  1. Sounds like an obvious name to choose if you start a tree surgery firm in Truro! He's not actually using your name is he? If he were called Truro Tree Service and you Truro Tree Services, (notice the s on the end) then you'd have grounds to be pee'd off IMO. Brace yourself for future company's to start up called Truro Tree Care, Truro Tree Specalists, Truro Tree Work, The Truro Tree Co etc
  2. Looks like they've copied skyhucks setup!
  3. have you got one from forest and arb? like the look of them but the description : The Gill Pro Top has been engineered for unrestricted movement and incredible waterproof defence. Its protective design is enhanced by adjustable PU collar and cuffs, a non-lift neoprene waistband and front zip neck closure for cooling ventilation. A non-intrusive zipped pocket is positioned on the back for essentials. 2 Dot™ 2 layer highly breathable and waterproof laminated fabric Fully taped seams for a waterproof seal Durable water repellent finish Low noise and soft touch fabric waterproof or water repellent (useless)????
  4. You need to be a mate and a boss to the guys you work with on site. You need to motivate them/lay down the law to work half hour later to finish a job rather than knocking off for an early finish and returning another day. When someone who's been at the company 20 years is wanting to leave site at 2pm, you need inform them you'll be doing 1more tree, but making it sound like a compromise so they're not bitter towards you. be a mediator between hot headed arbs and the dumb public. On site the buck stops with you-confortations, mediation, problems, breakdowns, accidents, breakages, you're the one who deals with it, even if your the youngest, less experienced, smallest etc
  5. Interesting tables, I was surprised at Mortens figures as it puts the 362 only 300g heavier than a 560, yet i recently got a new 560xp, purely because the 560xpg i handled in the local shop felt about 1kg lighter than the 362! (aswell as being a lot smaller) Goes to show numbers don't mean everything!
  6. looks like a pine to me! i reckon the black mark is staining from sitting in mud
  7. Very nice Ian
  8. Adwords diddnt work for me
  9. That sellers got a blue 1200 for sale too
  10. I was tempted to make an offer, let me know if you're selling it again, been looking for one for a while, it'd suit my work almost perfectly i think
  11. Very nice greencotom, was that on eBay a while ago? Remember seeing one with green sides for about 8k
  12. Im guessing this great idea is also appropriate to those of us overseas? seeing as stolen equipment is often put in containers?
  13. Also seen 6x6 sprinters on trial last year or year before last too, looked like prototypes, maybe the g wagon won the contract? The land cruiser, if as good as everyone makes out sounds like a long term, owner operator investment. If the single cab, as in the picture below was available for 25k+Vat new price id be tempted As it is next year ill be looking for a 2-3year old (near half new price here) 3.0D auto hilux. I don't know why people get hung up on vehicles having a bit of bling. Imo although i will be driving it in saw trousers, wet coats and leak sawdust all over it, i don't see why i can't go to and from site sat in heated leather seats, with built in satnav showing me the way, listning to music through quality speakers travelling in comfort. realistically for me and most arbs offroad is across grass lawns, farm tracks, meadows, and snow/ice etc.
  14. Saw 10 of them in convoy last week
  15. 1st post, 7th pic down on this thread, it really can make a difference to how hard or violent something falls be it a top, stem or tree
  16. I wonder if the new defender will match the Jap stuff in comfort and interior space? or if it'll be like pervious defenders and 10-15years out of date with no elbow room still Be nice if they offered 2 engine options too, the green box ticking stressed out 2liter, but a 3.0v6 would be nice
  17. Cheers Dave
  18. Looking through yesterday's pics, thought this was cool, the avant looks like a toy!
  19. Different sites, still in Stockholm, soon won't be any left! Not sure on age but surprisingly big rings, guess around 80-100, was an enjoyable tree for sure
  20. Another decent sized elm bites the dust
  21. And one of the trucks I call out when needed
  22. This is the one like yours I used to drive
  23. The cranes too small for dismantles tbh. You'll be on max reach then need to lift higher which you don't have the capacity to do, if you do need to strop something you can still do that with the grab on. The grab makes loading and unloading so quick and easy especially if on your own. You can also do things like grabbing whole hawthorn trees to take to the yard and burn rather than mess about chipping them. As long as the boom is leaven when loaded you shouldn't have a problem as it won't be any higher (I had it pointing a bit up when it sat on a big load and clipped a petrol station roof once!) You'll find so many advantages to having a grab and rotator
  24. Nice truck billy! I used to drive one near identical to that, get a grab and rotator and you'll never understand how you managed without! Looks like it's pipped for it too
