    Summer 2014

Nice little compilation, liking the vertical speed lines, can't remember doing one, might have to try it. Whats the average height of trees you're working on over there?
  8. Do you have a giant working for you tom?? Haha Would be interested to see it against the 362 and 560....and again once it's run in
  9. search google images for Eucalyptus seeds, i think your expert has gotten a little confused
  10. I for one think fair play mr forestry, if you can get the same product cheaper and still sell at market value then thats a logical choice for YOUR business to make more profit! Its not your responsibility to support other businesses. harsh but true However if you were selling at below market value at a price uk suppliers couldn't compete with, that would be bad practice, or just not very nice As long as its legal, fair enough!
  11. I think Swedish price and private shipping would kill it, or put at least 100 quid on the UK price Uk supplier here though Tree-Jack Felling Tool - OrionHeating.co.uk (saw it in a users signature)
  12. Thats just for a dropsided body, no lights, tipper gear, fitment, high sides etc
  13. The 200 is like a little gokart, can't lift much weight but brash its good at, not ideal for arb work, but ok on the odd perfect job. Haven't used the 3 or 400 series the 500 series is great, the older versions had metal panels which are a big bonus for arb work, also some, the +models i think, have telescopic arm which is, i think a must. the 600s are a fair machine, size, weight and lift wise, the 700s are only a bit longer than the 600 (i think) but will lift an extra 300(?)kgs, around 1.4ton. certainly an impressive machine if you have the space/width on site to accommodate it. the arctic steer makes it surprisingly nimble Ferrari Gandini (spelling) are also great bits of kit (used the 35hp version a few times) CSF MultiOne also make a similar range and i believe one of the bigger models has oscillating central pivot which would be better offroad. I'm hiring one next month on a job, first go on a csf attatchments, the best arb attachment iv seen/worked alongside is a kts forestry style swivelling skidded style grapple with hydraulic winch
  14. Is that a continuation of the ash rigging video? 2 months on one tree??? haha!
  15. Cool Never much to say when a videos smooth and professional
  16. I used to tow a timber wolf behind an 18tonner, you couldn't see it in the mirrors unless almost jackknifing it. Also worked for a company who when parked at the lights, some underhand characters unhitched the chipper and waited for the lads to drive off, (in a 7.5tonner you won't feel a 750kg chipper) so might not be p45 time!
  17. Errrr..... Mr Hunt used the platform to access the tree before attaching himself with a rope and steel strap that was also attached to the platform via another rope. He started to cut the limb of the tree to which he was attached. However, while he was cutting away the section above his anchor points the whole limb collapsed and fell away from the trunk of the tree. Mr Hunt fell with the tree limb and the rope attaching him to the platform snapped.
  18. Sounds like an obvious name to choose if you start a tree surgery firm in Truro! He's not actually using your name is he? If he were called Truro Tree Service and you Truro Tree Services, (notice the s on the end) then you'd have grounds to be pee'd off IMO. Brace yourself for future company's to start up called Truro Tree Care, Truro Tree Specalists, Truro Tree Work, The Truro Tree Co etc
  19. Looks like they've copied skyhucks setup!
  20. have you got one from forest and arb? like the look of them but the description : The Gill Pro Top has been engineered for unrestricted movement and incredible waterproof defence. Its protective design is enhanced by adjustable PU collar and cuffs, a non-lift neoprene waistband and front zip neck closure for cooling ventilation. A non-intrusive zipped pocket is positioned on the back for essentials. 2 Dot™ 2 layer highly breathable and waterproof laminated fabric Fully taped seams for a waterproof seal Durable water repellent finish Low noise and soft touch fabric waterproof or water repellent (useless)????
  21. You need to be a mate and a boss to the guys you work with on site. You need to motivate them/lay down the law to work half hour later to finish a job rather than knocking off for an early finish and returning another day. When someone who's been at the company 20 years is wanting to leave site at 2pm, you need inform them you'll be doing 1more tree, but making it sound like a compromise so they're not bitter towards you. be a mediator between hot headed arbs and the dumb public. On site the buck stops with you-confortations, mediation, problems, breakdowns, accidents, breakages, you're the one who deals with it, even if your the youngest, less experienced, smallest etc
  22. Interesting tables, I was surprised at Mortens figures as it puts the 362 only 300g heavier than a 560, yet i recently got a new 560xp, purely because the 560xpg i handled in the local shop felt about 1kg lighter than the 362! (aswell as being a lot smaller) Goes to show numbers don't mean everything!
  23. looks like a pine to me! i reckon the black mark is staining from sitting in mud
  24. Very nice Ian
  25. Adwords diddnt work for me
