  1. Watch the number of cloned vehicles rise. Would be dead simple to do now with no disc on the screen. Buy two similar cars or vans, buy a spare set of plates & bobs your uncle. Two vehicles taxed, mot'ed & insured for the price of one.
  2. Check out the VAT deminimis rules for firewood. You can sell quite a lot to a commercial user before you need to sell at 20%. linky Read sections 7.1.2 & 7.1.3 & 7.2
  3. Re B+E your employer would be wrong. Lots of people thought this when it first came in. Grandfather rights to the B+E does allow them to supervise B+E learners. Re the C cats they would be right that a grand father rights cat C+E cant supervise cat C+E. They need to take the test & wait 3 years. Re a tested cat C + E. They can supervise a cat B+E. The reduction in rights to supervise was limited to the vocational cats which does not include cat B+E.
  4. Def dont do it to your slings. Our local shop has a board with a sling on it. It had been cut on one edge, nailed through the middle & a bit of sand paper rubbed THREE times across its width. It was then tested to destruction. It failed at HALF its rated strength at the sanded part.
  5. If its on road using red it will be limited to 1.5km.
  6. You have all missed the boat on this one. All inland water boats now have to use full duty (and its still red but sold at white prices) diesel for propulsion. They can still buy reduced duty for non propulsion use like heating / cooking / charging bats / making electricity. This happened a few years ago.
  7. That trailer & the company are getting a right pasting on a British construction machinery forum HERE
  8. Why not suggest a compromise like the big contractors do? The will have a sign something like this:- YOUR BIG COMPANY NAME working for XYZ utilities
  9. To late now but I would have used a breathable membrane over the stud work to ensure that it is water tight. Those T & G planks will leak like a sieve. Also consider adding some internal diagonal braces within the stud work so that the T&G is not the only thing stopping racking. Remember that emergency is going to put huge loads on the structure so keep the top weight as low as possible & plenty on bracing.
  10. It is, does not change the value of the information or cost anyone that does sign up any extra.
  11. What do you all use? I have signed up to Izettle They all seem to charge about the same transaction fees & this one had the cheapest card reader at £59 inc VAT. If you use that link you will get your first transaction free.
  12. Am I the only one that never uses charcoal on the BBQ? I just keep a supply of lots of suitable sized bits of good really dry hardwood. Start the fire in plenty of time & the jobs a goodun.
  13. Look up "low ropes" games or course for loads of ideas.
  14. Will you price by the day / hour or the tonne / lorry load? What will your rate be?
  15. We have the little wenlock. Had it now for about 5 winters. Its our main heating source along side a wood fired Rayburn so gets used lots. Bad things: small fire box (however you can still fit bigger logs in if you put them in diagonally which is ok once its got going) The removable top hole cover is dimpled so boiling / cooking on the top is not as good as it could be. If your going to top flue then it wont matter. Our plan is to plasma cut a new flat steel plate to replace it. Sweeping can be a pain if you dont have a Tee fitted at the rear & extra flexi rods (we use a single piece wire rod set) Good things:- even with the small fire box you can keep it in all night as the air control is good. very controllable solidly made gives of loads of heat warms up quick visually appealing can be used with wood or solid fuels (we only use wood) comes with adapter for wood only use glass stays clean & or cleans its self when burnt right
  16. Check out izettle £59 inc VAT for the reader. No monthly charges but you do pay 1.5 to 2.75% per transaction.
  17. By using a valid link to it here you are unwittingly helping them get higher up the google rankings so will then trap more people. Better to break the link in some way. There are also site that do the same for driving tests & driving licence changes / renewals.
  18. Had similar with car insurance. The cancellation fee was more than the value of the remaining policy.
  19. The izettle one is £59 inc vat. https://www.izettle.com/gb/card-readers
  20. Forget the logs & IBC's, look at the size of those lego bricks....
  21. Its more than just advice. Its a full on planning appeal poss going to court. Have appointment with Owen Davenports on Wed.
  22. Thanks will contact them ASAP.
  23. £50 sounds quite cheap when it should retail at £90-110 ish. Does that include VAT & delivery?
