  1. I'll see what it's like in the morning, otherwise it's back to the hire shop Monday morning
  2. Hi Rod Couldn't see anything jammed. Cleaned out around the pedals and the actuating rod went in and out ok. I'll try again in the morning when the oil is cold and see what happens. Cheers...Al
  3. The controls and operation of the bucket is fine. It's just the forwar d and backwards drive that is sluggish. Backwards is virtually non existent now.
  4. Don't know if anyone will be able to help, but here's the problem: I've got an Avant mini articulated loader on hire. Started off fine this morning, but as the day has gone on the reverse has got slower and slower, and now hardly moves backwards at all. Forward is not too bad, but not as fast as it was this morning. The hire shop is shut until Monday morning, so was wondering if there is something I can check. The hydraulic oil tank is upto the level, and can't see any leaks. I'm sure the one hydraulic oil tank does all the hydraulics and the hydrostatic drive as all the pipes go into it. Any ideas? Cheers....Al
  5. An Arab Sheik was admitted to Hospital for* * heart surgery, but prior to the surgery, the doctors needed to store his blood in case the need arises. As the gentleman had a rare type of blood, it couldn't be found locally, so, the call went out. Finally a Scotsman was located who had a similar blood type.*The Scot willingly donated his blood for the Arab. After the surgery, the Arab sent the Scotsman as appreciation forgiving his blood, a new BMW, diamonds & US dollars. A couple of days later, once again, the Arab had to go through acorrective surgery. His doctor telephoned the Scotsman who was more than happy to donate his blood again. After the second surgery, the Arab sent the Scotsman a thank-youcard and a box of* Quality Street chocolates. The Scotsman was shocked that the Arab did not reciprocate his kindgesture as he had anticipated. He phoned the Arab and asked him: "I thought you would be generous again, that you would give me a BMW, diamonds & money, but you only gave me a thank-you card and a box of* Quality Street ." To this the Arab replied: "Aye laddie, but I now have Scottish blood in ma veins".

  9. Was asked to look at these yesterday. Could not see anything wrong. Client noticed about 3 weeks ago - could this be scorch from the hot weather we had recently? Could tie in with only side being affected. Al

  13. I had my oil delivered today...... ....came in yellow containers with Northern Arb supplies on it - not one scantily clad female to be seen at all - how disappointing is that!!??!
  14. Just found this myself today. Ordered 3 x 25ltr. £10 cheaper than other suppliers, and with free delivery.
  15. Easiest way around this is to downplate your lorry by 250kg to 7250, so your mam is then 8250. Just a bit of paperwork and a sticker to change under the bonnet last time I did this. That reminds me, must get round to doing my current lorry..
  16. If/when it splits in half, the owner of the tree is going to be liable for any damage costs and clearing up costs, so they should be paying to make the tree safe. Removing the lower branches is going to shift the balance of weight further up, giving more leverage effect in winds, and making it even more likely to fail completely.
  17. Thanks Alex. Jjust waiting to hear from someone local. Cheers...Al

  20. Any of you guys with an Alaskan mill in or willing to go to the Chobham area in Surrey? Cut up a windblown oak the other day and the client wants it milled. It's not very accessible, so can only be done with an Alaskan (i think) Cheers.....Al
