  1. Crane will be about 30m away, and tree is about 20m high.
  2. Looking for a recommendation for a crane hire company for a job in West London. Cheers....Al
  3. Especially the bit about them being nymphos!! 
  4. Thanks to all those that applied, the position has been filled now.
  5. Still looking for a trunk! If you have a tree to fell in the east london area, and the trunk is accessible with a hiab let me know. Cheers...Al
  6. Yeah, it's a shame you don't live nearer. Thanks for your help last week though:thumbup1:
  7. Getting busy again now Could do with a self employed groundie for 3-4 days a week for forseable future starting end of Aug. Anyone interested please get in touch through here or email cv to: enquiries (at) cormacktreecare.co.uk Cheers....Al
  8. Forgot to add that expenses and costs will be payable:thumbup:
  9. I have a client who is after a tree trunk (similar to one in photo) for a school in Clapton, London E5. Anyone on here got anything they could deliver, or got a fell coming up in the area as a bit far from me, and don't have a hiab. Cheers...Al
  10. I'd be more worried about someone coming out of the door at the wrong moment:scared1::scared1:
  11. I stopped at a shell garage in Ottershaw today to fill the landy up (again!) and ask the cashier if I had wanted to fill up a can would they let me, and they said yes! Had to do a stump grind this afternoon and the grinder was empty so stopped at a shell garage at Burnt Common, Send and filled up 10ltr jerry and two 5ltr cans and then jumped into the back of the landy and filled the grinder up - no problem at all and all in full view of the cashier:thumbup:
  12. I filled the Landy up at a Shell garage today, and they had a sign up saying 'no cans to be filled'
  13. Me too - nice guy. He came out to show me how to use it.
  14. ELG - they do a bigger one! I ordered a 376 but they didn't have that ready do gave the 506 for same money - result! The 506 reaches out 15.5m and will pick up 150kg at max reach, close in it will pick up 3t. The 706 reaches out 19m and will pick up 250kg out there, but close in will pick up 6t! The bigger machine is £500 a day, I paid £300 for the one I had.
  15. @Lancstree - didnt really use the remote as you can only do one operation at a time. In the seat you can raise and slew together so its quicker, and also see the weight being lifted! @Brushcutter - yes mate Coppards in Godstone - they've got some great kit for tree surgery! 
  16. Did this tree this week. Access was bad and the tree was 20ft down in a valley below the swimming pool. Crane was brilliant, we had the whole tree lifted out and all the wood and branches put in or near the lorry in one day. Crane was £300 for the day.
  17. It's a small world!! Say hello from me to your Dad Cheers...Al
  18. Hi Barry Was your grandad Percy? I knew Percy and (another) Barry Ayres at Chippings Farm in Cobham back in the late 80's. Pretty sure they lived in Mitcham as well. Are you related? Cheers....Al
  19. Plippy's there isn't he..... ....what more do you want:001_tt2:
  20. Yeah, but this way will be soooo much more fun!!
  21. Where the tree is, is too restrictive for a lot of people to be working near each other. A chainsaw will only cut so fast, and with this the trunk can be cut into larger sections thus saving time and mess. This particular crane is probably too big, but a slightly smaller one is £300 for the day and would do the job just as well. There is not the access for a full on crane, but these will fit through 1.5m gaps.
  22. Iv'e got a fallen a oak to remove from a garden soon, and it is down some steps in a lower part of the garden. Would need to be cut and dragged out by hand.... ...unless I hire one of these babies:biggrin:. This fits through the side access into the back garden, and will lift 250kg at full reach of 19m, should be enough for a few branches at a time. It is £500 for the day, but should get the tree out in a fraction of the time, especially the trunk, and should be a lot of fun as well:thumbup:
  23. Thanks David. Not too bad, a bit quiet on the telephone ringing front at the mo, but got a few jobs to do. Got a fallen Oak (3ft dia) to sort out in Courtenay Ave soon, nasty drag out, and can't get any machinery (even wheelbarrows!) in. Still should keep me quiet for a week. Must catch up sometime... Al.
