  1. Mmmm... Not sure about that. I thought Paulownia was opposite leaves?
  2. Saw this today but can't figure it out. The buds are quite distinctive and the leaves are 10 x 9 cm so pretty big. Didn't have a camera at the time so could only snap a bit of branch off. Cheers....Al
  3. I was wondering if the velcro can be changed to the other side, as I have spent the last 28 years climbing with my left hand controlling the hitch, and now, trying to use the right hand feels strange - also got to throw the rope over the branch the other way now as well....
  4. I bought a pair of these last year for climbing in, and found that they were not very grippy on ropes. Iv'e been using showa grippy gloves lately which make a big difference when climbing using a hitch or spiderjack:thumbup1:
  5. Me too, but that is when the little blighters seem to get to me:thumbdown: I try to avoid them or use a stick now. I have often found them in my t-shirt after getting some bites, and they are little red/brown wriggly bugs, but don't 'jump' like a normal flea, so easy to catch if you can find them!
  6. How I hate the little f*@!*#s Got home yesterday and had 17 bites on my back and across the back of the shoulders after a close encounter with a dray. Turned my t-shirt inside out and found one of the little barstewards!! Hopefully a 60 deg wash will sort any others out. Anyone else get plagued by squirrel fleas? I only seem to have to get within a couple of feet of a dray and they get me:thumbdown:
  7. Look in the first pic at 6 o'clock psition at the edge
  8. My mate saw this cow in the cut end of a bit of deadwood from an oak earlier today:
  9. If its sunny look at the shadow when you are straight, and then use that as a guide when reversing.
  10. More like when you do hide behind your friends, they make it look like you've got no clothes on!
  11. I did mine couple of months ago and all the stuff about self optimisation and axioms of uniform stress are covered in the course syllabus. We were given tree inspection sheets to complete, but you can use your own. The last time I did anything like this was doing my ND back in 1988-91, and I passed it ok. Good luck.
  12. Just checked the teamsport website and the team challenge 150 event is £175 + vat = £210 You going to Crawley track or new Brighton one?
  13. Hi Rhys Use your Rayco! I did this redwood stump with my Danequip grinder earlier this year, took about 4 hours non stop grinding taking it turns: Why did I sell that Rayco to you?? Lol Al
  14. Is that with Teamsport Indoor karting? I've done a christmas go karting session for the guys a few times and the Camberley track - always great fun, and as you say far better than a meal! We did a tree surgeons competion evening once and came 1st! Cheers...Al
  15. I could be interested in this. I have sent you a pm. Cheers....Al
  16. I've always got my spares from a local stealer, but was thinking of looking online. Anyone use the ebay shops - Garden Hire Spares or Mister Solutions for spare parts?
  17. That's what I was wondering... Garden Hire Spares sell them.
  18. Are these any good or cheep cheep?
  19. Would help I suppose! Mainly Sweet Chestnut, but some ash and Birch. The dia size is the base dia.
  20. Pricing up a job at the moment that will produce around 35 lengths of timber with dia between 30cm-60cm and 15m long. The wood is roadside stuff so pick-up will be easy with a timber grab/hiab lorry. To be competitive was wondering whether there would be much value in the timber to offset against the felling price? Al.
  21. My road tow 6inch chipper is a lot wider than 750mm!
