  1. Sorry to say, you have made a rod for your own back, they didn't need topping in the first place but now they do. Cut back to just above the last cuts and repeat on a cyclical basis ad infinitum Or fell and start again.
  2. Warmer, eh, is it firewood????
  3. In case the handbrake fails or they get hit from behind while they're asleep - they can't roll out into the traffic stream? That's not how air brakes work
  4. Most hydraulic fittings are on pipes which kind of precludes the use of torque measuring, most of which is done on socketed implements The idea of trying it in some of the restricted places the are home to pipe work fills me with dread
  5. Anyone remember arbotex or lac balsam Back in the day all wounds got a liberal smear, didn't help but it did cover a multitude of sins:laugh1:
  6. I am sure you are right, lost count of the middle aged people doing status updates on the bus or randomly wandering along staring at a mobile
  7. It's an advert for his company and he is bigging the thing up. Joe public will be impressed though and that's what matters. It was as simple a free fall crash and bash as you could have wished for, rigging it would have needed a bit more looking at. I have climbed things as bad and worse.
  8. Yep. He has yet to learn the art of reneging on political promises A politician making good on an election promise, who would have thought it. It's a novel state of affairs that we in the UK aren't used to.
  9. First thought is that a 50 percent solit could be a bad idea depending on who did the pricing Bringing in a freelancer is a good plan, hire a chipper as and when needed and away you go with a minimum of investment Observe the climber and "be mindful young padowan" Before you know it you will have a pocket full of saw tickets, money and dolly birds beyond imagining
  10. This:thumbup1: Facebook is for teenage status updates at the rate of 6 per day (omg, lol) Spend it on a website
  11. Dude they are scrotes on the rob not ninja assassins They are cowardly by nature and will run from confrontation. Fighting someone takes time and as stated, time is their enemy, they aren't going to hang about to give you a drumming when they can be running away before anyone else turns up, and the scrotes will assume that you have help. They will run, it's why one exasperated farmer resorted to shooting them in the back.
  12. They stole your arse? What were they doing with your arse? Second thoughts, keep that to yourself
  13. And that you have a way of disposing of the corpse if needed:laugh1:
  14. Maybe I phrased it badly, the point is that you need enough time for you and mr Smith and Weston to get there. If you run the defence in zones it gives you chance to get there and, "intervene" Let them trip the alarm (silent) then beat the snot out of them when you get there, but it's al about TIME.......
  15. This I did a job for one of the bigwigs at Chubb. He freely admitted that they don't sell security but they do sell you time, if you have enough of that you can protect your stuff. What you do with the body is your problem though
  16. Can I ask why a new machine needs oil.?
  17. That's a bad idea if you are going to send it back
  18. My feeling is that the perceived increase is down to reporting and recording. When I started in tree work, it was the 1980's and you didn't get to hear about who had been robbed or stabbed until the ink was dry on the page and the incidents were generally worth reporting. These days, for better or worse, anyone with Internet acces can be a publisher
  19. I will do the seelwork for you, would a grand be OK?
  20. It's more than likely a standard letter, Seasoned wood in an approved burner is all pukka, if the LA don't know or chose to work around that let them dig a hole, then fill it in on top of them. Ignore the letter and if they come back to you, invite them to investigate the matter properly and maybe bring a warrant with them.
  21. All this bouvine and LOLER breaches as well. At least get a bit of new rope :laugh1:
  22. Time to treat yourself to a new one perhaps?? I'll get mi coat........
