  1. It’s ok, he’s not American.
  2. Who’s got it in mate? My main climber Danny Mac was interested, but now he’s discovered the joy of a good hitch combined with the Petzl Chicane he probably won’t bother.
  3. I’d go with K and Kev (about the resurfacing, not the helo lift!) or walk. Are the surgery aware of the implications of leaving the tree in it’s current state? It would be on their insurance if the tree flattened the surgery, not the tree owners.
  4. You’re only talking about a oner more for a cheapo bollard John, no need to mortgage a GRCS just yet. Quicker to set up, much easier to use, and don’t flop about like an electrocuted fish at the base of the tree.
  5. Being inefficient isn’t cheap though.
  6. Portawraps are for people stuck in the dark ages. Why would anyone put themselves through that kind of fuckonery? Get a Stein SMB 1000 or Roperunner P500.
  7. I’ve tried the 19 Crimes Steve. Bloody gorgeous, but I’m not worth it!
  8. I’m not a wine snob, but I normally favour Aussie Shiraz. This isn’t a continent war, as my Dad said ‘I’ve never met a red I wouldn’t drink’. The Aussie Shiraz’s seem to tick the boxes for me, though. Really heavy, loads of flavour, high alcohol. Just tried a ‘Pepperbox’ from Tesco. £8 with Clubcard. I’m paying over £7 for filth in my local shop now. Bloody good. Anyone tried it? Or any other recommendations? Strictly sub-£10 please. (Although I have tried ‘The Hedonist’, but I would have to start charging more.)
  9. How is the twin line working for everybody?
  10. Now, where did I put my glasses….
  11. Can’t believe you’re so disorganised Mick.
  12. fronteira - FEDIMA WWW.FEDIMATYRES.COM Link to what I had above. Good if you can get hold of some!
  13. Couldn’t source them this time mate, and I wasn’t prepared to wait 6 months and order them from Portugal! Went for Riken Cargo instead, not as aggressive, like.
  14. I did think it sounded a bit King Herod like after I had typed it!
  15. As above. Kill them now, they are babies.
  16. Thanks Paul. The problem is most consultants say ‘rest for two weeks, you’ll be back at work in 4’ without having a single concept of what we do for a living. I really want to get this right, I can afford one chance. Is it best to stay reasonably active after the op, walking dogs etc.?
  17. I’m still working every day, just trying not to climb/twist much, or lift heavy at work. I’m still smashing the bench in the garage, 95x7 last night, a new PB at 52! Benching doesn’t seem to aggravate it, although I cut out dips and chins months ago. Any tips for pre/post op recovery? I can take a few weeks off, but not months.
  18. I kind of ignored this mate, thinking you’d just had a bad customer or installed a pump arse about face or something. You know, the usual. You’ve got lots of mates on here Eggs, and as you know, sharing or talking about stuff usually helps. You’ve got my number if you fancy a chat tomorrow.
  19. Nice anchor! I’ve used similar before. SRT for the win!
  20. Good luck with it Darrin.
  21. Update on this, and I thought I’d tag @Darrin Turnbull to avoid repetition. I’ve been working around the hernias, but the pain isn’t getting any better, more so after bigger days. The specialist thinks they will only enlarge with time, and my guts will end up in my ball bag. Not much choice really, having both sorted with a keyhole op on the 7th Jan. Private, £5k. The current NHS waiting list in my area is well over 2 years. At least I’ll sit out some crappy weather I suppose.
  22. Yes. Doing it now with 2.
  23. Aye, that is bang out of order whatever side of the fence you’re on. It’s just evil.
  24. I wouldn’t say I’ve ever been a big fan of the hunt, but I’m certainly not opposed to it either. The digging out of foxes that have gone to ground never sat well with me, though. I suspect I’m not alone in this.
  25. Same. Had it for years, no problems.
