  1. Ok, thanks for your input both. Maybe Monkey D might have something to say about Rigidporus on a Plane tree? The tree in question is in Portman Square in London. Rgds..Al.
  2. Fungus id is not my strong point, but learning all the time:001_smile: First is on a London Plane (a big one!), could it be a species of Ganoderma? 2nd photo is on a Scots Pine (old Phaeolus perhaps?) Thanks...Al
  3. I would bide your time mate, as there is supposed to be a new one coming out in June/July with a 5 meg camera, video and dual core processors!!
  4. She probably put her clocks forward one hour already, so thought it was 8.00 am:laugh1:
  5. We hired one like that from Nationwide before, great machine:
  6. Lycetts used to be called Algarve Insurance, and were one of the first to offer liability insurance for tree surgeons, so have been around a long time now.
  7. The honest answer is I dont know Stu. Last time we were going for Kingston contract and other LA stuff so made sense to do it, it was also easier to do 15 years ago! Whether it helped on the domestic side us hard to say. Now, part of me thinks it is not worth it just for domestic work, but then the other part says there are so many companies in our area that it could be a reason for a potential customer ringing me rather than someone else. Right now I couldn't afford it anyway until things pick up more. Rgds...Al
  8. Hi Paul. You mentioned a few posts ago about being able to administer CHAS compliance. I have to be CHAS compliant for an organisation that I work for, so does this exempt me from any of the AAAC assesment criteria, and so to a reduced cost? I have often thought applying to become an AC but the cost and timescale has always put me off. Rgds...Al
  9. The link in Andy's post says how to do it. Just deduct the refund amount from your payment to HMRC for the NI and PAYE tax. If you don't pay enough to HMRC in one month, then spread it over 2 or 3. As long as it is all balanced by the end of March then no probs.
  10. How can you tell what springs are fitted? Mine are black and have a smaller spring inside (assume this is the helper spring?)
  11. Hi Guys, Can I join your gang?? I bought Catman's 130 at the weekend, built a temporary chip box on Sunday, and started using it today proper. The back end was sitting down a fair bit when loaded with chips, what ways are there to stop this happening? I have seen it ahs coil springs with another smaller spring inside this at the moment. Where do you all get your spares and service items from - main dealers or off the internet? Rgds...Al.
  12. Have a look at mine in the classifieds. Rgds....Al
  13. I had a 2B many years ago, used to use it Richmond Park when I worked for Gifford Tree Service. :)
  14. I think this question got a bit lost in my last thread, so being more specific time:001_smile: To all you guys running 7.5t trucks, who do you insure with? I have just had my renewal through for £884.51, and was wondering how that compares. It is for fully comp, any driver over 25 and 5 years NCB. Rgds...Al.
  15. Bump... (disappearing down the list at an alarming rate:) )
  16. You might find that the neighbour will be over the moon to see the tree removed... I would defo get the neighbours to talk to each other, it could save a lot of earache later on.
  17. My Mum always told me to beware getting into cars with strangers:lol:
  18. I got excited when I saw Cobham.... then realsied it was Cobham in Kent and not the Cobham in Surrey (next to Esher)
  19. Hi Guys, My insurance is coming up for renewal on my 7.5t Iveco - currently use Trust Insurance but thinking of changing. Just wondering what company other 7.5t owners use for their insurance? Tried my local NFU office for the tree surgery insurance, and they say they don't cover tree surgeons specifically, only a landscaper/gardener doing a minimal bit of tree surgery, not every day like us. Yet I read another thread where NFU seemed to be insuring some of you guys?? How come? Confused.....Al.
  20. I am going to be selling my 54 Navara double cab if you are interested. Done 48500 miles, has a couple of dents under the rear lights from reversing into things, but used regularly off-road towing a chipper. Also towed a 7.5t and chipper up an icy hill earlier this month.
  21. Even better job that they did not chuck some more over, whilst you were bending down taking piccies:scared1:
  22. It was a couple of years ago now, and IIRC it was green. Yes, two loads in the 7.5t for the conny.
  23. Yes it was from DD. It was quite an old one and the four wheel drive didn't work, but still saved a load of time. Let me know if you have any big stumps to do. We did that conifer after Xmas, took 3 of us one day and me and my son (14 yr old) 3 hours next day to clear up:001_cool:
  24. Hi Paul, I have hired one of these before, they are great fun. I had the grapple on the front which was great for brash and timber lengths as well. Rgds....Al
  25. One of my 200T springs went today - grrrr!
