  1. Do these BFG and Cooper tyres fit on 6.5j x 16 steel rims? I had some Freestyle alloy rims on the Landy when I got it, but was told they are not rated for the amount of weight a 130 tipper can carry so have taken them off. I found a set of 5 heavy duty steel rims with Michelin XZL's on for £250, but they look a bit skinny - will do until they wear out though:thumbup1: Cheers...Al.
  2. I should have thought Clarke Cut and Climb (in the advertisers banner down the right hand side) is your closest.
  3. I saw a blue one of these in our local BP garage yesterday with a chip box on the back, so someone has splashed the cash! No sign writing though so don't know who it was...
  4. Thanks mate, that looks similar to mine but a bit more vertical, same cap as well.
  5. On my 130 tipper the fuel filler is under the body, and on a horizontal level with the top of the tank, so if the tank is full it tends to leak out a bit, plus crap gets in. Wondering how other landy tipper owners have their fillers orientated? Pics would be useful please. Cheers....Al.
  6. Did you not find anyone last time Stu, or are you looking for more staff?
  7. These were taken from my back garden last year sometime
  8. Sh1t!! I've only got another ten months.... Woman!! Get upstairs!!
  9. I remember getting taught this when I was at Merrist Wood:thumbup: Another one to tell the difference between lawson and leylandii is to hold a fern upto the light. Leylandii has small translucent windows in the centre if the ferns and laswon does not. (Think that is the right way round)
  10. Worked fine for me after applying the update. Year end is a doddle now, it does it all for you.
  11. I tried changing to NFU at the beginning of the year: 1) My local office would not insure me, as a new customer, for climbing full time, only as a gardener doing the odd fruit tree, so no good to me 2) Tried Steve Blairs contact from another thread about NFU, and she said I had to use my local office. 3) Gave up, and stayed with Trust for now.
  12. It is 6 weeks notification of works to trees in cons area, and if nothing heard then you can carry on. You normally get an acknowledgement letter setting out the dates from the LA. The only way they can prevent you doing the work is to put a TPO on the tree. If tree is protected by a TPO then you have to get permission from the LA to carry out the works which takes 8 weeks. If nothing is heard after 8 weeks you can appeal to the secretary of state. You cannot do the tree. There are some exemptions to these rules for dead dying or dangerous trees, but the onus is on the tree surgeon to he able to prove it.
  13. Stihl clear for me as well as you can see the contents. The oil section got holed by the felling dogs a while ago so cut that bit off, and use old 5 ltr 2 str can for chain oil now
  14. £7300 is a better one! And you can collect it today.
  15. Meet me at £7300 and it's yours!!
  16. Thanks for your replies. I had contact with a tree surgeon in the area who said the same thing about asking the local Town hall, so have passed the info on to my friend.
  17. Hi Guys, Thanks for your inputs, and thanks for the vid Mick, might have to try this vt lark myself one day:thumbup: Next time there is South East meet, I will try to get there and have a go - not been able to get to the last two:thumbdown: Al.
  18. The two guys who work for me are interested in trying out the VT system. There is plenty of info on here about setting up and tying etc, but nothing about how to actually use one. Do you body thrust like with a prussik, or just pull up overhand, and then pull the slack through? As I am a bit old skool and still on a prussik (not very often though these days), I am unable to tell them. Has anyone got a video of the system in use? Al.
  19. Just send a message to Mr Bullman:thumbup:
  20. Anyone got any experience of doing tree surgery in Spain? Someone I know has bought a holiday villa in Moraira, Costa Blanca and has two pine trees he wants felled. Do the Spaniards have TPO's like we do? Do you need permission to cut trees down? Hopefully someone on here will know, or works in Spain. Rgds....Al. (Could be the summer holiday sorted:thumbup:)
  21. After googling for images of both, there is an image of the rigi that looks virtually identical, even with the green algae on top. The perenniporia does not look qite the same. If I am back there I will take a sample and photo. Thanks for your help, Al.
  22. Any one belong to Checkatrade? Had a call from them the other day, but always wary of these types.
  23. I put all arsings to be cleared from site, and I haven't had a customer ask what it means yet - and I am on quote number 2,025!
