  1. It was their (Nordisk Greenteeth from Denmark-as I understand, Scandinavias bandit main dealer) demo machine. The only one on their exhibit that was belt driven. I diddnt realise bandit have completely scrapped belt drive
  2. Cool thanks, 2550 then What's making you go for that grinder? Have you tested one?
  3. Hi! Was looking at stumpgrinders at a show today, vermeer, rayco etc, but Bandits offering of the 2150xp (i think) was rather appealing. 38hp, 4x4, belt driven head all for a very reasonable price, optional blade and remote control too. Seems like much more value for money on paper than vermeer offerings over here. Never used one though, what are they like? problems?
  4. Yeah i know but hypothetically, what if its not? What if lowering's on a rigging lines not an option as its just the two of you? What if lowering him on your mechanical system, is the ONLY option? Just a hypothetical situation i thought would make an interesting discussion and if its covered in the current NPTC's
  5. Yep, my thoughts, but does it work? But has anyone tested or tried an aerial rescue on one system, on a mechanical device, DdRT, with "added friction"? Whats the most effective way? thats pretty good. I guess the bight through lower Ds won't hockle the rope either. the munter hitch will, which could cause problems at the worst time!
  6. Been a looong time since i did aerial rescue. Just wondering whats the options on aerial rescue with mechanical devices? or even a hitch climber? I learnt (like most) using a 6 wrap prussic (just an extra wrap on your own prussic) for when the casualties transfered onto my system. But never climb on a prussic so would the likes of a zig-zag or lockjack work with 2 persons weight? obviously a hitch climber won't. Could a rope wrench or even F8 be used above/in conjunction with the mechanical device or hitch climber on a DdRT system to successfully add enough friction to support 2 persons in a controlled decent? Many mechanical devices have to stay on your rope, so in the event of a rescue, the rescuer would kind of have to use it or it'd get in the way. and climbing up on a prussic would take an age! Any thoughts?
  7. My mate sells them. I think it was this model i demo'd, was told it will lift about 600kg close in. the biggest one, trailer = 235kg, crane 218kg, load capacity 1.9tonnes. 4 meters long so even with quad attached its all under a ton and fits on a long trailer. Price, 2 examples from the internet. the big one with driven wheels, steerable drawbar and telescopic boom, new about 12k. the smaller (1.6tonne capacity) without driven wheels, ex demo, about 4k, 5k new. very rough prices Those are the quad ones. the tractor ones are between 3-5 ton load.
  8. With or without driven wheels?
  9. Depends what you want. I've recently demo'd a Honda foreman 500 with a kranman trailer with power pack, crane with grab and powered rear wheels (single speed but quite surprising what it will push you up and cope with.
  10. You said 2hours onsite time, your wife said 210, now you know your hourly rate
  11. Sorry to hear you've been done again. It'd be worth putting it on arbsafe
  12. Biomass like Johnny said. With the space over here, Its more efficient doing this than chipping onsite and carting away IMO
  13. I find it ironic that forum members think this an unrealistic price, yet work for peanuts themselves? From jesses posts he seems to run a high end well equipped small established company with new equipment. Perhaps there's a lesson in there
  14. I believe this one is rated to lift 1.4ton. but I'm guessing thats without attachment and close in. I wouldn't be surprised if the grab weighs 300kg, and it holds the weight an extra meter out so probably under a ton realistically. With pallet forks id expect it to easily lift a pallet weighing over a ton.
  15. Cheers, its an Avant 750 Not mine unfortunately. Its great, the grapple makes it far better than the normal grabs-you can drag out long sections so not limited by width, stack higher etc.
  16. Mondays job was the felling of 4 pines and a spruce (no pics) tuesday was loading up and grinding the 3 stumps on the lawn.. 65m3/18.5ton of wood and branches. Todays morning job was rigging down a maple (windy hence rigging) driving it out, stacking ready for collection.
  17. Really tragic situation. RIP martin
  18. No offense, but if it's the perfect motor, it's worth traveling for it. Get a train to the nearest station to the dealers and pre-arrange for them to pick you up
  19. Yesterdays Oak reduction
  20. Completely standard for the odd job or tump cut it's fine, luckily no metal or dirt otherwise it'd have struggled on a dull chain. I guess if it's a volunteer group that's doing the wall restoration it's not costing much at all??
  21. Stock, standard chain. It's my groundys, normally has a 20". Razor sharp it coped surprisingly well on the pine, felt more like a 28"
  22. Cracking mid flight Rich! This was Part of Todays job. 2 hours to get it to a stick. most of the crown was rigged down, one of the double tops removed, leaving one top and a bit of front weight to fell a big top into the garden rather than chogging down. Felled the stick with a 372/36" ready for collection on monday. Nice simple job.
  23. Do you actually use the electric thing?

Start before the summer, get in touch, Dave. Their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/avanceradtradfallning?fref=ts I believe it to be rail work
  25. I think the idea is if you had a few battery products they'd share battery's and chargers
