  2. Ok that with a box body on the back Jon or just drop sides?
  3. I've got a 130 tipper with chip box and front toolbox. Often wondered what it weighs and had the chance to put it on a weighbridge recently. With driver and passenger plus chainsaws, fuel, oil, two climbing kits and a few other bits the unladen weight was 2.8t! Oh, and not forgetting the ladder:sneaky2:
  4. A Highways Agency warning said anyone travelling in icy conditions should take a shovel, blankets, sleeping bag, extra clothing, including a scarf, hat, gloves, 24 hour supply of food and drink, de-icer, rock salt, torch, tow rope, petrol can, first aid kit and jump leads. I looked a right **** on the bus last night......

  10. If I remember rightly it was around £200. The whole job to fell and grind was around £1100 - done in a day with two of us. There was a landscape company across the road which took the wood in big lumps with a forklift! Very handy and saved loads of time.
  11. 26 inches is the narrowest. What's an inch between friends:D I did this redwood with the same machine but 25hp engine:
  12. I was driving the other day and saw a van. The owner must have been called James and he did handyman work - sign writing on his van was.... Jim'll Fix It! Bet he was wishing he had called himself something else now....
  13. Cheers. I was wondering about Timpsons as they are every where, but wasn't sure if they could do work boots like ours. Looks like you had yours done about a year ago - how are they lasting?
  14. I have a pair of meindl airstreams that need re-soling. Meindl have quoted £75 to do them. Was wondering if anyone has taken their boots to a local cobblers to be re-oled and if it is cheaper? Cheers..Al
  15. I've not had any problems working close to the anchor point. The only problem I have with the snap is getting it on the rope! I'm using blue tongue which I think is 11.7mm so not a thick rope.
  16. Cheers and same to you:thumbup: Thanks Steve. Should imagine there is a bit of a rush on at the moment
  17. Hi Steve, Bought some tickets yesterday. How do I get the ticket numbers or is it just my name on a bit of paper in a hat? Cheers...Al

  19. Mark? Fagg or Nigel Fagg? There was a Nigel Fagg when I was at Merrist Wood. Maybe there is more than one Fagg. Al

  22. There you go. Should be a white wire somewhere.
  23. Evening All, I have a set of the arborcom helmets and they were great upto a year old. Since then both microphone wires have broken internally near the rubber plug that goes into the helmet, and recently one of the on/off/volume switches is playing up, in that it is difficlult to turn on, and then makes lots of beeping noises, before switching itself off, or losing the connection to the other helmet. The rubbber plug is sorted by cutting it off, baring the wires and then inserting back into the other end of the plug, before jamming into the socket on the helmet. The on/off problem I cannot figure out. Anyone else had these experiences? Cheers...Al
  24. Ok, thanks for that guys. This is a huge oak by a driveway entrance and overhanging a main road, so lots of targets! I'll investigate some more. Al
