  1. MEWP??? what an undignified end
  2. Exactly!
  3. Same protection as here, protect the stem from bucket damage whilst piling 10tonns of gravel on the root zone At least the tree looks undamaged after!
  4. Scary Jrose! Over here, to do the BE licence, you have to pass a theory test first, some snippets of info from the book about nose weight: Empty, nose weight on the tow car is "normally" recommended around 30-50kg, loaded 70-90kg you can use your bathrooms scales and a stick to measure the nose weight. If you have negative nose weight (back heavy) and are stopped by the police, you will not be allowed to continue your journey-its that dangerous! Years back working with a mate, we had an 18ft(?) trailer with tw150 on, and a load of wood, couldn't go above 30 without it snaking, moved a handfull of rings from the back of the trailer to the front and even a few onto the back of the truck and could then easily do 60.
  5. The metal cross bar helps stop the sides flapping about when unladen as much, and stops them bowing out when full, 10 seconds to remove it though. fwiw Id defiantly go solid sides and get the aluminum ramps
  6. Didn't you used to slate timber wolf or "tinny wolf" as I think you used to refer to them, at every chance you got a year or so back?
  7. Strange, why on earth is C1 entering a paid agreement with C3 knowingly without getting pay from the landowner? Seems the only looser will be C1!
  8. Had an interesting job on Tuesday, Hired in to mill some spruce stems... They're going to be seating for an outdoor church, situated on an ancient path thats being re-established between Stockholm and Uppsala. An Alter will be up against the rock, with some sort of viking stone placed (with a digger) onto of the standing stem. (2nd from last pic) The brash from the fellings has been chucked in the lake (last pic, you can see a path, then my truck, 30ft infront of the truck is the lake) for oyster habitat. Last pic again, those long planks? 10.8m long! Triple ladder technique for the alaskan!
  9. Could that just be transmission wind up?
  10. Thanks for the replies! good shout but 3x the price before shipping Nothing on google, thanks anyway. They've got a Swedish supplier but 4x the uk price before transport! Couldn't find leon avery but waiting for a price from Jacksons. most helpful/optimistic so far! Still open to any other suggestions, particularly from smaller firms
  11. Obviously not mine, but would make an ace arb truck. Proper 6x6 with 5 diff locks and 2ton load capacity
  12. I know sweet fa about diggers but these certainly look handy!
  13. It'll br perfect running next to a Great Wall Steed...
  14. A fixed bollard can help make things simpler for simpletons at the start
  15. I've the gransförs, bit more rugged appearance, razor sharp, and good fun! Paid about 120 iirc from the factory
  16. Gonna be left there Ian? Few pine dead woods, cracked willow fell and a pine after lunch. Fair load
  17. Judging the Swedish masters climbing comp today and yesterday
  18. 350 sounds reasonable, thats what the larger Alpine tractors lift, but they're nose heavy to start with. I find the telescopic boom the greatest asset on the Avants. Makes side loading of trailers so easy
  19. What will it lift? Be interesting to compare a compact tractor like that to one of the Avants i use
  20. Nice one Dan. What is the specs on the tractor Mick?
  21. Easy to see why you won! Awesome work!
  22. Cheers mark, new sign writing yesterday!
  23. Loading up. Felling, chipping onsite, logs away Big tree John! The people really put its volume in perspective
  24. Any suppliers on here? Who could ship to Sweden?! Thanks!
  25. Got roped into helping a mate today whilst my truck got sign written, 2 spruce and a pine done and dusted in a few hours
