  1. But if your on your weight limit you're not at 1/3 capacity If everyone ran legal, either smaller loads in small tippers or running big vehicles and pricing accordingly it'd weed out a lot of the "competition"
  2. Surely it only takes one not to be "safe" to be the last thing you do?
  3. I spent the day milling with the 880, and riding my dirtbike round and round and round and round the garden, neighbours are over-rated
  4. A mate had a hilux surf, with the rear seats removed, made a good van alternative
  5. Shall i be even more smug? Got it free Even wet ropes are bone dry in an hour. Certainly is nice to use dry kit. What about an old full height fridge or metal cabinet/school lockers with a electric fan heater in the bottom and a 9 inch hole in the top? (mines supposed to have some 9inch dia flexi pipe going out the top to outside, but without, it heats the workshop a little bit) Wouldn't have thought you'd need to insulate, you just want circulating hot air. Ive tried de-humidifiers before, even after a whole night, kit is still wet.
  6. This might be a bit of a radical idea joe, but how about an actual drying cabinet?! Might save you from setting fire to the outside of the garage!
  7. Its an Eder titan 80, 25tons lift capacity, quite pricey yes, rrp is 490+vat, tbh, I've wanted a hydraulic one for a while, but they're serious money! its a nice gadget, thats actually proving really useful for my kind of work
  8. You're thinking the wrong way imo. If you're getting a verticle chipper, or even a bigger tracked, the whole point of them is being able to take the machine to the tree, and sell in leaving chip on site - The customer saves £xxx in disposal fees and has awesome chip they can use on their garden, spread out, loose in the rough etc. You don't need to mess around dragging stuff out, carting it away etc
  9. Why would you be shoveling chip out of a tipper?! Yeah, the double cab tippers do seem pointless, I was (unclearly) on about single cabs
  10. I can see the use, with a little 5 inch chipper for pruning/small works, subby climber who does his own small jobs ect. As for tipping trailers, volume wise, I get nearly 8m3 on mine, far more than even a 130 single cab. 3 more perhaps? More than toyota dynas for example too. I can even get the tracked chipper on and 2-3m3 chip. But returning to collect the chipper can be a bit of a chore. There isn't a single vehicle perfect setup!
  11. Unfortunatly i doubt they'd give a toss about little old Sweden! Perhaps ALL devices should be banned, back to prussiks and hip thrusting
  12. Who did you ask? Funny you mention the Spiderjack 3, and the complaint, as only yesterday i heard that one or more of the people behind the spider jack 3 were the ones who influenced/behind the decision to ban SRT devices in Germany in an attempt to get the SJ3 selling. By money grabbing pricks, i really hope you don't mean the organisers, as they certainly arnt doing it for the money! The amount of negativity they receive i can't understand why anyone would want to volunteer do it!
  13. I think that'd be pretty shortsighted actually Mark. They've had hard enough time finding someone to organize everything as it is, last years almost got cancelled. It's a surprising amount of work to hold the comp, as I understand voluntary but expenses paid (with a limit) Perhaps trying to educate the organizers would be a better approach (they're just ordinary arborists, neither have that much experience but hats of to them for trying!)
  14. What rating are on the winches on those 1928s Pete? How about a wood chip wrap, or leaves, or timber. Or like an old spitfire with the jaws at the hopper
  15. Now that looks like a Ljungby vanett 138, seems like half the miniloaders are the same make just re badged! Minilastare, kompaktlastare, redskapbärare, minigrävare, grävmaskiner Fwiw the ljungby or pixy or whatever else it's called did look well built in the flesh at a machine show last year Interesting that the pixy is cheaper than a giant as the ljungby is a few grand more than Avants here and giants are cheaper than avants!
  16. I had similar last year, first day using a guy, sloppy on the first tree, smashes a bush, then on another breaks a saw bench of the clients (dropped a branch on it, should have moved it, but out of laziness he didn't) no apology, then moaned about going to another extra job, made it clear he needed dropping off at 4 on the dot. In my world he'd have shut up and got on with the extra considering the breakage. Got the extra job done with time to spare in the end, but don't need that pessimism! Full day's pay, no apology, no remorse= not using him again, simple!
  17. Looks extremely similar to the Thaler actually!
  18. That blaney looks good. Looks like wiederman, schäffer, thaler and some of the Chinese stuff of varying quality that have similar designs. Any more info? I've recently been looking at a Thaler, as it has some advantages over the avant style loaders
