the job for us. That was a 34m tracked machine, which was way less than a Transit width wise.
