  1. So a few years back i worked along side one of these Hiab grapple saws and i was not impressed. Worked with one yesterday, with a 'kin ace operator and WOW! On this PARTICULAR job there was no more efficient way to remove the trees. Averaging 40mins a tree, thats dismantled over hedges/fruit trees/roofs, in the container and logs stacked. The stump pic is a 66 with 30"bar for reference, the fungal bracket had 26 clear growth rings.
  2. I find that stuff leaves stains on the inside
  3. The Kilfinan hotel in Argyll, Scotland. Had the best, most mouth watering steak I've ever had there. Normally i scoff down food, but that steak you just wanted to let sit in your mouth. It was truly outstanding!
  4. Haha, I had one of them! But badged as a Seat, was ace on fuel (1.9 non turbo diesel) and bombproof. Sometimes had a problem with starting which was the starter relay (in the fusebox) used to eat 1 of them every 2-3 months. But at a tenner each i didn't bother finding out why it ate them.
  5. I'll pass that on to my mate who now runs it when I'm next home, sure he'll be chuffed
  6. As title, Name and Contact details would be great thanks
  7. I've worked for mike a few times over the past 5years and been on a weekend break to Bergen. It's a really beautiful place when the sun shines and I would probabally be living there if it wasn't so wet! I don't have a bad word to say about mike, tredoktoren or the work, quite simply if you can you can, trees are trees no matter what country they're in. If you're nervous you can live up to expectations a course might help but I doubt it. If like you say you're happy dismantling big trees you've probabally got nothing to worry about good luck
  8. I would prob go for the 16mm 5m split tail for the pulley and an 8m one for the capstan. I use a 13mm rope for my light rigging line Fwiw a50m rope you can do a 90ft tree-pulley at 70-75ft and you still have a few feet to lower with at the end That kit looks very good value when you start to price the bits up individually.
  9. Never had a problem with resin, getting damp and freezing can be a problem, but not really a problem in the uk climate
  10. Oh nooo..... Well It's the same length as the op posted in his first post, and if it's still a problem I guess frjones might just be able to put a longer one in? But for a first light weight rigging kit in the uk it seems quite alright
  11. This is pretty much what you want tbh Rigging box 1 | F R Jones and Son
  12. Although he might be wanting slings to attatch the pulley to the tree... Whoopie slings are good but dear for your first kit, a split tail will suffice and timber hitch it, same for attaching the capstan, think they're listed as slings on fr jones, eg 12mmx5m 16mmx8m ect
  13. Hi Stefan, works good, a lot of competition now with wildly varying prices And standards! Ive done a little bit for vattenfall-reductions and emergencys, not contract work though.. Your setup looks real smart, Jesses too
  14. Would one of those Jo beaus fit in the back of a jap double cap pickup? What's their dimensions folded up?
  15. I really like robDs website as a hint... select manufacture, select saw, length then choices are shown of bar make, light/normal etc. Might be good to add a link so when you have selected your bar, a pop up with "need chains? Yes/no" select yes and a couple of chain options come up fitting your choice-eg Stihl/Oregon semi/full chisel, then same for files
  16. Are you using a solid nosed bar?
  17. She is lovely though tom And its Very refreshing (to me) to see a girl who seems to be a good worker, which hasn't been the case of many of the "arb" girls I've worked with
  18. It'll probably do the job....but i would get frustrated with it. Looks heavy for a start, not keen on the steel with powder coated finish, no "skidders" on the clamps-can see it catching the bark and grabbing the mill, no proper handle, don't like how the uprights attach to the rails to make it adjustable, no rails included with the upright mill, thats my take from looking at the pictures compared to using my alaskan mills. Looks like you're "saving" about £100, or just one decent board! Go alaskan
  19. I find it strange that a European citizen, working in another euro country, is only allowed to work upto 6months a year before having to pay tax in the country he's working rather than home country, yet an American is allowed to do it for upto a year?? Kinda goes against the idea of the European trading ideas Email Skatteverket, the swedish tax office, tell them EVERYTHING and believe ONLY what they say
  20. The pic of the new ford ranger looks pretty cool, not a fan of any of the current or previous rangers styling, shame about the 2016 hilux, quite a disappointment in that picture. I'll hopefully be going for a new 3.0 hilux in may. Looks good, but still feels like a workhorse rather than a show pony, holds its value stupidly well here. 2nd place would be a v6 navara but not keen on the auto gearbox in that, never seems to make its mind up of what gear to be in, nice to drive and cruise about in though, v6 sounds nice too. Not a fan of the ranger/mitsi/isuzus looks. Amorak just don't like it, tiny motor, noisy and agricultural when flooring it, skittish on gravel roads.
  21. Just a little tip for fishing out crap from your eyes is rizzla papers, very soft, doesn't dissentergrate and firm if you twist it up. You can literally stroke your eyeball with them.
  22. Eddy, why is it my local dealer and even the newly opened husqvarna concept store have them in stock for sale, and have done for a while (local dealer that is) yet you say they're not available here until May???
