  1. Kent isn't that far away... If the OP works in London, then he can't be that far into Kent, so similar territory as Surrey.
  2. You're going to be busy then! £420 is nearer a two man gang price. £600 is more the mark for 3 man gang, especially two climbers. Al.

  10. Section felled an Oak today, and at one stage was a long way from the lowering rope, so tried your method Steve and it worked a treat! Nice one mate. 28 years climbing and still learning...

  12. If the the tree is covered in ivy it would have played a big part in it coming down in the winds, coupled with river undermining decayed roots, it didn't stand much chance...
  13. There about 16m x 75cm dbh Should get them down in 3-4 m lengths.
  14. I prefer to do my cuts on the sides rather than over and under, much less chance of the branch snapping off before you're ready to hold and throw it. Probably best not to do that on your test though!

  18. Just scrape it off! I use a garden hoe for this job, works really well. Here's one I did a couple of weeks ago: I always try to work from above, else you get eyeful if ivy crap and morter dust

  22. That's the only picture I can do, sorry. The tree is in a front garden and has been pollarded a couple of years ago. I was asked to go round and price up to remove a Eucalyptus by a consultant!
