    Wages

What area are you in, it makes a difference to rates Did you come to this employer with the tickets or did they pay for them? Most of them are the bare minimum needed for employment in tree work and no one can work 24/7
  4. I knew what you meant:thumbup1:
  5. The powers that be are going to look at the plate because that's what's in front of them Get an amended plate
  6. If your interest is that particular technique its a retrievable top anchor or tie in point (TIP), specifically, that technique is a stem choker. It can be rigged with a biner or even a micro pulley to take a bit of the drag out of the retrieve. If you use hardware pay attention to biner orientation (gate outward)
  7. Google SRT tree climbing Its not as common as traditional DRT but its been around a while. A lot of tree climbers spend an entire career on DRT
  8. That's the sort of thing, make sure it matches your pump output
  9. Assuming excess flow is the problem........ A flow divider will do what it says on the tin, a part of the flow goes to the service and any not required goes to tank or another service via a high pressure carry over. They are usually adjustable to use more or less of the flow on offer. A flow divider would be fitted in the feed and can be independent, or if your valve block is modular it can be incorporated into that.
  10. And there is your answer, too much flow for the valve, a flow divider would sort the problem
  11. What's needed is more info, is this a new issue with existing kit that's previously been OK, or a change of kit issue
  12. I have, someone robbed the PTO pump off my trailer the only spare I had was running a side arm flail and massively over size. It was practically unworkable but it served to get the legs up and crane stowed. In hydraulics, too much is not always a good thing
  13. They are the same material so the expansion will be the same relative to each other and will only be influenced by material thickness. Just because the chain goes round the circumference of the bar doesn't mean it has more volume than the bar, its about the shape. Chains that have been run on a heated bar often go slack because they deform (stretch) a little at each and every link, the bar is a homogenous unit and can only return to its "cool" dimension
  14. So the ambulance chasers don't come after them when fools get it wrong
  15. Bunt chains do stretch a little because if the extra mechanical effort and you are correct that heat is the problem but its heat in the guide bar that causes the problem. The shape of the bar and the coefficient of expansion means that it expands more than the chain and its this that causes the chain to run tight and stretch.
  16. Only if the trailer is getting pushed backwards by the towing head, I.E a vehicle. Its what auto reverse is all about
  17. Why not use a chainsaw for the bulk and a handsaw tor the vinegar strokes??
  18. An 8 wheeler in timber transport will have a much different body style to the ones you see in the construction industry. Bolster pins and a long arm grab are the order of the day.
  19. Its been a known and recognised industry issue in tree work for more than a decade. Some of these bulletins go way back, here is a google search for you, WBVS (grinders) is also mentioned https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=havs+tree+work
  20. If we are looking at ebay, check out "turd if the week" Mobile sawmill Bandsaw Resaw diesel, 2 blades | eBay Anyone got a spare grand for some scaffolding and bits of an old car?:laugh1:
  21. :laugh1::laugh1: There is a good reason he hit the fence, the trailer has a Berlin number plate and its a well known fact that Berliners can barely manage forward
  22. Call me a cynic but the blog did exactly what a blog is supposed to, its a tool to generate web traffic and this one has done its job perfectly, lots of well targeted internet chatter.
