  1. Actually have 4 to do but have decided to replace 2 with corrugated tin instead of plastic so I can install solar.Dont envy you having to do 10. Normally try to do 1 per year but last winter did an awful lot of damage. I am sure the old visqueen lasted longer than this new stuff. The tunnels are very exposed so it has to be good quality.
  2. Looking for a different plastic cover. Have always used LBS in Colne but have suffered from the plastic splitting where it has been folded to long on the roll. Have two tunnels to redo this year a 25mtr x 8 mtr and a 40 mtr x 8 mtr. Clear for the first one and UV selective opaque on the second.
  3. Can never have enough chip although the EA storage rules could do with amending.
  4. Yes I recycle fertilizer bags. Just retie the bottom which allows excess water to drain away then cut the top off round by the 4 lifting hooks. Hold open with fork lift and fill to the top with excavator. Once full leave in open weather for 2 years and you have glorious soil improver used either as mulch for hilling up potatoes or trench infill instead of double digging for moisture loving plants like peas, beans, etc.
  5. Far to valuable to use as a mulch. I compost in tonne bags and after 2 years becomes an excellent soil improver.
  6. You can kill it with steam injection under a plastic cover.
  7. I have a kesla 19G which replaces my grapple on my Kesla forwarding trailer something similar to this vid. [ame] [/ame] Would be a bit wary of fitting to a roof mount if your using spongy tyres as it would be very easy to turn over the tractor if your to greedy in what your cutting.
  8. I have got a little A15 for flailing woodland paths and I agree they will go virtually anywhere.
  9. Would be interested in it. Have been looking for a Holder A60 for a while but most look a bit tatty whereas that one seemed to be tidy. I never trust the bay nowadays having been done a couple of times recently fortunately not for large amounts.
  10. Have you had the A60 long it looks like the one I was going to buy but no sooner did I see it for sale it was sold.
  11. The village I came from had nine pins like that but three round discs instead of balls. Prize at the annual fete was always a pig.
  12. zero if you dry it in a solar kiln
  13. Roboted Most of the war father in law was on the aircraft carrier Indomitable as air mechanic rising to leading air mechanic. Unfortunately war for him did not stop with VE day with action around Burmah and finally onto Japan.
  14. Off to Sweden in August is there anything Arb related worth visiting. Going by canal from Gothenberg to Stockholm.
  15. Only place I know where WW2 British Seaman are treated with respect is Malta. Was taking Father in Law back to Malta but unfortunately he died 1 month prior to going. Anyway we still went and was looking in the Quayside museum when we noticed the ships bell off the vessel my father in law was serving on. Local lady overheard the conversation and the next minute we where mobbed by an eager crowd of elderly men and women being so grateful to those brave sailors.
  16. Market is far worse now then it was 18 months ago. My machine is still mothballed and will remain so until pellet prices increase. Might have a dabble back in the market when I have my 30 kw of PV installed later this year.
  17. Father in law did not get his Artic Convoy medal unfortunately died before they where issued. We applied on his behalf but was told they had no record of his postings and he is not here to argue with them.
  18. I think Aldi have killed the kindling around here. Absolute mountain of the stuff just outside the doorway.
  19. That is only the start of it. If you read the Lancs CC structure plan which includes aggregates and waste management the council have it totally sewn up with only sites and operations allowed which are in there structure plan. I requested our farm be included on the next consultation (2015) for biomass waste but they have totally ignored it saying if we want to have a biomass recycling plant then it would have to be built on the designated land. (Obviously owned by the council).
  20. Only 3 cooking apples and a pear this year. Made a nice change not having the normal mad rush.
  21. Roof felters propane torch and a shovel works well or torch with a shroud over it. Just be careful if you have put wood chip down as it lights easily but can be extinguished with a watering can.
  22. Ratchet strap round the middle stops that. Bit like holding up your trousers.
  23. Get someone off here to carve you an owl and mount it as a mascot for puffing billy
  24. Would this be a continuing requirement as its to late for me to harvest this year but would consider harvesting next winter into those sizes if there was a demand.
