  1. I never realised The Sun had a page 4, I thought it stopped at page 3:):)
  2. Thought I was not going to get any calls, then 2.30 a friend phones up saying their neighbours Birch has gone over and caught in his Pine tree - good job it did as his conservatory was the other side!! Apart from the Pine it got caught in there was only one other pine which I was able to get the lowering rope up and over a branch and back down onto the Birch trunk anout 2/3rds up to tie it off and stop it falling further. Then up the Pine tree it was hung up in too start cutting it free - don't you love it when you get to the last bit that is supporting it, and not being quite sure what is going to happen when you cut it!! Got it down ok and the shed and fence survived. Times like that I wish I had a GRCS to lift the tree up.
  3. Hi Dave, Didn't stay sunny for very long did it:thumbdown: I was in Upper Terrace area.
  4. Hi Steve, Do a google search for Gill gloves. They are used by sailors for rope work on yachts. Rgds....Al.

  9. Making a go kart powered by MS880's !!!
  10. Looks like you had fun doing that one Joe. Becareful leaving stumps sticking out of the trunk after you have cut a branch off, I can guarantee a branch getting lowered down from higher up will get caught on one at some stage, and be a right PITA.
  11. Hi Tommer, My boy went up a tree for the first time yesterday:thumbup: Once he got the hang of the body thrusting technique he was away. I had a Komet Butterfly (small size) in the truck which fitted him fine. Got up this morning, and he wants to go straight up the oak tree in my garden, err son, it is pi**ing down out there:sad: Al.
  12. Are you talking about general membership of the AA or Approved Contractor status?
  13. I didn't realise spikes had weight limits!
  14. 19k climber = £73 per day before tax. I would be hard pressed to find an experienced climber for that!
  15. I'm going to employ someone soon, it's getting boring on my own now.
  16. And how many is that then? BTW thanks for helping out last Friday.
  17. Hahaha! I should be a double senior then:001_tt2:
  18. What's this all about then?:confused1: I thought it was something to do with the age of the member, if I am a junior I am well flattered:thumbup: Al.
  19. Three man team on site all day for £380?? You guys are cheap in Glasgow!
  20. I worried about translocation to other plants/trees when I used glyphosate, so now use Timbrel which works really well, and much more environmentally friendly. Al.
  21. I was thinking the same, done a few Magnolias in my time and none looked like that!
