  1. The meeting of forests and citys, when expansion and development encroaches into forests and nature, protection, incorporation etc of these important recourses. Something like that from memory. Still undecided as its a topic that i don't see applying to me in my day to day work now or in the near future. Thats some impressive pollards in the above pic!
  2. There is a conference coming up here in november, which sounds interesting, but doesn't look like theres any international speakers this time so unfortunately it looks likely to be held in Swedish.
  3. Looked a great trip david!
  4. What's the pros/cons for rubber suspension? Both Brian James UK and sweden replied this morning to emails I sent last night so so far better than Ifor Triaxle appears to be an optional extra
  5. Wow, Brian James certainly does look nice
  6. Pulled it well, obviously knew it was there though! Took it easy as the truck was only 3 days old
  7. Ive borrowed a mates new Ifor 3621(?)TT a few times, the biggest tipper. Towed well empty and full, tipped with ease. I like the idea of the ali floor insert, keeps weight down? and like that the battery charges whilst driving. The only other name here I've heard of is the nuggent, but thats 25cm narrower and the sides are one piece, reduces options?
  8. Get some pics up!
  9. Nice job adam. you liking it out there?
  10. Good on him.... But whats the point in having a lot of numbers in the bank? I think its important to have a healthy savings account, but also enjoy yourself. Could get hit by a bus tomorrow, then, lying on his deathbed, be kicking himself for not enjoying those numbers - you can't take it with you!
  11. HA! He's in boxers now (too cool for pants) and up north with his mum
  12. The Chestnut Tree, West Wratting, Cambs. Got/had a young horse chestnut outside too. Only went there once, done a job nearby, smashed out a widow re-pollard in the rain by lunch, we only went in for a half and to warm up I have a vague memory of snakebites, a round of sambucas, playing pool doubles with the brunette barmaid being the 4th player, then being sent on an emergency in Letchworth, Passing my mate in royston dressed up on his heavy horses for a funeral or wedding giving me a scornful look for beeping and waving from the lorrys cab filled with smoke from a workmates "roll ups". Spiking up an ash in the dark-6pm? heavy rain, to remove a broken top hanging over a 600year old house (back another day to fell, honest) Ahh those were the days ^^ note the blushing smiley
  13. For what its worth, a mate with a machinery dealership has an amorak and has no end of gearbox problems due to towing. The new (at least this years) hilux can be uprated to tow 3.5tonnes, the dealer quoted me about 2.5k to do so.
  14. The 2.5 had 2 possible power variants, 102 and 143bhp iirc They're seriously solid trucks though, one of the local company's had a hilux and navara new, navara lasted 2 years with a heap of problems, hilux 8 without problem, replaced with 2 new ones I looked at the older ones before buying new, twice the price of same age navaras etc but with good reason IMO
  15. Awesome pics! Where'd you go?
  16. Beechwood can't be too far from you with their Hiab lorry? I think they even have a few different beds so they could drop off a bed or two for you and the crane (?) to load up and pick the smaller dia stuff with the lorrys hiab off the deck
  17. Brake disc scam here too, I fitted new pads and discs 6months previous, took it (mondeo) in for a wheel bearing, got a call to say the rear discs were shot it'd only be an hours labour, if I came back another day it's be at least 2 Told them it's something I can do myself, (And I diddnt believe they were shot) 2weeks later it passed it's MOT (same as op, not even worn a lip in)
  18. I would guess the pto is powered by a hydraulic motor so just like any other hydraulic powered attatchments?
  19. yeah yeah yeah, I've said that before, friday arvo, emergency hanging branch, can't be arsed to climb but would be a nice easy straight fell......."yeah boss, the whole tree needs to be felled, honest, can't be saved"
  20. What grinder is that Mick Dempsey?
  21. Thanks gnfencer and ironbark
  22. Good sized stump there billy! Stump grinding in the rain Quite cozy actually! Heat of the engine and coffee from the customer
