  2. 3. Re-top/pollard and maintain/manage appropriately Be a shame to loose that stem and all the biodiversity it likely houses Nice bit of firewood in the pollard stems for the client now, and again in the future when its re-topped....growing their own firewood!
  4. Its not Rip off Britain, although you may feel it is. Its about strength of economies for a start. When i came to sweden 6 years ago, the pound was weak, around 10 kronor to the pound, making buying kit from the UK cheaper than what my local dealer (stihl/husqvarna) could buy them in at. now its 15 kronor to the pound prices are on par. back then it made it look like rip off sweden! After all, how could it cheaper to buy swedish products in foreign countries??? Look at the discounts dealers will give you without asking on some kit like chainsaws compared to RRP, I remember one APF a dealer saying he was making £4 per saw profit, sod that! As Mick Dempsy, it varies country to country tree kit is typically 25% more than the uk, vehicles too, 2nd hand tippers are 4 times the price as in the uk, beer 2-3 times, meat is more. I now buy my climbing kit from germany not the uk (rubbish choice here)...perhaps their currency is weak at the moment? The distributor will have a deal with the manufacture, they've got to take on any crap with warranty, breakdowns, unhappy customers etc. If you buy from germany, and the kit goes wrong, will the uk dealer help you or just say tough luck?? So do you take the risk and save some money or support the UK economy, jobs etc, instead of moaning about it?

  8. Have they added 2stroke oil to the aspen2?
  9. A long shot, but check the winter kit hasn't been installed/left in. From memory the 560 winter kit instructions warns of seizures if used above -5
  10. Ill be going for Cooper Discoverer S/T MAXX 265/70 17 when i put the summer wheels on As per: tyres for 2011 Invincible - General Technical Questions - Hilux Pickup Owners Club & Online Community
  11. Great job Dave! Lovely spec too, burn some, leave some, take the prime!
  12. It might only weigh 1.3 ton but bogged down, perhaps stuck in a ditch, tracks not able to climb up a solid earth step, needing to be dragged up hill the resistance plus the dead weight will need significantly more than 1.3t pulling power plus a bit extra so you're not over exerting the winch
  13. you're having a laugh arnt ya? Jon's arbtalks resident tyre kicker
  14. Very nice! One day....although the hilux is juicy enough on fuel! What can they tow? What mileage was on that one for 26k? Is the V8 diesel allowed in Europe?
  15. Good luck with the sales mate
  16. Look up "Feige Forsttechnik GmbH" on Facebook for the one gray git posted
  17. Here But seeing as you're over 21, you might aswell take C license (any weight rigid vehicle) as its simmilar test and same price, or at least was when I done mine You gotta do C1 or C first, then you can add E (trailer) unfortunately you can't jump from B (car) straight to arctic. Again, this was the score when I took mine.
  18. Does the school even want or need a minibus? What happens when 19 students need to go on a trip but its only an 18 seater? For the price of a new minibus, the school could probably hire the perfect vehicle for the odd day a term they actually need it for 20 years and slip the agro of upkeep, insurance, driver training etc. Nobel idea Jon but
  19. I have mine bolted direct on the bench, and a desk computer office wheely chair to sit on. works well. wants to be chest height, sitted or standing imo, so either way you're not bent over.
