  1. I dont think I have seen it mentioned on Arbtalk yet. Have any of you employers sorted out your work place pensions yet? Even employing ONE person means you need to have one in place soon.
  2. So if you passed your car (cat B) test after 97 & have not taken a Cat C1 or higher test you cant drive it.
  3. I am looking for a 600L IBC. Must be close to Pwllheli or so cheap its worth collecting from further away.
  4. Our council will not get involved with fly tipping if its on private land. Its your problem according to them.
  5. If you read the opening post they are asking if they are legal & have they missed any thing. Yep your right he might need at tacho, but that still does not alter the fact that even fully loaded he wont be using the C1E part of his licence but the BE part. Thats wont affect the need for a tacho but it does impact on some other laws that might apply. Like at 70 unless he gets a medical the C1E will be removed from the licence. The unladen weight of the 110 is going to be 1600-1900kg aprox with a MAM of upto 3000kg. Even a small non braked trailer will put a 110 well into the needing a tacho camp.
  6. Surely a Landrover 110 & trailer is still in the B+E cat (IE cars/vehicles under 3500kg MAM) not C1E (IE vehicles over 3500kg but under 7500kg MAM not for hire or reward)?
  7. As some landrovers can tow 4000kg with air brakes the GTW must be higher than has been suggested to allow for this.
  8. Phone them. Tell them that as they said they could not supply you bought them from someone else & get them to arrange to pick them up. After that its up to them.
  9. 7.0 I do it all myself. Major points for improvement are to inter great the social media as the marketing score was the only low one at 3.6.
  10. I have passed the details to a mate that does mobile bandsaw milling in the area.
  11. You used to be able to get a double screw in joiner. What ever you do, just make sure its well insulated for the voltage it will be carrying & sealed against moisture.
  12. Wow has WRC jumped up in price over the last few years? I was paying £50-65 inc VAT delivered on full loads (18-25 tonne).
  13. Only till the next MOT. Your insurance might be very interested too if you have a crash.
  14. You cant claim from home to work or work to home unless you work from home IE no unit or lock up. You can claim from your unit / lockup to work site & back.
  15. Try theses Logsplitter | MIG Welding Forum logsplitter for mini digger | MIG Welding Forum
  16. I posted a link 2 or 3 days ago about the new rules that are coming in next year. Main points are the 50km exemption is going up to 100km & the drivers hours rules to be applied will be the UK ones not the EU ones. This was it http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/arb-trucks/80645-change-tacho-rules-coming-soon.html
  17. This might be of interest to some of you. https://movingon.blog.gov.uk/changes-to-tachograph-rules-for-local-journeys/ Main points look like:- increase in exempted distance to 100km need to follow GB driver hours rules not EU
  18. Its stained all the clear 25L cans I use & all the clear / white plastic fuel pipes.
  19. You dont have to have any lights as long as it has reflectors & you can see the tow vehicles lights from 15m (might be 15 feet been a long time since I looked this one up) behind it.
  20. Tyvek, Rubberoid or similar.
  21. We use a similar trailer. It holds 2.6m3. Its gross weight is 750kg & its net weight is 150kg so a 600kg payload. Even full of softwood its not near its limits. If taking it bagged up in 1m3 vented bags I can only get one bag on as the load area is not long enough to fit two on without too much over hang & excess weight behind the wheels lowering the nose weight to below its recommended amount.
  22. You have something wrong. I am guessing that a, you dont burn for long enough & b, you dont burn hot enough. We have the smallest Rayburn that has a 2kW boiler. We heat a 260L thermal store. From that we get our hot water & run the rads for 4 hours per day. In winter its running 24/7. The residual heat from the Rayburn heats the main living area & the rads do the bedrooms. The rads are small & only total 2.5kW output. Our TS heats up to 85c+.
  23. One up side of using a nail gun is that you get less vibration / movement in the item you are making so thinner weaker lighter parts can be used.
  24. Teenagers are limited in what weight & size tractor they can drive. 18 year olds cant drive 44 ton LGV's unless they are in the military. Failing that you need to be 21.
  25. Hand stitched repairs in Melbourne.
