  1. FWIW I was unimpressed at the 640 running a stump grinder attachment. A grinder attachment with its own engine would be better.
  2. Thats fantastic help Ian, Thanks!
  3. If YOU need him to have the tickets, then its all on you IMO If HE wants to do extra tickets which you don't really require him to have, but are relevant, then sounds very fair of you to pay for the tickets and a good compromise for him to take the time off as holiday
  4. Sorry ben, I don't think its fair or reasonable for them to be out of pocket in any way. time, holiday, or financially Even the stay away from home needs to be compensated in some way. If not an "away" course, then the guys who can't drive, shouldn't be expected to make their way elsewhere other than to your yard for their normal start/finish times as per a normal working day. Assuming they meet at your yard every day- Thats assuming they're employed, not subbies too.
  5. Hi all. Ive got a job to price, planting a 100ft long Thuja hedge, which i wouldn't normally do but its a regular customer. Just now its a manky spruce hedge, they want it to be replaced with 2meter+ Thuja, its right next to a small road, first risk is snow being ploughed into the new plants, second is, when its just a risk of frost, salt is sometimes applied to the road.... How sensitive are Thuja to road salt? thanks
  6. Try the request a price tab at the bottom http://www.upstone.eu/en/contact.htm
  7. Secure enough to stop the opportunist. locking mechanism locks on both sides, so you can't lift a corner like the older mountaintops (i don't know about the newer ones) Also got (although I've not fitted), 2 latches that stop you being able to open the tailgate without opening the top first. its a bit bulkier than the mountain top, feels more robust, and also (according to my mate) greater opening angle
  8. Ive got similar to the Mountain top, called "upstone evolve" As per: UPSTONE EVOLVE - PRO-FORM Automotive security, protection, style and ease Its got 2 big wing nut style bolts, one either side, undo them (by hand in 30seconds, and the whole cover is easily removed, leaving just the very un-obtrisuve brackets on the sides Can mount roof rails on the top, eyelets etc for securing lighter loads/snowboards/bikes etc
  9. Did you contact the seller about the mistake? As it sounds like you're boasting about being dishonest?!
  10. Yeah, but in this new one, ill be able to drive off the road, roll down the ditch and pinball off the trees Faster
  11. My first Hilux (F reg) ended up looking like that one Bullet proof trucks
  12. The 2.5 started at 102bhp i think. Ive got a 3.0 auto, 2015, averages 29mpg mixed driving, 10% towing. The auto is lovely to tow with. I saw a pic of someone with a 5year old 3.0, chipped and a performance exhaust getting 50+mpg driving on a long run, with all terrain tyres
  13. Discount the Vermeer straight away. Literally had it side by side with the little greenmech 130 on monday. The GM was far better.
  14. Nice one Matty Bet its beautiful inside

    Trailers

You might be able to tow more than 750kg depending on licence date and tow vehicle Licences issued from 19 January 2013 From 19 January 2013, drivers passing a category B (car and small vehicle) test can tow: small trailers weighing no more than 750kg a trailer over 750kg as long as the combined weight of the trailer and towing vehicle is no more than 3,500kg (3.5 tonnes) Maximum Authorised Mass (MAM) If you want to tow a trailer weighing more than 750kg, when the combined weight of the towing vehicle and trailer is more than 3,500kg, you’ll have to pass a further test and get B+E entitlement on your licence. You’ll then be able to tow trailers up to 3,500kg. Licences held from 1 January 1997 If you passed your driving test after 1 January 1997 and have an ordinary category B (car) licence, you can: drive a vehicle up to 3,500kg MAM towing a trailer of up to 750kg MAM tow a trailer over 750kg MAM as long as the combined MAM of the trailer and towing vehicle is no more than 3,500kg For anything heavier you need to take a category B+E driving test. Licences held before 1 January 1997 If you passed your car test before 1 January 1997 you’re generally entitled to drive a vehicle and trailer combination up to 8,250kg MAM. This is the weight of a vehicle or trailer including the maximum load that can be carried safely when it’s being used on the road. You also have entitlement to drive a minibus with a trailer over 750kg MAM.
  16. When I work for other companies I normally turn up with everything as I don't normally know what I'll be doing. Even basic signage. Most of the time they'll send a groundsman and second climber, but no rigging kit. Not because they're duff companies but when they've got 10 or more teams out, others might know they need kits/bits are dispersed/the away teams have the kits ect The bosses then don't need to worry when they hire me, there's no "can't do it because..." I might see a way of getting the job done more efficiently with extra kit i.e. Speed line etc If you want to charge a premium, you've got to provide everything imo
  17. That'll be lovely Matty Can you not "parbuckle" it up onto a decent trailer? I got this 30" x 3.6m stem on the trailer with just the drive creep on the autobox
  18. Awesome setup you've made yourself Peter, something similar I'd want in the future
  19. Nice John Didn't member Giles have that? and Buzz?
  20. Great advise, thanks tom. Was the guarding from Kilworths or BCS?
  21. Awesome, thanks tom. On the new machines, is the loader/grip all controlled on the joystick? Are there any extras you'd wish'd you'd specced when new or specced but don't need?
  22. What model Pasquali is that Oakley? Front steer or arctic? and what do you think of the loader? Thanks
  23. heard about dodgy scales before pete, did you ask to be weighed at another desk? Ryanair - "dodgy" scales in Spain - MoneySavingExpert.com Forums
  24. I'll add to the thanks to Rob / Chainsaw bars, i wanted a sugi light bar from Gustharts, but none of the size i wanted instock or at chainsaw bars, so rob sent the solid one instead and a Saw combi tool aswell as compensation! Great gesture, much appreciated!
