  1. You said 2hours onsite time, your wife said 210, now you know your hourly rate
  2. Sorry to hear you've been done again. It'd be worth putting it on arbsafe
  3. Biomass like Johnny said. With the space over here, Its more efficient doing this than chipping onsite and carting away IMO
  4. I find it ironic that forum members think this an unrealistic price, yet work for peanuts themselves? From jesses posts he seems to run a high end well equipped small established company with new equipment. Perhaps there's a lesson in there
  5. I believe this one is rated to lift 1.4ton. but I'm guessing thats without attachment and close in. I wouldn't be surprised if the grab weighs 300kg, and it holds the weight an extra meter out so probably under a ton realistically. With pallet forks id expect it to easily lift a pallet weighing over a ton.
  6. Cheers, its an Avant 750 Not mine unfortunately. Its great, the grapple makes it far better than the normal grabs-you can drag out long sections so not limited by width, stack higher etc.
  7. Mondays job was the felling of 4 pines and a spruce (no pics) tuesday was loading up and grinding the 3 stumps on the lawn.. 65m3/18.5ton of wood and branches. Todays morning job was rigging down a maple (windy hence rigging) driving it out, stacking ready for collection.
  8. Really tragic situation. RIP martin
  9. No offense, but if it's the perfect motor, it's worth traveling for it. Get a train to the nearest station to the dealers and pre-arrange for them to pick you up
  10. Yesterdays Oak reduction
  11. Completely standard for the odd job or tump cut it's fine, luckily no metal or dirt otherwise it'd have struggled on a dull chain. I guess if it's a volunteer group that's doing the wall restoration it's not costing much at all??
  12. Stock, standard chain. It's my groundys, normally has a 20". Razor sharp it coped surprisingly well on the pine, felt more like a 28"
  13. Cracking mid flight Rich! This was Part of Todays job. 2 hours to get it to a stick. most of the crown was rigged down, one of the double tops removed, leaving one top and a bit of front weight to fell a big top into the garden rather than chogging down. Felled the stick with a 372/36" ready for collection on monday. Nice simple job.
  14. Do you actually use the electric thing?
  15. Nothing to do with me, except a mate works there. Posted on a Swedish tree page. Hello all again, Avancerad Trädfällning are looking to employ 8 arborists for a 2 year contract north of Stockholm, start date after the summer, 2 years post certification experience required, get in touch as soon as possible for more details. 2 arborists with the above experience needed for a contract north west of Gothenburg. Start before the summer, get in touch, Dave. Their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/avanceradtradfallning?fref=ts I believe it to be rail work
  16. I think the idea is if you had a few battery products they'd share battery's and chargers
  17. So a few years back i worked along side one of these Hiab grapple saws and i was not impressed. Worked with one yesterday, with a 'kin ace operator and WOW! On this PARTICULAR job there was no more efficient way to remove the trees. Averaging 40mins a tree, thats dismantled over hedges/fruit trees/roofs, in the container and logs stacked. The stump pic is a 66 with 30"bar for reference, the fungal bracket had 26 clear growth rings.
  18. I find that stuff leaves stains on the inside
  19. The Kilfinan hotel in Argyll, Scotland. Had the best, most mouth watering steak I've ever had there. Normally i scoff down food, but that steak you just wanted to let sit in your mouth. It was truly outstanding!
  20. Haha, I had one of them! But badged as a Seat, was ace on fuel (1.9 non turbo diesel) and bombproof. Sometimes had a problem with starting which was the starter relay (in the fusebox) used to eat 1 of them every 2-3 months. But at a tenner each i didn't bother finding out why it ate them.
  21. I'll pass that on to my mate who now runs it when I'm next home, sure he'll be chuffed
  22. As title, Name and Contact details would be great thanks
  23. I've worked for mike a few times over the past 5years and been on a weekend break to Bergen. It's a really beautiful place when the sun shines and I would probabally be living there if it wasn't so wet! I don't have a bad word to say about mike, tredoktoren or the work, quite simply if you can you can, trees are trees no matter what country they're in. If you're nervous you can live up to expectations a course might help but I doubt it. If like you say you're happy dismantling big trees you've probabally got nothing to worry about good luck
