  1. Very nice! What'd that set you back?
  2. You could start by using aspen diesel/petrol. Bio hydraulic oil etc
  3. Mine, being the older style hilux now, was 6 holes, really easy though. My mate who has a new shape hilux has clamps. I'd assume a new shape navara top would be clamps too.
  4. Remember to check that the GTW is 7t, otherwise it might be so that if you tow 3,5t you can't have any load on the tow vehicle (like a Toyota Dyna i saw for sale recently)
  5. Buying the wrong machine because it's cheap is a bit daft imo. But the machine you can use the most. It may be that a wheeled artic loader can be used twice as much because it's sensitive on gardens I find with my tracked chipper, even being careful, taking big long turns it still screws up the grass on just one pass, whereas the avant can be driven back and forth all day and just needs a quick blow to fluff the grass up again. Telescopic boom also increases useability ime This applies to my scenario/work obviously I could see a cheap bobcat being a great yard machine though
  6. When are you going steve? Could you just borrow a roof box or two if its just this trip you want the extra storage for?
  7. New shape navara with Alu-cab Alu-Cab Aluminium-Hardtop Nissan Navara - GENESIS IMPORT
  8. Same locks, (which are great) 500quid more, but painted, dunno if mine was extra to have painted, 1 year warranty opposed to 10 year frame warranty (whatever that means!) Certainly looks the part! I diddnt want one either to be honest Steve, but found that the mountain top held enough kit just for me, when staff got their stuff in its a squeeze. Looked at the Ifor, and Samson tops, but they looked to farmer like. was going to get a plastic one, Alpha GTE, or Eko but others here who have them (staff using, so quite heavy handed) were shagged after a few years, then a mate got one of these alu-cab bush tech ones and i ordered one the next day!

  10. Steve, i just got one of these for my hilux, SERIOUSLY good quality. No wind noise. they do colours to order. theres no way these can leak, they're designed to be dust proof. Even a video on youtube of them placing a land cruiser onto of one and all doors work perfectly. Cheaper than the plastic ones too. (here anyway) Nissan Navara (Double Cab) - Bushtech Canopy Top
  11. The 200t has had its day, the 201tcm is a better saw imo If you could buy it and fix it for 200, then sell it to a gullible college leaver on a Facebook arb page who thinks having a 200t will buy him respect and make him uber cool, you might get 250 after a load of tyre kickers
  12. Sorry Marc, out of interest, how or why do you say the TW is a fantastic machine to own when it's cost 5k and breaking down every other month?
  13. KTS built one with hydraulic rotate, hydraulic winch for a company I work with here
  14. Whats the rival to bandits 990? Or biggest, sub 3,5t chipper? Agree with PeteB, the europeans make the best sub 9"stuff, americans 10" +
  15. Looks good! Rhubarb, beetroot, spuds, onions, radishes, strawberries, raspberries, broad beans, peas, sweet corn, lettuce all surviving the slugs, carrots haven't
  16. Dropped my 201 out the tree (strop broke) Broke the handle, replaced it, in the process stripped one of the yellow earth(?) wires out its cover, bodged it with a bit of new wire of slightly larger diameter (loosened the magneto(? black box next to the flywheel) in the process) all back together, it fires but runs half arsed and lumpy, like a 4cyl diesel running on 3cylinders. Is it a computer reset problem? or the magneto? the slightly thicker wire? or something else? any ideas appreciated
  17. Went to Monaco with a mate a few years aga on motorbikes, tried to plan the trip in detail, but ended up no plans at all, took the ferry, over to the alps, and down. Beautiful scenery. Never had any problem finding hotels to stay at. The way back, we took the Autoroutes up the middle, that was pretty boring tbh!
  18. 95' = mk3, non turbo. I went from a defender to an 89' MK 3, so much nicer to drive! Lacks grunt on hills or towing but would sit at 80, tough and reliable

    Mini Artic

lowest weight is 3360kg with just 20 liters of fuel in that link full tank and driver would be 3.5t. add a 5th wheel coupling = ??? plus the nose weight of the trailer and 3.5t was a long long time ago! Then going back to your first post, add a passenger, kit, crane behind the cab...... I think your original idea was best and most realistic, iveco or sprinter based mini arctic on a pre 97 BE
