  1. Thats cool. I have a big auger so could soon make a conversion for it. However as its on a big ish digger I would think it would be quicker / cheaper to just gig the stump out.
  2. A pipe sized enough for the flow in the bottom & then fill the ditch with logs all in the same direction along the ditch. Tanks crossings are made this way using pipes.
  3. Get a better wiring kit that supports LED lights. A secondary up side is that you loose the annoying buzzer when they are working as new one now tell you when its not working rather than when it is.
  4. Lol
  5. What sort of problems?
  6. Well obviously I would agree with you. Not sure if this will be allowed or not. For comparison my charges for one person in the car are:- 1 hour assessment £40 3 hours £120 + test fee £115 = £235 1 day £220 + test fee £115 = £335 2 days £420 + test fee £115 = £535 3 days £620 + test fee £115 = £735 (a day = 7 hours inc breaks) Extra persons sharing time at 25% each increase + test fee. Looking at your example I need to put my prices up a little
  7. Contributions are never worthless. Its always good to clear up any possible misunderstandings before your stood in front of a judge. 1, You are right however thats for a different reason. My post is re the cat B licence regulations. Your recollection (of one of my posts lol) is re C&U regs. If you have +B then its the real weights that count for C&U not the plated weights. So a vehicle that can tow say 2700kg can tow a trailer plated at 3500kg as long as the real weight is =<2700kg. 2, the arb exemption is just re the tacho regs & the carrying of other peoples goods within 100km radius. Everyone can carry their own goods/tool of the trade or equipment up to 100km radius. If you carry other peoples goods then you need a tacho as soon as the vehicle moves unless the exemption applies.
  8. True but not due to the licensing reg as explained above.
  9. No they dont, they did but it was removed for legal reasons, IE it was not lawful to enforce on it. The C&U regs stop you towing more than the manufactures spec not the licencing regs.
  10. Correct, it's all about the plated MAM not the actual weight, unless overloaded.
  11. No they dont. Everyone can tow a 750kg trailer with a cat B licence using a cat B vehicle. (if the vehicle specs allow it) A 750kg trailer can have brakes so cars with a low un-braked capacity can still tow 750kg if you use a braked trailer & the car can tow that weight. Cat B vehicles weigh 3500kg or less. Or Everyone can drive a combination of 3500kg plated weight. Again specs permitting. So no towing trailers with little or no load that have a high potential weight. There used to be a condition that the cars unladen weight must be more than the trailers MAM but that has been removed. Its also worth knowing that if you travel outside of a 100km radius & your combination is over 3500kg you need a tacho too. (this is a simplified rule & even under that distance you could need one depending on circumstances)
  12. Why cant I get offers like that round here lol.
  13. I doubt anyone would let it out of the country. Hire one here & hire one there. In both cases with an operator. You will get more done with someone that knows the kit & the extra pair of hands will help too. Prob only need it for half the time that way & total cost will be less.
  14. Depends on what you want.
  15. I use Invoice 360. Its totally free & does all you need.
  16. I have it on my Astra J that I use to teach towing for B+E. For it to activate you have to come to a stop, put clutch down, take it out of gear, raise clutch. You can either keep foot on brake or use hand brake. As soon as you touch the clutch pedal it restarts. If you want you can keep it on the bite for short stops. This does not affect towing at all. Secondary benefit is that if you stall it all you have to do is press clutch to the floor & engine will restart.
  17. Use google web master tools as well.
  18. How about the multi dose sheep injection equipment? Its cheap, easy to get from an agri store & proven technology. Would be easy to limit the depth of injection by fitting a tube to the needle. You could even pipe it up to a back pack sprayer container for virtually unlimited capacity (2500 x 4ml doses per 10L capacity).
  19. I am just changing my trailer to all LED's. The existing bypass relay works them fine but as they have less load the warning buzzer does not work which is now law to have. I dont want the resistors (heat, power, cable size & later when the joints start to corrode the resistor will let the other bulbs flash due to a bad earth) so I am planning on changing the bypass replay for one that can do both LED & normal bulbs. So far only found one for a sensible price eBay link Just waiting for the seller to confirm that it will actually do what it says.
  20. C&U regs are complex & far reaching.
  21. Sorry does what apply? An unbraked trailer MUST have a MAM of 750kg or less. So with an unbraked trailer of the max MAM you can tow it with ANY cat B car of less than 3500kg MAM IE ANY cat B licence holder can drive any cat B vehicle & can tow ANY unbraked trailer. As long as the trailer complies to the C&U regs. A braked trailer under 750kg comes under the same rules as above. A braked trailer over 750kg can only be towed if the combined MAM of car & trailer is 3500kg or less.
  22. I would hope so but its really difficult to keep on top of the really crap legislation & .gov web site that contradicts itself all over the place. The dif between pre & post 2013 is in effect nothing. There used to be a difference but now there is not. There is no Law that says that the trailer cant weigh more than the car just as there is no law that says you have to keep to the makers recommended towing limit. However failing to do so could / would be seen by a court to be reckless/ dangerous ect.
  23. Do you have a source for that? I have seen it mentioned in a few places but none authoritative. This is what the .gov site says Which is almost the same wording as the pre 2013 regs but with the same meaning. The only recent change was the removal of the bit about the trailers MAM cant be more than the unladen weight of the tow vehicle. Re the OP you need a B+E. Its the plated weights not the actual weights for this bit of legislation.
  24. Use a concrete chainsaw?
  25. The change in the gearing would have an effect on the reaction to the throttle position. A faster running engine under a lower load uses less fuel than a slower one under a higher load. The tyre difference is unlikely to have made as much of a difference as you think. Also the 10% difference in side wall height would not equal 3". A 225 / 75 has a side wall of 168.75mm The 225 / 85 has a side wall of 191.25mm Thats just 22.5mm per side wall. Thats 45mm or less than 2" total height difference.
