  1. Explanation why trailer braking is important. http://www.hse.gov.uk/aboutus/meetings/iacs/aiac/transport/151107/brakingresearch.pdf
  2. Can only speak of the high mileage guys around here all having there dump trailers and low loaders converted to full commercial air brakes and its not a cheap conversion. In my mind that says it all.
  3. You would not want to haul around our hills on hydraulic brakes especially a trailer on hydraulics.
  4. At best you will get 8 tonne of chip in a 10 tonne trailer so 100hp will be overkill. More important would be get a tractor with air that will actually handle well on the road and a trailer which has air brakes.
  5. Is Bolton to far south for you. Would existing hung trees be any use as I have a couple of them as well.
  6. Would not have put it quite like that but I dont get on well working with blokes and someone has to encourage women into the industry.
  7. Sold my timber at cost as a loss leader "kiln dried" then once reputation established sold cheap non kiln dried timber as "kiln dried". I believe he managed to cream £40 a cube out of customers whilst it lasted as I know the supplier who was selling him the unseasoned wood.
  8. I would not discount as it could backfire on you it certainly did with me. New customer bought 20 cube of kiln dry off me for which I knocked off £5 per cube he resold it undercutting my normal price and taking my customers as his product was equivalent to mine well actually it was mine. Then bought loads of cheap split logs still undercutting my price but still selling as quality kiln dried logs to my customers. Eventually he has got a reputation for selling rubbish logs and my customers are returning but it has taken 2 years of lost sales.
  9. I am sure these guys will give you a good offer. Edinburgh Zoo - Koala
  10. I only need 4ft to get in with my excavator and shear.
  11. Am I missing something, You have a little eucalyptus bush of 30-40 foot that you can drop on the lawn and cart away down a passage for £1100. Are you expecting it to cost more or less than £1100.
  12. So whats wrong with the price of £1100. I cant see that you will find anyone to do it for the price of tea, coffee, sticky buns and toilet facilities.
  13. You would think if they had a brain cell each they would get a trailer and make it worth there while.
  14. There always good at spending your money but when you need to replace your tractor its like the Spanish inquisition.
  15. Being a member of this forum is no excuse for non payment. I have only had one member on here so far who decided that payment of other members was not in his cheque book. Unfortunately I have very little respect for such members although I will always try and work out options prior to court action. In the end I used Thomas Higgins for the pre trial recovery action and the High Court Bailiffs for the judgement enforcement.
  16. I like that. I presume the white base is for feed and you keep the valve open so it does not fill with water.
  17. Certainly worked last winter when the snow was on the ground just take out IBC on the 3 pt link forks and dump in the field no unwrapping and very little wastage as the hay stayed dry.
  18. I was going to post a picture but thought everyone would just laugh in these days of wrapped haylage etc.
  19. I pinched this idea but use two tree ties at one side to make a hinge then 1 tree tie on the other side to stop the lid from flying off. Use this with the straight bar IBC to make animal feeders with hay in them.
  20. Always welcome at our farm just outside Bolton will PM the details.
  21. Dont need a sawmill to buy and collect when you have your own rack saw.
  22. My most profitable machine is over 100 years old.
  23. Just outside Bolton in Lancashire. I also help tree surgeons with large dismantles using my MB Trac and forwarder.
  24. I cannot compete with a chocolate croissant
