  2. I was on the same ND course as Francis - helluva nice guy - good at football too from what I remember Anyone else on here from back then? Al
  3. So, whilst on the subject of MS200t oil caps, what about that annoying air bubble you get when filling up!! You think the tanks full, tip it slightly and big bubble comes out, and tanks is only half full. grrrr Not a big problem, but I don't know any other saws that do it.
  4. I hopefully have 'Bomag' starting in Oct. I have a couple of days before that to fill up, are you looking?
  5. I bought some Bergsteiner Pros at the Arb Show back in June, and the tread on the sole is half worn off already:(
  6. I tried adjusting up the brakes on the road wheels today as they were getting non-existant and the handbrake was going right up. Could not get the adjuster to adust properly, so took a wheel off thinking I could take the drum off and check the brakeshoe etc, but could not see how it all came apart. Any advice will be appreciated. Cheers....Al
  7. Fingers crossed things have picked up a bit for me, and could do with a third person now and again to get the jobs done quicker. Would suit someone starting college or looking to get experience before going to college, but anyone will be considered. You will be on a self employed basis.
  8. Thanks for the replies and PM's. The access is through a standard garden gate, so big mills are out of the question. last time I sopke to the client, he seemed to have someone lined up. Cheers...Al
  9. If you do this make sure it is not too far back or the weight at the front will be too much for the ram to lift - had a tipper like this once, an old LT40, and you had to shovel half the chips off before it would tip - not what you want at the end of the day:thumbdown:
  10. I would say 4.15t. Last time I put a double cab tipper on a weighbridge it weighed 3t empty:ohmy:
  11. Still trying to track down someone with a portable sawmill that can be set up in a back garden. Any pointers please let me know. Cheers...Al
  12. Hi Andy I picked up some Stein Bergsteiger Pro boots at the Arb show for one of my guys, he is very impressed> Al.
  13. I thought it was Mr Stockbridge:lol::lol:
  14. I have been felling a large yew and an oak. The client wants a beam or two cut out if the trunks. Anyone with a sawmill interested, contact me and I will pass on the clients number or put them in touch with you. The yew is about 1 1/2 to 2ft dia and about 12ft long, the oak is similar dia and 30ft long. Al
  15. I upgraded to a Sony Bluetooth stereo. I can stream music from my iPhone and also have handsfree calling through the car speakers. I can also use a usb lead strsight into the front if the stereo which will charge up the iphone as well. On top of doing all this the stereo has a mini remote control which you can strap to the steering wheel. The stereo was about £160 from Halfrauds. Well worth the money. Al
  16. Shame you are not going to be there Mick, after working with Plippy yesterday I wanted to ask you if the things he was telling me about you were true.... :laugh1: I'll be there on Saturday:thumbup:
  17. Thanks for all the replies guys. To cut the trunk smaller would have to be done up the tree, as I would not be be able to fell the trunk - I think the grass would get a bit dented! If I get the job there will be enough money on it to pay for a crane if one can be used, otherwise it's do it the old fashioned way - probably take a week atleast. Cheers...Al.
